The thing about the whisper challenge that is rarely acknowledged is how only about 30% of the English language is able to be lipread when the speaker faces directly towards the reader and involves relying a lot on context clues. lip reading is a skill that takes years to develop and constantly leaves the reader exhausted and not all deaf people are able to read lips (a common misconception).
