- In 2013 k.d. lang was finally inducted into the Canadian Hall of Fame at the Juno Awards.
Her speech is mesmerising and inspiring, just as her voice and talent is.
The host was Michael Bublé and the award was presented by Anne Murray. Also included to celebrate kd, were Tony Bennett, Seymour Stein, Jian Ghomeshi, Leonard Cohen, Jane Siberry .. and Shania Twain for some reason.

The first time I heard KD she was on Good Morning America. I was in another room, but when I heard her voice, I ran to the TV to see who was singing. I adore everything about her. I’m almost 73 and I appreciate her free spirit and her amazing talent…👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I was fortunate to see kd and the Reclines at the Desert Rose in Elora Ontario in the mid 80s... a tiny venue I sat a few feet away from this amazing voice singing Patsy Cline songs... she blew me away!

it was a great time to be at W'loo, I saw Sarah McLachlan at the university in a small amphitheatre ... her encore was Gloomy Sunday... I will never forget the shivers!

I saw kd lang at a winery in Australia, everyone was sat on the grass in the evening eating and drinking. I walked up to the stage and was in awe at how effortlessly she sang absolutely stunning.

When we were looking for a band to perform for Klondike days at the Westin in Edmonton I came across KD at some motel on the outskirts of Edmonton and next day contacted her manager Larry Wanagas to book KD for the 10 days of Klondike Festival and I remember saying to KD when she was getting ready for opening night “ Send them home happy “ and she sure did! Also Larry brought in the guys from Sony music in LA to see her perform and as they say “ the rest is history”
Great artist and delighted for her success and still have a copy of the contract we signed.
Had the VERY great privilege of experiencing her performing live. She is without a doubt a world treasure!

I also 1st saw her clomping around in big boots and a cowgirl outfit. She was in college and performing at a venue in Red Deer Ab in the '80's. I was awed and amazed and remain so to this day

I 1st came to know of K.D. Lang in the early 90's, so I was late to the party, but whilst I haven't listened to her beautiful vocals in quite some time I've spent the last couple of hours reintroducing myself to her. She delivered a powerful speech here, gracious in her acceptance and recognition of her entry into the CH of F whilst praising her homeland and its ability to embrace all its citizens, well, to a large degree at least. A beautiful 'freak'.
