Having worked for 9 years as a wireline field engineer and for 6 years as a University Lecturer teaching an overview of the petroleum industry course, Richard has made this movie series to share with you his knowledge and experiences in the Oil Industry.
This professional lecture series is about varoius phases of the petroleum industry and has been designed for speakers of English as a second language. Along with important petroleum and scientific concepts, English vocabulary and oil field terms and expressions are explained and highlighted.
This lecture series can also be used to help enhance English for Specific Purposes (ESP) programs that train engineers who are working or will work in the petroleum industry.
Richard Lau is available as a guest lecturer for those organizations that want to have this topic presented in more detail. Contact him at laustewart@yahoo.com for information.

I learn more here than in class....thanks Mr. Lau.
This video was really informative and beneficial to me. I'm really interested in being a Petroleum Engineer and I learned a lot more about it watching a few videos on your channel. I really wanted to be admitted at the Petroleum Institute in Abu Dhabi but the admission criteria for foreigners is really difficult to meet. And for me (as a student of the Alevel system) I would have had to wait for a whole other year because my grades come out late. Anyway, thank you for your efforts! Very concise.
Thanks Mr. Lau for the series!!
I am glad you're channel is back
Thanks for extra knowledge and information
Thank you, i was your student in PI
we owe you Mr.Lau .thanks .
Thanks for share this series of videos... this would be grat to increase my knowledge. Greetings.
thanks you are very good in explaining.
Thank you so much for the knowledge sharing. its easy to understand and very beneficial.
Good, I like that you share this video, I wish success always This video series reflect solely the opinions of Richard Lau and Laura Lau and are not published with the support of any organization.
Thank you! ;)
Just because it's rich in oil doesn't mean they will go taking foreigner students! Anyway I'm American and I'm heading for a university in the states and, you guessed it, will be doing Petroleum Engineering! That's a much better offer to me. If you really want to and if you work hard enough you could probably enroll in this institution; heck, you could probably get enrolled anywhere you want to.
Dmetrius Wright what about that explanation about bubble point pressure...more gas goes back to the liquid phase if you increase pressure below the bubble point pressure and more goes into the gas phase if you decrease it below the bubble point pressure. can u clarify on that as well?
i think they change the rules . cause as i remember ,i left United arab emirates
there 2009 .. at that time it was free to any student whom finish high school
in abu dhabi to enroll petroleum institutes
I love you you're the best
at 8:55 by increasing the reservoir pressure (below) the bubble point more gases is forced back to gas solution .. any why we are grateful sir
+Mohamed 17858 it was supposed to be above)
Is there a reason why from 0:15 there is no sound?
music is nice
My division in Sapura Kenchana is looking for a new team of Petroleum Engineers. Must be prepared to move around Asia. Pls go to SK's website for more details.
density = mass/vol, not weight
Yes your are correct, but if you waited just a few more seconds 4:30 he explained why weight = mass/vol. wight = mass * gravity but since gravity equals 1, weight = mass. Not trying to be mean, but just in case someone else came to the same conclusion as you.

i thought it was easy to enroll petroleum institutes in emirates.. especially abu dhabi
cause it is rich in oil ..
But he is not a graduate do your guys take on non specific people and train them to become pet engineers? because I've graduated in Nat Sci and am going back to uni in second year petroleum but its really expensive for me. I've looked everywhere and no door seems to open for me.
Just out of curiosity, where did this praise for our Lord come from? It's kind of like shouting "Jesus save all of you" in the middle of a theater.. .. O_o; shouldn't this be directed towards more sensitive material, such as pornish youtube videos or other such grossness?
