Sonically very satisfying, those vintage tones and skills to bring them about are worth more than the price of admission. This is very engrossing like a good desert. Sound is very high end upper level excellent Espen. You surly out did yourselves. Bravo.... this could become a great classic time machine travelers dream come true. Poppin sound bro!!!!!!

Despite the venue, the lighting and photography look great. For not being there, I felt like the performance was captured very well. The intercut clips gave me Cars Heartbeat City-era tour vibes - very cool!

Not only analog - there were definitely digital sounds as well (DX7, FS1R and samples, at least). But I agree - warm and “cozy” sounding. Espen nailed that 80’s sound. Great stuff! Thank you very much, Espen!

Ah, yesss! Golden Boy! Not only my favorite EK song, but one of my all-time favorite synthpop songs. If you count my favorite songs by the number of times I listen to it in a given year, Golden Boy has been in my top 10 since I first heard it. A song NOT from the 80s that totally immerses my imagination and triggers the best of my memories from the 80s.
Phenomenal performance of superb music! I watched this on the Mac Studio Display pumping through the new Neumanns, and it looked and sounded like a glorious kaleidoscopic epiphany from the 80s! Great opener and excellent choice and order of songs. I loved the Tangerine Cover, and ending with Golden Boy was the right choice. Seeing the Gipper's face was a great touch. My wife was singing along to Shoplifting. What would her mother say? Wish we could all meet up back in one of those arcades. Congratulations to you and Ole-Petter on what I would call a resounding success! Wish I'd been able to show my support in person. Cheers, my friend. ☀

Fantastic performace.. I understand your perfectionism, it actually hurts (I know it really well for my experiences on stages) to not be able to deliver the perfection in sound/mixing you are used to and expecting and feeling some level of embarassment through that. Every venue is different, always different sound systems, different behaving echos from walls, monitors, feedbacks etc.. Honestly, this recording and video. Looks and sounds fantastic for me. All the best and enjoy upcomming gigs.
Thanks! I did show this rig in a previous video. I will have a little BTS, but more to show the challenges and how troublesome some of the gig was due to these facts, and how I'll plan to fix that going forward.
Espen, your show was fantastic, very well executed, perfect sound, even better mixing! But allow me to say, they put you on a bad stage, those concrete columns hindered the experience of seeing you with your equipment... I got a claustrophobic feeling when that square surrounded you... if the stage was open, you could even have more freedom to use a keytar, who knows! Who knows, maybe next time you'll have one. Don't take it personally, it's just a suggestion, after all I'm your fan and I've admired your work since you founded your channel.
I hope the next concert leaves you freer on a stage worthy of you! Hugs from Brazil... by the way, I'm a big fan of A-ha, who are your compatriots, and whenever they come to Brazil, I'm always following them on tour in person. Norway is always blessed with great artists like you
It took me a while to place the Tangerine Dream cover. I know it as an excerpt from Logos (Live at the Dominion) (about 20 minutes in), but it seems they reused for the soundtrack to The Keep (or was it the other way around?). I like your rendition Espen, but I must honestly say I miss the original Berlin school background sequence from the original. Christoph Franke's sequencer programming was very characteristic of TD.
