I am soo hyped. Rogue has been my main for 5 years now and assa has always been my favorite spec, sadly I haven't been playing it since end of Legion. I cannot wait for this :3
Felt as a rogue main since end of WOTLK. If they can fix frost dk now, I'll be happy ASF. I'm honestly bored of hunter but never get bored of rogue and frost dk.
@@Yorheim sadly to me hunter is so so boring that i can't even stand leveling it up. I know there's a lot of people who like the class but i just can't. I'd rather just play a paladin for the " simpler" rotation if it's the case.
@@mysteerie8332 hunter is definitely easier. But it's corny. I've had hunter, rogue, paladin, and dk at max nearly ever xpac. With druid shaman warrior eventually getting there. A real alt-aholic with 23characters on emerald dream alone. In legion I had 1 of every class to max and geared heroic raids except for monk and priest 🤣
the problem is you still need to tab target like a madman to maintain bleeds on multiple targets. IC still needs help, or better yet, some way of spreading bleeds made baseline. You have to maintain a minimum count of bleeds to keep up your energy gen, so sticking on a single target to splash poison is easier said than done, you'll still take breaks to tab target and maintain bleeds, then lost your primary target and have to re-aquire. It's not really skill to do this and should not be treated as a skill ceiling, it is simply a bad quality of life to execute the spec properly and needs to be fixed. It's easy enough to fix, remove the stealth requirement of IC, or better yet, fix it baseline so that a capstone talent isn't fixing a spec issue that should be baseline; Garrote and Rupture updated to "If applied to a target that already has this bleed, excess duration will apply to a nearby enemy." Then you can stick on the same target and still maintain the appropriate bleed count for energy gen, without the stupid tab targeting, and without making any OP changes to the class (this is not a damage increase, it is a QOL improvement only). Not to mention caustic spatter is re-introducing a problem that has plagued the spec in aoe for a long time; which ability am I supposed to use in AOE? (This question used to be, should I use crimson tempest or fish for poison bombs from envenom?) Now it's "should I use mutilate for the extra setup every 10 seconds or just jump right into the extra combo points/energy efficiency of fan of knives?" and at how many targets, and how long do they need to live for it to make more sense to weave in the mutilates every 10 seconds? There is also the issue of tab targeting, meaning when you maintain your bleeds you'll lose some duration of the caustic spatter debuff and not get full value out of that maintenance mutilate, which will feel bad at best, and at worst, you have trouble reaquiring your caustic spatter target all-together making it a full loss and have to re-apply. It needs to have unlimited duration with a max target limit of 1, or better yet NOT be tied to mutilate and instead tied to white(weapon) damage. Or [even more] better yet, the fix that always should have been and was quite obvious = Poison bomb changed to have a 100% proc rate and simply have the bomb damage scale with combo points rather than proc rate. None of this even touches on the fact that if you don't take caustic spatter or poison bomb, with the recent changes to crimson tempest, there isn't a clear AOE finisher anymore... don't get me wrong, I like the change to crimson tempest, but the spec still has way too many AOE ambiguities, and feels like we just traded one for another, without even fully addressing the biggest issue which is tab target bleed maintenance.
It's a good start, but there are still some big issues. Blindside should be Baseline, SnD just needs to be completely removed from the whole Class. Alacrity can also go the way of the Dodo. The Exsanguinate options seem interesting. A lot has to do with the Energy Economy. The Passive version is pushing you to builds, where you have the highest possible Energy Pool, and with those situations you'd not really want to dip under 100 Energy for most sustained Damage, unless to deal a Killing Blow. I like the idea of Kingsbane becoming more of a thing. Honestly, Dragon-Tempered Blades, while effective, doesn't really offer any interesting gameplay, as it's just more Passive Damage. Changes to Indiscriminate Carnage make it easier to use, for sure, but also severely Nerf it. While it does make Shadow Dance builds an actual thing, you still get less value from it overall. Shadow Dance should be a Sub exclusive thing, it's what makes that Spec feel different from the others, so I don't think this is the way to go anyways... The Current Carnage might work fine, if it was both Baseline, and on a shorter CD. Caustic Spatter might also be a game changer here. At what cost will ST be traded for AE, and the other way around, that's gonna be a key thing to solve. This new Version of Carnage feels like they intend for Sin to only ever really have 2-3 Bleed Targets, and the rest will be covered by Arterial Precision, Caustic Spatter, or RNG Poison Bomb. However, that rather highlights just how bad an idea it is to have Shiv as a Damage Dealing Ability. Shiv was originally used to deal with Enraged targets, and now it's suddenly functioning like Fan of Knives? It's totally missing the mark of what the concept and fantasy of the ability is! Shiv needs to be decoupled from Damage and returned to pure Utility, and the old Legion Toxic Blade returned to it's rightful place as a Damage Ability. It's one thing to have Talents modify and enhance Abilities, but to completely change them from one thing to another feels like they are completely missing the point of the thing in the first place. Path of Blood, it's problematic. Not taking it effectively locks you out of all the edge Talents on the right side of the Tree, until Intent to Kill / Iron Wire. Similarly, as there just is never gonna be a build that doesn't take Cut to the Chase (since SnD is still handicapping the Class), turning Improved Shiv into a forced Talent. Yet another case, where Shiv being a Damage Ability, instead of Utility, is causing unnecessary issues. More evidence to prove Toxic Blade should come back and Shiv returned to the Utility it was always meant to be. Sin doesn't scale as well, as the other Specs, and I don't see these changes really addressing that too much. Of course, they can just increase the coefficients, but I feel like they'll still end up in the same place. Of course, having 300 Energy to play with might make things feel different, but it's really not so much the Max Energy Pool that defines how you play, as it is the Regeneration Rate. This is also another reason why Thistle Tea remains unremarkable. Cold Blood is still a waste of a Point. A single Ability Crit isn't worth a Talent Point. Thistle Tea remains unimpressive and archaic, and is taking space from something more impactful and interesting. Poison Bomb being passively tied to Envenom still won't feel great, because you don't really have any control on it. Honestly, it might feel better if it worked similar to Cold Blood (next Envenom triggers Poison Bomb), but on something like a 20-30s CD. That, or it was just an Active Ability of its own on a 20-30s CD. Either one would feel a lot better, than still relying on RNG. Sudden Demise is what Zoldyck could never be. It's like a Rogue version of Touch of Death. Of course, these Talents, along with Blindside, are somewhat at conflict with each other, but I'm not sure you'd even want to have all of them in the same build. Overall, lots of good ideas here, but I remain skeptical about the implementation of it all. Some obvious things the Community has been talking about for years just don't even seem to be on the radar.
