@@ВасилийИванов-ю3ю I think his time in TNA lasted too long perhaps, but it was awesome to see him extend his range in ways wwe probably wouldn't have allowed him to. Though we did have to deal with some weird TNA things as well lol
In the ring, angle was phenomenal. Out of the ring and on the microphone, he was damn near genius Absolutely hilarious at times, serious when it needed it. Brilliant. His rap battle with Cena is one of the best segments ever
@@reynold_tv Am I the only one who remembers the incredible 2003 smackdown match they had 2 weeks before Angle had the iron man match vs Lesnar? This was even better than no way out, the ending with Lesnar destroying them with chairs was amazing too.
2 of my favorite Kurt Angle moments involve Undertaker but with radically different tones. One was in '01 when Angle was trying to look "hip" wearing a flag bandana and made biker Taker corpse. The other was in like '06. Wrestling Machine Kurt staring down the Deadman and saying "when that bell rings, I don't have a soul either! "
He was one of the few guys who could have the crowd booing you one second and laughing their asses off the next. The whole angle (haha) with Stephanie and HHH was brilliant. He hadn't even been in the business for a year by then and was working with the top guys in several segments every show. Main events. All of it. I wish he could wrestle forever.
I don't think anyone was ever surprised at how good Kurt Angle was in the ring. Everyone knew he'd be good. I think what blew everyone's mind though, was how good he was outside of it too. He understood the entertaining aspect of it right away. Something many of his shoot contemporaries failed.
not necessarily true. there are tons of olympians/amateurs who have been wrestlers and varying degrees of good in the ring, but the way Kurt became really good, really fast and then continued to excel at everything elsse thrown at him is a seriously 1 of 1 experience. the multitude of levels Kurt checks off is absolutely disgusting lol.Gable stevenson most recently shows how vast the difference can be between olympians/amateurs. Kurt was way more than a surprise.
Kurt just came across as a complete maniac in the wring the way he would scream and do the singlet pull down was crazy the dude just had some of the craziest energy
When Kurt entered the square circle he only knew one gear and that is flat out , I’m talking red lining to the limit. Kudos to you Kurt definitely in my top 3 .
Kurt Angle as a heel or face is entertaining to watch. Heel Angle vs Eddie Guerrero at Wrestlemania XX was an instant classic and Wrestling Machine Kurt Angle vs Undertaker at No Way Out is a match that I always come back to if I'm in the mood for some Kurt Angle wrestling.
Kurt Angle is one of the absolute best ever at every single facet of pro wrestling. Hard to think of five people better in that overall regard, certainly.
Kurt was amazing because he could go from looking like an idiot and being goofy to an intense badass machine. Most that do comedy can't break out of it. With Kurt he could do it all. Probably the best all around wrestler in terms of being the complete package I've ever seen in 30 years as a fan of pro wrestling.
It would have wonderful if Kurt Angle could have, in his prime, wrestled against either Randy Savage or Brett Hart. Those are two matches I think most fans would have loved to see.
Angle was the glue of the main event bridging the transition from the attitude era to the PG era you needed to give a new guy legitimacy put him up against angle.
Looking at all the people that came from a competitive sport, Kurt Angle's got to be #1 on the list of the best. It's been said that he was one of the quickest ever to pick up the art of pro wrestling and perform at a high level. They put him out there to wrestle in front of a live audience within 2 weeks of having a tryout at WWE. That's unbelievable. I don't recall if Kurt's ever injured someone in the ring... maybe he has, but maybe he hasn't? Kurt was injured in some way for most of his career and still performed the way that he did... kind of like Larry Bird in the NBA, you wonder just how much better he could've been if he were 100% healthy. Also, not many people on the planet period can entertain the way he did outside of the bell-to-bell action. That's a skill unto itself. He like so many other guys could've had no charisma whatsoever, and yet he held his own in such a stacked roster at the time. I would've loved to have seen Kurt vs Bret. Bret is 12 years older than Kurt so Bret would've been in the twilight of his career if somehow he never got injured by Goldberg, WCW still folded, and Bret somehow returned to WWE not long after. Bret was 42 when Goldberg injured him in 1999. There's an alternate universe out there somewhere where Bret never got injured, WWE and Bret found a way to bury the hatchet after WCW's closure, and Bret came back to WWE to close his career out the right way. He would've been in his mid to late 40s, which plenty of wrestlers still wrestle at that age, and it would've been possible for a Kurt / Bret match or feud to have happened. One can dream.
Kurt understood back then that if you take your bumps, make us laugh, and entertain us in the ring that we would eventually all give him his flowers. Man was the literal definition of doing business and he did...incredibly. Guy is a SOLID S tier quality wrestler and character.
Undertakis is a good mom, I hope cort ankle is having a good time with his father undertakesr, he is a better high flyer that the big show Who agrees? 👇
Everyone: "Kurt Angle is the greatest ever!"
Taker: "He doesn't get enough credit"
I agree with Taker
When Undertaker gives you flowers and roses, then you have a great career.
Kurt Angle is a G.O.A.T. on segments and matches.
Wasted his prime in TNA. He would be WWE/Hollywood megastar.

