I love how Kayla never seems to realize the sims don't like her in-progress houses because she paints the walls as the very last step. It's just the drywall, not the decor.
Actually she does it purposely! I think for some people, having blank walls allows them to decorate how they wish since there's no room color dominating the canvas to start. I'm the opposite and do wall colors first to set my tone (changing them along the way if necessary of course)! Having a truly blank slate overwhelms me!
She did leave a wall unpainted in the kitchen, after assuming it was finished and moved on to the dining/living rooms. It's possible she had wallpapered every other room, then got the bad reaction and didn't notice that kitchen left the living area unfinished.
I love how even without watching New Girl, you got their rooms and personalities almost exact just from the clues the base game gave. Honestly, this is great press, now I want to go in and play this house.

My favorite thing about Mitchell's "poorly decorated" thing is that he's literally wearing a teal and orange t-shirt, which is the whole color scheme. 😆

It actually works out that there is fewer bathrooms because in the show they only have one bathroom, with a toilet stall and a walk in shower that feels like a guy shower.
@@13LesMonXwell I guess the concept of "friends sharing an apartment and being close knit" is very reminiscent of FRIENDS or How I met your mother, but the humour in New Girl is very unique! It doesn't have a laugh track either and is more cut and dry.

Yes. This is an amazing reno. I turned the Spencer Kim Lewis house into a rec centre and redesigned a lot of it and I have family reunions there. I've left a lot of the bathrooms intact and I turned an entire floor into an internet cafe. My Sims have a wall of fame there where they leave their portraits on the wall.

@@16taysia You're not the first to ask actually. No. Not as of yet. It has so much cc and photos of my Sims in it. It needs to be cloned to a new save and stripped back to basics before I do that.
I will never forget the time J Huntington III died in my game by catching on fire making CEREAL. CEREAL. idk how he was making cereal but it was very wrong 😅
With Zoe, you can give her the Charisma skill and have her go into acting in commercials. I also like this house, I would use the center space for an aquarium or a small greenhouse/terrarium, or you can use it for a fountain with a skylight above it, and surround it with decorative columns. and use the space for a small office. I am getting inspired. Maybe I would go into the game and do that to this lot myself. I love the way you are giving the bedrooms personality--in fact, you are giving the whole house personality.

if you’re gonna watch any show, it should be new girl. it’s just so light hearted and funny and sweet. it’s great once you’ve seen it to just put in on as background noise. there’s always something fun happening in each episode…and the eps are short too. definitely worth the watch
I mean the characters in the sims are based on the sitcom and she bases the rooms in their personalities so it makes sense she would nail the rooms a little lol

I LOVE hearing about the kitten updates. I’ve always been an animal person, but growing up we had a dog and my dad was never a cat person. Since finally being able to get my kitten though Ive fallen in love with cats even more and maybe discovered i’m actually a cat person??? Our kittens are about the same age though so getting to see them grow together makes it so much better. 🥺🥺 My kitten will actually be getting spayed end of October, and getting her at about 7 weeks vs her now being almost 7 months always makes me emotional. My baby is growing!!!

I never really think about the roomies and never realized they were a parody of New Girl but I remember visiting their house for the first time after befriending J. and being like yeah… this is a Base Game build 🤣🤣
J was the first sim in the sims 4 that I married. So he has a special place in my heart. Plus he’d keep on being uncomfortable around me because of his non-commitment trait. So it was me doing most of the work in the relationship. But my sim married him and we had 2 sons and lives happily ever after…until I got bored and deleted the safe. When we married he also didn’t get the negative commitment moodlet from marriage. Don’t know if it’s possible to get it, I don’t play with that trait cause it’s annoying, but I thought that was cute of him! And yes I realise I sound deluded talking as if the sims is real life, but I bet you life vicariously through your sims too! :)
Omg I love the bright flowers outside! I do think I liked the original bright flower that you used with the orange and reddish-brown kind of color a little better but only because it reminds me a lot more of the flowers we have where I live. I live in the desert and honestly I hate deserts for not having greenery, but when we do have it, it's totally stunning! We get those really, REALLY vibrant flowers all-year-round
I love what you did to this house!! Actually made it bigger, used the free space on the lot for a cool yard, gave personality to the bedrooms... And no pack or budget restrictions!! That's the spirit :}
my childhood home had a step-down living room. Being in a sunken living room feels SOOOO cozy. i feel so nostalgic towards them but I know a lot of people think they look dated, especially considering the fact that no new houses are built with them. AND it’s hard to imagine how cozy they feel if you’ve never hung out in one. i love adding them to my builds tho bc i get to make up what’s in style LMAO

The first time I ever played the sims I had my sim date J Huntington and the day after they woohooed for the first time my sim went to work. J was still there and was making some food when the stove caught fire and he died right there in my kitchen while my sim was at work and I couldn’t do anything because he wasn’t my sim.
I got The Sims 4 when it first came out and I was really excited about all the emotions and new things then my first baby grew up right into a child… haha nope, back to The Sims 3 I went 😂

