The B-29 continued to be used in Korea and throughout the 1950s as the primary bomber of the newly formed formed USAF and was the main bomber used in most of the raids until the Soviet Migs made them easy targets for the jet fighters restricting them to nighttime runs.

My great grandfather escorted B-29’s on missions to the Japanese home islands in his P-51 and P-38. He didn’t tangle with any Japanese fighter aircraft because they were practically unable to reach the bombers.
11:05 The bombsight is the Norden Mk. XV; The Norden bombsight functioned as a part of a whole system. As the bomber approached its target, the bombardier entered data about wind direction, airspeed and altitude into the bombsight's analog computer, which calculated wind drift and provided the correct aim point. (I don't think the information is classified anymore)
yes, at the time it was very classified. in fact before the Doolittle Raid, the Nordens were removed for a fear that they would be captured. what replaced it during the raid? a homemade bombsight by one of the crew members of one of the B-25s, though what his name is escapes me
2:05 "They are more capable to defend themselves" 3:47 "That enemy fighters would never reach it" 4:43 "They are newsence than a threat" 6:15 "But it dosent make it less deadly to the big lumbering bombers!" logik
@Ziad Khaled early US Navy Planes kinda "sluggish" if you compare to Zero, that said, they are better armored, Saburo Sakai once feels confident and only shoot his 7.7 mm against american F4F wildcats, much to his surprise the wildcaf still flying despite taking so many hits, he said if it a Zero, it will already turn into ball of flame.
It's worth mentioning that Japan did have some fighters capable of reaching the B-29's cruising altitude, mainly the Kawasaki Ki-45 _Toryu_ ('Dragonslayer') and Nakajima Ki-84 _Hayate_ ('Gale'), but numbers of these were in short supply due to a lack of raw materials to manufacture them in significant numbers by the time raids on the main islands by B-29s became more frequent. Japan was also working on a purpose-built 'B-29 killer', the Kyushu J7W _Shinden_ ('Magnificent Lightning'), but this plane never left the prototype phase, as by the time it conducted its three test flights - two of which occurred on the same days as the nuclear bombings - the war was for all intents and purposes, over.

War can only be felt by those who are fighting in the war.
After that, the story of the wars seems interesting to everyone.
I like the info graphics show keep up the great work 👍
10:30 that happened to a b17 as well named “mizpah”
No one:
The Infographics show: State of the Art...
The B-29 continued to be used in Korea and throughout the 1950s as the primary bomber of the newly formed formed USAF and was the main bomber used in most of the raids until the Soviet Migs made them easy targets for the jet fighters restricting them to nighttime runs.
yep it became te B-50 superfortress
@@lenoreallen8859 Basically the same but with new features
This is exactly what I needed right now
There is not only A6M Zero Fighter, there is Kawanishi N1K and Nakajima Ki-84 too, they can reach with their service ceiling against B29.
i JUST saw one of these amazing planes today 4/7/2021 Fort Worth Texas. flew right over me and was pretty low too i was completely awestruck and the sound of it too was soo badass and cool I'll never forget that moment
A legend once said:
"That's a B-29 bub. There's no outrunning what's coming!"
*Messerschmitt 262 Jet interception aircraft has entered the chat*
My grandfather was a gunner in this plane and he was lucky to live. Makes you a lot more thankful of this country. And to think people even dare to kneel for the flag. Sadly my grandfather died of COPD when he was in his late 80s, but he was very lucky to be alive after the war.
My great grandfather escorted B-29’s on missions to the Japanese home islands in his P-51 and P-38. He didn’t tangle with any Japanese fighter aircraft because they were practically unable to reach the bombers.
5:53 those planes be noclipping through each other
youtube: lets put in 2 views and 68 likes
idk, but your channel is amazing. Been watching you since like forever.
0:40 : What happens when you have siblings.
Also, 12 50. caliber machine guns are basically 12 automatic Barret m82's.
No it's just twelve ma deuce's
I have had the honour of flying in one of these and all this is completely true it is truly a deafening roar and powerfull queen of the skies.
0:40 I thought they were all pointing pistols to their heads lol
That Zero chasing a B-29 with a knife has yet to be funniest sh*t I've seen this week.
B-29s: *emergency lands in the Soviet Union*
Soviet Union: It's free real estate
6:26. Maybe because he is in the infantry or marines
B-52 Stratofortress: Allow me to introduce myself
the fortress family.
11:05 The bombsight is the Norden Mk. XV;
The Norden bombsight functioned as a part of a whole system. As the bomber approached its target, the bombardier entered data about wind direction, airspeed and altitude into the bombsight's analog computer, which calculated wind drift and provided the correct aim point.
(I don't think the information is classified anymore)
yes, at the time it was very classified. in fact before the Doolittle Raid, the Nordens were removed for a fear that they would be captured. what replaced it during the raid? a homemade bombsight by one of the crew members of one of the B-25s, though what his name is escapes me
2:35 The B-29 is known to crash on the runway because the plane is almost as heavy as the lift capability of the engines. I don’t know what you mean
That’s only on naval ships witch did happen at one point but on normal airfields no.
I just love these military videos
Nobody:
New Yorkers protesting: 0:40
2:05 "They are more capable to defend themselves" 3:47 "That enemy fighters would never reach it" 4:43 "They are newsence than a threat" 6:15 "But it dosent make it less deadly to the big lumbering bombers!" logik
The zero was the best fighter in the Pacific at the start of the war. Not the best in the world.
@Ziad Khaled probably the German fighter, can't remember the name, it's all subjective though, since they fought on the same side.
If u watched 5 seconds longer they said it was only the best at the start of the war
@@RidinDirtyRollinBurnouts yes. Which it wasnt. It was the best fighter in the Pacific at the start of the war, not the world.
@@zumis1011 BF109??
History = never boring
Hi guys, love the vids, please do one on Operation: Chastise!!! It would mean the world to me!
Keep up the great stuff
When you are earlier that the re-fresh button😂💀
What? Lol 🤔
no it’s in the videos he didn’t add it to home
The infographics show is like school but it actually teaches u things
He forgot that (i think ) the B-29 can run on 1 engine and still be flying
Man. Nicely animated and all, but a pause here and there would not hurt.
Such magnificent creative machines made for such a despicable job. The irony.
I love the fact on a phone you can fast forward past all the commercials then replay the video without commercials
Infographics show:This is the most deadly untouchable bombers ever created.
Warthunder players:I wish that was true.
Please please please infographics do one on the A10 Warthog!! That plane is a modern beast! There are stories of the A10 having wings blown off, and being able to return to base.. love these types of videos! Keep them coming!
8:46 nice his gift is really good to Ftl player while fighting rebel flagship :D
