- Happy New Year! Not much snow but I am just itching to get out there and perform a test run of the snow removal equipment on my Kubota LX2610 compact tractor. Lots of debris on the driveway from recent storms so a quick pass with the Land Pride RB1672 Hydraulic Rear Blade will clear it out for me, along with a little bit of snow. We'll see if we have enough snow at the end of the driveway to fire up the LX2980 Front Mount Blower. Hope you will hang out with me for a few minutes. Let's go for a drive!

Ahhhhh…. You Canadians and your love of snow never fails to intrigue a guy like me GP !! Looks like all systems are a go …. So we will pray to the snow gods for you. Be safe. Stay warm and another Happy New Year to you and yours.
LOL! Just itching for a BIG snowfall T!!
Ditto my friend above, living in the 70s Fahrenheit the last week, not so weather merry Christmas, but the spirit was very strong for both Christmas and the new year. So to the dogs with the high temperatures as we will join you next week in freezing temps. I took my time during the elevated temps to cut some hay I hadn’t cut last fall and improve my winter garden of broccoli, spinach and garlic. So busy but sweating ironically. Cheers and happy new year GP!
Wow. Your gravel blower really works well. You should be able to blow snow with it too. 😒
LOL! Yup, a few cringing noises there for sure. :) Cheers Ian!
That's exactly my set up w a 2650 4x4.n that's what I did last week n my neighbors thought I was nuts.but they just don't know the why.getting rid of the junk doesn't put it threw my blower.
Happy New Year, Gord! Your snow elimination devices appear to be working well as your snow season arrives. It’s funny how snow clearing videos are so calming. Well done my friend! Wishing you and your family all the best in 2022!
Hey Happy New Years Martin! Hope you had a good one!
Snow and the New Year go together with a hot cup of chocolate. Every season has its wonder. Have a good one, Gord, and for all of us.
Two thumbs Bay! HNY!
Real winters seem to have disappeared around us. Thanks for letting us live vicariously! 😂. Happy New Year GP! 🎉🥂🎊
Cheers Courtney! Hoping for a lot more soon..:))
I would like to see you take part in Courtney's anti stick experiment as well. Lol
Here we are in the New Year, Cheers God and all watching!
Those first five words in the title says it all and it's the truth! This is what snow is for, to play in. I gotta run right now, I'll be back to watch all of this one later in the day,. .things to do, places to go!
Back again: That rear angling blade does the job nicely, doesn't it? But, I have the snow blower mounted on the rear of my tractor and 6 1/2 foot snow plow on the front . This works for my jobs too.
You, like me, and perhaps the rest of the folks here who enjoy snow plowing, are all waiting for some snow, so we can start having fun.
Cheers Gord!
HNY Reg! Yup, me too. I am just itching for a big snowfall. Stay safe and well!
The blower is obviously more cool to play with, but that rear blade sure makes quick work of that long gravel drive.
Nice vid Gord. Bet your itching for more snow to get that skidoo out!
Good day GP, Yes that is not a lots of snow for sure ( look like it is like that in Northeastern America !!! ) Well Except Me and Grampie's I think 🤔 Yes you rear chains make a big diffrence 😉👌👍 Great courageous camera close view 👌👍🧐 FULL WATCH 🧐👌👍 ALL THE BEST TO YOU AND ALL YOUR LOVE ONES MON AMI CHEERS 😇🙏👌😉 🍻
When snow blowing my like to use the back blade turned all the way around (backward) to smooth out the road
Works great and does not dig in. Give it a try you will not pick up any rock that way.nice to see canadian content
Thanks Richard! I have in the past but found this blade only weighs about 285 lbs and would just lift up . With the hydraulic angle kit, it can't be swung backwards anymore ( the way I installed it). But thanks for the great suggestion!
I just had our driveway and garage pad built up early in the fall so it hasn’t had time to pack down much yet.
I cut a slit in a piece of 3” abs pipe and slid it over the back blade. It works great to slide over the fresh gravel since it’s still since it is still fairly loose and not frozen yet.
GP, in your outro, you actually looked like an 'attachment' to your tractor with that vivid orange and black jacket 'n pants!
Lol. ! Ahh?... You ARE !! LOL !!!
Enjoy the snow, been rainin here 2 days straight!
Happy New Year, to you guys inthe GWN,, nothing but rain here in the coal country, Stay safe and smile
Happy New year Skeets!
Perfect tool for removing that little skiff of snow!
I commented on a 4 yr old video of yours yesterday. I googled “How to replace a shear pin on a Kubota front blower” and your video was the ONLY one of the 10 or so that I checked that mentioned if the augers should be lined up the same or with one at 180° around. It was was Guy that saved the day with a comment on how they should be staggered and not both blow into the impeller at the same time.
