Hymer are very well built compared to most the wood looks great just a good clean up inside and it will look a lot brighter please dont muck around with it .
there is a drain tap to empty the tank. my bro-in-law just bought the same van , same year, it took him ages to find it but it is there, i could put him on to you if you think it might be helpful. love the vids have great time, we are actually in france now. bon voyage both of you
Great MH and great price. My daughter and boyfriend are thinking about buying one and travelling. I would definately go for a Hymer at that age. Good suggestion I saw in the comments was a diesel heater - I would add that an external thermal windscreen cover keeps it warm and cuts down on condensation. Good luck on your travels and don't forget to ask if you have any problems.
Thank you for the tour; what a lovely motorhome you have. Look forward to seeing more as it is in very good condition and only having 30,000 miles means you can do a lot of travelling in it; enjoy your new home. You are lovely people and wish you all the very best.
Always loved the Hymers especially the one you have with the classy front. We have a 32 year old Triton Eriba caravan, made by Hymer. Keep it classic, look after it as they are a bit like older VW camper vans the more original the more sought after. Happy travels 👍
I love your Hymer. I'm contemplating buying one myself next year. However I would suggest that you respect the wood! Don't paint it, don't cover it up.
Thank you Tommo! We are chuffed to bits with her🎉. Hopefully we will get to the personal touches in a few weeks after the mechanical side of things are completed 👌
best of luck with the mods my tip is use it and upgrade it as you go then you will truly know whats needed the amount of things i put in mine and 5 years later hardly ever use them the one ting is a good diesel heater and extra usb fast charger i now have 9 lol
Looks great! I'm about 3 months in . 31 year old fiat ducato coach built. Just me and my frenchie, so suits us fine. Don't get overwhelmed. At that age, there's lots of things you could do. But doesn't have to be all at once either. Enjoy😊 can't wait to see more updates
Loving your B584 and story. We own a slightly newer one 1999 and recently purchased her and love her to bits.Named her Heidi. We look forward to yours and our travels
Great first video, now a subscriber. firstly name for your Hymer, maybe Hawfinch or heron (for your love of birds?) now my 10 pence worth of experience, after living full time in a motorhome for 2 years. my first bit of advice, is DEFINITELY invest in a diesel heater, trust me you'll need it during the winter. I have a fairly new A class motorhome with a good Aldi heating system, but during the winter this isnt enough. the diesel heater was a game changer for me, and worth every penny. If you're planning on living off grid a lot, like me, upgrade your 2 leisure batteries to lithium, you can then drain them down to near enough empty and it wont affect them at all, game changer. i have 250 watts of solar, which is good in the summer, but rubbish in the uk during winter and rubbish wet days (300 days lol). have a good mobile phone contract, with unlimited data, so you can work away and stream your tv channels on iPad etc. that's the main things from me at the moment, if i think of anything else i will comment on future videos. if there's any questions you want to know, please reply to this and i will ensure i reply. good luck
Thats some awesome advice thank you so much. It's great to get advice and tips for motorhome living from full-time van lifers such as yourself. When we have more questions we will definitely be asking as we are very new to this experience:). Thanks so much for the comments and we look forward to hearing from you on our future videos !🎉
@@Vagabirds no problem. you're gonna get a lot of questions, trust me lol! i will help as much as possible from my experiences, its always good to know early.
I used to live in a caravan for a couple of years - thought it be be quite fun to tour around, though I never went abroad. Winters are the biggest issues, especially with condensation, frozen pipes, the cost of fuel for the heating. Oh and the cold as well. Take my advice - in the winter, take a trip to southern Spain or better still Greece! Good luck to both of you.
Thankyou for the top tips Alastair, we will definitely keep them in mind! Greece is definitely on our winter list as we used to live there when we were younger! All the best :)
First thing. Great video very informative I think you guys are going to have a lot of fun on your travels and I can't wait to watch more content that you make. I absolutely love you guys taking a massive leap and going for it life is far too short it seems more and more people are moving into van's and quitting regular House living good on go for it. I've subscribed and can't wait for videos and I've got my partner to subscribe to take a look at my channel explore with the Sherrie's. Once again good luck keep up the great content best wishes Geoff and sam😊❤
Good morning Geoff and Sam! Thank you so much for your lovely comment and thank you both for subscribing! We will definitely be checking your channel out as well :). Kind regards and Safe travels 🎉
Subscribed ! We're also doing the same thing. We had a MoHo here in Tenerife @VegabVanTours and we sold her but now planning on returning to the UK and buying an older van and touring Scotland and then Europe. Look forward to seeing more great videos guys. Thanks. Oh... As for names... How about Hilda ?
Sorry guys forgot to mention, and also because for some reason I couldn’t edit my other comment, but we vinyl wrapped our cupboards. It made a huge difference to the look of the van and retains the value whilst easily removed if you fancy a chance of colour etc.
Hi, we owned a Hymer B534 for 10 years and your looks similar except mine had a rear u shaped lounge. If you keep the wood - it smells really nice after polished with Pledge. Mine had a 100L fresh water tank and a 100L waste water tank at the rear.
Hey Neil! Thankyou for your comment and your tip with the pledge ! We are leaning towards keeping the wood plain as we are unsure how good of a job we will do of painting 😂. Do you still have a Hymer or something different? Kind regards:)
Just give you heads up there parts of your vid your voices fade away...microphones be a big help if u vlogging more. Look forward to seeing your travels 😅 enjoy the journey
Really appreciate the advice! Another lovely viewer suggested we could vinyl wrap the cupboards if we fancy a change as it is easier to reverse. Kind regards 😊!
@MrBlazeyb Good morning and thanks for the comment :). When we bought ours we drove from Weymouth to Nottingham and averaged around 30mpg unloaded. The tax is £30 a month :). Hope that helped and really hope you go in the hymer direction, they are awesome vehicles.
Hey there Dave, great question! Initially, we got quoted over £1000 for the year which really shocked us however after joining a club it lowered our quote to just £480 for the year! Unsure about the windscreen but we have heard they can be expensive also.

