He was on the verge of losing his screams at this point, they're still pretty good to my ears in 2003 though. After that I can't listen to his screams at all.
Steve Rouse all he did was pretty much rip his voice to shreds 2003-2005 his screaming was still good and sounds bad ass but yeah many vocalists have done the same.. phil anselmo being one
Yeah around this time he'd do backing vocals on Get Inside and Inhale since he did it on the self-titled too and then he would do it on The Travelers Pt. 2 and Last Of The Real off of House Of Gold & Bones Pt. 1 before he left the band in 2014.
+iamtheblackwizard88 his screams will never be as brutal, but he has far from lost his voice. His clean singing is on another level now. Just listen to taciturn, I really think he would have struggled with that sort of thing right after the iowa tour. This is old but had to comment lol
ik im late to this comment, BUT my theory is that he slammed his voice on the first 2 albums/concerts and it got lost after that. Hes still a beast, but his scream got high pitched until All Hope Is Gone came out and all of a sudden it was deeper than ever, just not as powerful. Then it got slightly weaker as slipknot grew. but still amazing
Not to mention Stone Sour was a band before Slipknot. So technically Slipknot is his "other band". Well maybe not a band before Slipknot but he was in Stone Sour before Slipknot.
It's because when he is singing for Stone Sour, he is Corey Taylor. When he is singing for Slipknot, he is #8. In Stone Sour the focuses is Stone Sour not Slipknot
I’m a big Slipknot fan and have never checked out stone sour I’ve fully heard one song looking through the glass or something my mom always used to play it but they are really good imma start listening to them
Carai escuto essa banda uns 12 anos e só agora que vi o Jim fazer backing vocals haha. Mandou bem pra caramba. Alias a voz do Corey nesse álbum ta tão no ponto quanto no Iowa, simplesmente magnífico!
i wonder for who they were opening.. in 2003 in europe they were still a pretty unknown band, and that crowd is an amazing chance for these young Stone Sour.. amazing Corey, and super performance, i miss this sound a little in modern Stone.. thank gods for Slipknot
o vocal do Corey nesse ano é mt uma mistura do vocal do Iowa com do Vol. 3, inclusive fico impressionado com os backing vocals do Jim, cara tem um grito monstruoso subestimado
Corey's performance was just a drunken mess, but we're all aware of his alcoholism during the first Stone Sour record and going back into the Slipknot cycle...he drank himself and he's owned up to his substance abuse but seeing it and actually gaining a perspective of a tangible and palpable pattern taking place, it's sad but heartening to know he got his act together and I don't think us, as fans, will have to see performances like this ever again.
Matt S. This performance kicks ass, the voice could be a little better but at least it's not as bad as Vol 3 when he'd stopped drinking altogether. He was way better as a mumbling drunk, lol.
It's so weird to see Corey struggling with the vocals like this. I saw the knot in 2016 & trust me the guy has still got it, puts this performance to shame.
Corey melhorou muito, esse foi um momento ruim pra ele, se matando com alcool e drogas mas como o ditado diz: "o que não me mata,me fortalece" legal ver ele atualmente bem e sóbrio.,,

in general he is super underrated. amazing technical skills

Where does he use improv in this gig ? I can’t tell, (I play drums)

I don’t know what looks weirder, the fact that Jim is beardless or that he’s singing lol
Singing. He was beardless in slipknot
I'm going to have to agree on singing and being beardless during that time of Stone Sour.
i think he sings on purity but live they use a sample

He looks like Jerry Cantrell with more brownish-red hair, especially when he's looking down.