I've been building an asymmetrical mid-century modern house on this lot. Granted my builds usually take months because I lose motivation and give into my perfectionism _hard_ when I do build, but it's fun to see what other direction someone can take a build like this

I also renovated the 6 - 4 - 1 hanamigawa lot you made for snowy escape. I love to work with the original shells for sim 4 houses, and I added a couple room as and landscaped the yard because you are right, it needed a back yard. 😅
I could and have watched your content for hours on end. You got me into thredup too and I’m really glad they decided to work with you! I got a jacket from there and it just shipped. I also have work out pants and jeans and a sweater from there and I intend to keep shopping there.

I also renovated this house a few months ago. I kept the centre courtyard, I kept the donut shape of the shared living space but I gave every roommate an ensuite bathroom and the location of their rooms were in the 4 corners of the house for maximum privacy in the bedroom. I was basically thinking about fancy shared villa in Bali where "digital nomads" would live. That was my concept. So the shared living space was indoor-outdoor, and I gave them a pool, hot tub, a lot of party space
When I got my ginger kitten (Orion) my older cats (Logan and Quinn) were about a year and a half old. Logan would ignore Orion, but if he came too close he would hit him. Quinn would always hiss at Orion and run away. I got an Oxytocin (bonding hormone) plugin and it made things progress so much more smoothly after.

It’s so funny how you made a slow introduction with your cats. When I adopted my second cat I was doing that too, but one day I went to college and when I came back my mother had put them together hahahahah By the morning they tried to kill one another but they where sleeping together by night

I have ADHD and playing the sims (my comfort activity) has become a bit of a hard thing to do for me because all the houses in the gallery are two-stories and my ADHD won't let me play on two levels, like that's just overwhelming to me. I would absolutely adore it if you could have like a series of one-story builds! I do not own a lot of packs or kits but I could download the unfurnished version and work with that because I am horrible at bulding and landscaping :( I'm so sorry for the ramble, again, thank you for sharing your builds with us! :)
I used to think J. Huntington was the worst too until I had my sim get involved with him in one game, and I forgot that I put a mod in and was using risky woo-hoo. They ended up having a baby after woo-hooing only once. And to his credit, I left him alone thinking he would naturally abandon his kid like most sims do, but he just kept coming back. Like every day he would just show up and even interacted with his kid on his own. It was the weirdest thing I've ever had happen in my games. So I think he may be a bad bf, but at least in one game he was a good dad. lol
id like to see a renovation like this where you make it like a realistic renovation. like keep the water pipes in similar spots, no changing the outside walls, and minimal interior wall work
In my save game Zoe Patel is actually married to Johnny Zest 😬 they have a son together. I like to think this is going to create eventual conflict with Malcolm over the Landgraab fortune.

I love to work with the original shells for sim 4 houses, and I added a couple room as and landscaped the yard because you are right, it needed a back yard. 😅

I also renovated this house a few months ago. I kept the centre courtyard, I kept the donut shape of the shared living space but I gave every roommate an ensuite bathroom and the location of their rooms were in the 4 corners of the house for maximum privacy in the bedroom. I was basically thinking about fancy shared villa in Bali where "digital nomads" would live. That was my concept. So the shared living space was indoor-outdoor, and I gave them a pool, hot tub, a lot of party space
i love the roomies house! the middle part is so unique and i love filling it with potted plants!

When I got my ginger kitten (Orion) my older cats (Logan and Quinn) were about a year and a half old. Logan would ignore Orion, but if he came too close he would hit him. Quinn would always hiss at Orion and run away. I got an Oxytocin (bonding hormone) plugin and it made things progress so much more smoothly after.

Ok so J Huntington was the literal first Sim I married in the game and I’m obsessed with him. I love him LOL even though he has the noncommittal trait, he’s very sweet to my Sim to this day ❤

Amazing build as always! THank you so much for sharing. I have ADHD and playing the sims (my comfort activity) has become a bit of a hard thing to do for me because all the houses in the gallery are two-stories and my ADHD won't let me play on two levels, like that's just overwhelming to me. I would absolutely adore it if you could have like a series of one-story builds! I do not own a lot of packs or kits but I could download the unfurnished version and work with that because I am horrible at bulding and landscaping :(

I used to think J. Huntington was the worst too until I had my sim get involved with him in one game, and I forgot that I put a mod in and was using risky woo-hoo. They ended up having a baby after woo-hooing only once. And to his credit, I left him alone thinking he would naturally abandon his kid like most sims do, but he just kept coming back. Like every day he would just show up and even interacted with his kid on his own. It was the weirdest thing I've ever had happen in my games. So I think he may be a bad bf, but at least in one game he was a good dad. lol
Mitchell will always have a special place in my heart I always use to make my sims date him