Kurt was the best of both worlds. He could wrestle *and* enterrtain.
@@ВасилийИванов-ю3ю Wasted his prime in TNA? Dude, what do you mean?
Kurt had awesome matches in TNA from Joe to AJ.
@@kenterminateddq5311 wrestling not about matches. Its about entertaining and storytelling. WWE under Vince was perfect platform for Kurt.
He’s the goat for me, he was an incredible athlete and in ring performer. World class on the mic too
Kurt Angle is defiantly one of my top 5 man! I’m glad he’s getting more and more recognition
*definitely
True he knew how to make anything work from comedy to the ring
Kurt was my favourite.
What a golden age for wrestling. Taker, Kane, Rock, Austin, HHH, Kurt, Lesnar, Jericho, Eddie. It will never be the same.
In the ring, angle was phenomenal. Out of the ring and on the microphone, he was damn near genius
Absolutely hilarious at times, serious when it needed it. Brilliant. His rap battle with Cena is one of the best segments ever
Kurt is probably the most intense looking wrestler, guy could sell product from his look alone
A truly rare breed where he can be a goofy babyface or badass heel. And everything in between and it works.
Facts was just about to type that lol he could be extreme or goofy and both are believable
That really came through when he played Koba in Warrior. He looked like a monster
Only after he shaved his head 😂
True
Kurt was also one of the few that almost broke taker when he came out of the locker room with that bandana
Their WHC match at No Way Out 2006 is probably my favourite match of all time.
That's the first match that came to mind when I pushed play and heard Taker speaking. This match is an absolute classic! 💯
You beat me to this comment. 👍
Imagine if that was the Mania 22 match

Angle was not only a great wrestler, he was also funnier than hell. 👍😆
Late 90s early 2000s wrestling was so good so many good talent. It’s actually unbelievable how good these guy where.

Factual that line was tuff 🔥🔥🔥
Angle was elite at every facet of pro wrestling while having that background and pedigree… that’s Goat status and stuff of legend
IF early to mid-2000s Kurt faced the best of today he'd wrestle circles around them all. Been watching wrestling since 90 & Angle is the 🐐

My first ever WWE event was in 2004 a house show at Nassau Coliseum and it was the undertaker versus Kurt angle.

Kurt in my top 3 of all time easily. Next to Austin and Rock.
Shit Kurt Angle is alot people favorite wrestler and I'm one of them 💯💯💪🏾. Always been my favorite.

Kurt Angle is the greatest wrestler under 6 feet and definitely top 3 greatest technical wrestlers ever .
At this point, you have to make your wrestling Mt. Rushmore w/o Kurt Angle. Not because he's unworthy, but because he's a step above everyone else.
Facts 💯💯💯
Kurt Angle is one of the few wrestlers who can be both a goofball and can kick your ass in the ring at the same time.
Kurt Angle is one of my favourite 2 wrestlers of all time the other being Rey Mysterio
Kurt and Shawn are for me the 2 best in ring performers of all time
Kurt Angle vs Chris Benoit - Iron Man Submission match still the BEST MATCH of all time ✊✊
Bret, Austin, Foley and Kurt are my mount Rushmore.
00’s Wrestler of the decade was Kurt Angle
I went to The state finals in highschool i had that kurt angle mindset i would stay after school and train for more then 3 hours a day thanks Kurt
Definitely the funniest guy in sports entertainment 😂🙌🏻
Loved Kurt!
Kurt Angle one of the greatest of all time but my goodness he's super underrated in WWE
He’s right Kurt was the mvp of the Ruthless Aggression era
Kurt angle should be 1 of the challengers for the undertaker's streak at WrestleMania and probably end it. Too bad we don't get to see this.
It would have wonderful if Kurt Angle could have, in his prime, wrestled against either Randy Savage or Brett Hart. Those are two matches I think most fans would have loved to see.
I agree - my Mount Rushmore 4 for WWE for the guys I completely biasedly liked the best would be The Rock, Kurt Angle, Shane McMahon, & Jeff Hardy

Credit or enough stars from Dave Meltzer?

My name is Kurt Angle, and what the heck? I won a Gold medal with a broken freakin neck! That still gets me all these years later.
Loved when he was on the Wrestling Machine gimmick
Kurt should be in the wrestling's Mount Rushmore
Other than Hogan vs Rock, HBK vs Angle is my favourite wrestling match. 🤘
Kurt could simply do it all
I still remember when raw was in Atlanta and Kurt burned jr rider and the hawks. It was so funny
Kurt will always be FAR better than Cena and Reigns Combined 🙌 a pure WRESTLING Machine
It's easy for Kurt to play an idiot when everyone know just how badass Kurt Angle is. Man doesn't have a chip on his shoulder