I wouldn't paint the cupboards ,just my opinion,Hymer are a great camper, enjoy every moment 👍
Thank you Victor! We have decided against painting them as we don't think we could do a professional Job 😂. Kind regards!
Lovely rig! You'll probably end up taking the carpets out once the 'weather' comes. Good luck on your adventures!
It looks a bargain and some good H name suggestions are Hope, Happy or Holly😊 Wishing you good luck and best wishes
Thank you so much! We appreciate your suggestions and comment!😊

That sounds awesome. Wishing you the best with your caravan and travels!

Guys, that Hymer is just so cool....you've a smashing van there 👌...looking forward to seeing how you make it your own 👏

That's such a great idea, thank you phelix. We will definitely look into it if we decide to go that route 👌.
Looks a bargain, you can’t beat old hymers !
We think so too! We saw a lot of vans for over 10k that weren't as well looked after. We have learned Patience is a virtue found when viewing vans 👌
great van well done what about call him herbiexx
Thanks so much for the suggestion! We will add that to the list.😊

It looks like this motorhome had to be originally sold in mainland Europe, since it has the steering wheel on the left instead of the right.

Thank you for the advice ! To be honest we weren't expecting to get any views on our videos so we think it's time to get a microphone 😅
Hi guys just my opinion but I wouldn’t paint the cupboards unless you plan on keeping it until it’s value has gone because it will devalue it
Really appreciate the advice! Another lovely viewer suggested we could vinyl wrap the cupboards if we fancy a change as it is easier to reverse. Kind regards 😊!
Have you any idea what the MPG is, and how much to tax. We’re seriously considering buying a Hymer this year and will follow you with interest.

Is it expensive to insure, been told windscreen can be expensive if cracked??.
Hey there Dave, great question! Initially, we got quoted over £1000 for the year which really shocked us however after joining a club it lowered our quote to just £480 for the year!
Unsure about the windscreen but we have heard they can be expensive also.
Is this 3.5t or heavier?
Hey there ! This model is just over 3 tonnes so you can drive it on a standard car licence.
well done on the price 30k not even run in
We are very happy with our purchase, We have never owned a vehicle with less than 100k miles on before 😂
if you paint the wood you will devalue your hymer by a lot of money
Thankyou Colin we didn't think of that! Much appreciated and kind regards 😊
Welcome to UA-cam. (Also, great name 😉) Do you have an email address I can use please?
Thank you! Love your name also😂! Sure thing it is wanderbirds584@gmail.com. kind regards!
