    I agree with you 100% on the customers that want to pay for an order like a week later… I send payment reminders as soon as I see it in the “waiting payment” section. If I don’t hear from them I’ll relist the item/s. Then I send them another message 12hrs later saying your order will be cancelled if I don’t hear from you. No response = cancelled order & the item was already re-listed to catch more views. So they usually have 24-48hrs before I cancel their order.

      I have instant payment activated... but that doesn't apply to items where you send offers out to.
      As soon as they accept the offer, it should take the money from them (unless they want to purchase more items from you).
      Very annoying when someone 'buys' an item, but never pays. Block list for them.

    • @MaddieAshleigh
      @MaddieAshleigh 6 місяців тому +1

      @@Johndeplume. How do you activate instant payments when they accept the offer? 🤔 I have immediate payment option activated in my payment policy.. but they never pay straight away when accepting offers... is there another setting I need to change?

    • @Johndeplume.
      @Johndeplume. 6 місяців тому

      @@MaddieAshleigh: Yeah, that's what I've highlighted above. I'm in the same boat as you... instant payment activated, but if send out offer, it's removed.
      I firstly send them a polite message to pay up if no payment made by following day, then my message/s after that become a bit more blunt (reminding them that they have made a commitment to buy the item). Of course, this won't force them to pay up if they've been playing silly beggars, and Ebay won't ban them.
      I can't remember where it is in the settings, but you can restrict people with negative feedback from buying from you, and you can also block users from buying from you (i.e. people who have caused you issues in the past). Further to that, you can also reduce the time that Ebay sends out a reminder to pay on your behalf, and for Ebay to chase them up.
      Hope this helps, and hope you and your family have a great Christmas! 🎄🙏

    Payments for accepted offers are a pain in the a**. I send them a msg (not the reminder, a pm) after a couple of hours and ask if they still want the item and if they do when I can expect payment. If I haven't heard from them by the next morning I cancel the order as buyer asked to cancel and relist it. Like you said, it's a store not a lay-by centre, if they can't pay for the item now then they can find it somewhere else or come back when they have the money. The only time I make an exception is if it's a repeat customer and they contact me before accepting or making the offer.
