The neat thing here was making it so you moved right-to-left, with aiming cursor positioned in a way that felt natural to move with the mouse in your right hand.
What a great piece of music in menu! This is very hard game. Finished it only once on hard. It was possible to change PAL to NTSC before loading the game. It made Walker movement much faster.
The PAL/NTSC switch was only inlcuded in Fairlight's (was it Fairlight? I think so) cracktro and was a standard feature on it. You would also need a rather modern TV or a proper monitor to ensure that the display doesn't go completely out of phase after the switch.
@@khajrane Not sure but Fairlight sounds correct. I had only 20" normal TV so gamescreen was much more wide than view available :) Those flying guys were the biggest problem as you could move so far offscreen and couldn't see them. If they got bomb on Walker's back, it made a lot of damage!
when i was a kid i thought this game was for 2 players , one moving the robot and other shotting my mind was not adapted to the awsd + mouse those years
wow I didn't realized when I was a kid. background buildings are huge . windows are bigger than walker. Walker itself is bigger than almost anything on the battlefield XD Conclusion : As predicted microsoft(windows) rules the world. They confused Los Angeles with Detroit though.... XD
I love this game, but OMFG, it was so hard already on second Act on Normal to unplayable state, and there was only two levels on Easy! Who design this? xD Also, there was no way to regenerate health, and there was no option to dodge bullets from left-right direction so... Worst design ever. xD But one of coolest game ever created. ^_^
Loved this game. Always imagined I was controlling ED-209
Same Here :D

True End game only on HARD. Love this. Played back in a day many times.
Game was so Hard on Hard that I even haven't seen the END GAME back in those days :D
I remember this game. I was playing with a friend. one was walking, the other was shooting. Since then I love all mechwarriors :)
ooow... that calming music at the beginning still gives me chills.
16:19 Los Angeles 2019 :)

I included a full loop of the menu music at the end of the video (time codes in the description) 🙂

Looks like "Abuse" that underrated Dos game

That murderbot has no business looking as goofily cute as it does
It does when the guys who made Lemmings made this. They even put the Walker in Lemmings 2: The Tribes in one of the levels
@@predcon1 ...for real? That's actually rad af.
The little human enemy sprites for Walker were actually the basis for what led to Lemmings, as well
AHH..., takes me back......

Love the graphics but so Hard, never got all the way through.
Sometimes the game didn't even start.
Amazing game!!
This seems to aim (shoot) much more accurate then when i emulate this game on PC or Mac. Any thoughts on that?
What a game! 🤓
Cool Game.
where can i get this game?
Middle east: tonight

Looks like L.A. was in pretty bad shape 4-5 years ago... 😄
36:11 bug or soldire try boarding and stole mecha?
If you stayed still too long they would climb up and put a bomb in your engine, causing huge damage. You had to run back and forth to shake them free.
@@Bobbywolf64 Thanks, so many details for such an old game!
I found this game too easy. :( It's all time management with the lockon and the gun heat. really fun though. :)