Thanks for being there in my time of need!!
My tractor is up and blowing again in case we actually get snow this winter. And I’m sure we will here in NS. Happy new year to you and your family and Guy!
Happy New Years Andrew! Yup, Guy has saved me too many times. Very thankful to have his smarts and experience - I would have never known otherwise. Hope you and your family had a nice New Years!
Happy New Year GP!. We are is desperate for snow that we plow anything over 1 inch. Hahahaha. Please do not hog the snow.
LOL! Happy New Year JH!
Happy new year!
Heyhey Gord I glad you are finally getting some snow. We have been buried here. The most I have seen in the 23 winters that I have been here. Take care.
Great job Gord, stay warm and safe.
Happy New Year Gord! Great video to watch over my first 2022 coffee! We were up at our place in the Lanark Hylands for a walkabout and winter bonfire (complete with marshmallows) yesterday. The amount of snow there is very similar to what you have - just enough to bring out the beauty of the landscape! Not much left down at our place north of Kingston but still enough to be white. Looks like we have a bit more on the way tonight and tomorrow so hopefully we’ll have a chance for more tractor time soon! Wishing the very best for you and yours in 2022!
Hey good day Dave- that's great. LOL. I was never a big fan of the marshmallows but the kids still like it - I prefer some weiners...:) LOL. Glad to hear you got some time there. Still no snow to speak of. Crazy winter weather. Be well!
Funny you should say that - I’m not a big fan of the ‘mallows either! I didn’t take wieners on that occasion but I had a nice healthy apple and a bit of cheese while the others satisfied their sweet tooth LOL! Crazy weather indeed - finally some colder weather and a few cm here and there over the next 2 weeks but still no major snowfall in the forecast. You might be able to put the FEL back on earlier than expected if this keeps up! Cheers!
THATS not a real snow?! 🤣
Nice job, GP. Happy new year!
LOL! Cheers Ed!
We have been so lucky this year. I am in your neck of the woods & have the L spruced it up this year with chains / blower & a pusher and no snow ! Lol.
good video Gord everything looks like it is in tip top shape your are ready for old man winter take care and have a great day
Wishing for snow.......and a cab ! HNY, GP 🤓
Good Morning G.P. Thanks for the Content and kind personality.... Happy New Year to you and your Family. 👍👍
HNY P!
Always enjoy your snow videos. Can't wait to see more. Have a good day GP see ya on the next one
Thanks SM! HNY to you!
Happy new year GP to you and all of your familly!
So great to hear from you Richard! I hope you are still getting time at your property and enjoying it. Happy New Years to you and your family!
Of course, still enjoy it so much! Cheers.
Really enjoy "riding with you" as you plow your road. Very pretty landscape. Noticed you are wearing the Kinco gloves. How are you liking them? Steve from Minnesota
Hey Steve. I am loving them. I just need to get some serious time on the wood pile with them, to see if I can rip them. Have a great week!
HAPPY NEW YEAR...Awesome channel. This is the first time I've commented. I have been watchin for a while. I'm here in Green Bay Wisconsin. Last April I bought the LX2610 with the cab. I love this tractor. I bought the R14 tires. they say they're good in snow. I am wondering if that hydrostatic whine you commented on when you first bought the tractor ever let up? Mine sure hasn't . It's honestly the only complaint I have.
HNY WR! Thanks so much for saying Hi! Sadly, nope. It has not changed. But I wear hearing protection now - primarily IsoTunes and I don't hear it much at all. Several folks have told me when we get to the 400 hour maintenance and have to replace all the hydro fluid, that the whine will decrease so I am hoping they are correct. Congrats on the new tractor and thanks again for watching!
Made quick work of that. Yup I need that blade! We got our first real snow here Also and I "practiced" a bit with my blower. Haha. HNY GP!
How's she goin'? It's nice to get the first plowing done eh. It establishes the borders and you find all the stuff you forgot to move before the snow came!! LOL Hopefully it doesn't mild up now and melt all the snow banks. Happy New Year and take care!!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR.....
Happy New Year to you and your family.
We have had a few big snows here in Northern MN
Happy New Year Gord and all of your families. What a way to start the New Year here in Deep East Texas, watching you doing a snow removal equipment test run and I'm needing to fire up my lawn mower because the spring weeds are growing like crazy. It's a great day, we were able to go see our son yesterday, they transferred him to a physical rehab facility and he's being worked on and looks better and feeling better too and they figure they will be about 2 weeks before he can be sent home. You folks stay safe up there and continue the great videos. Fred.
LOL. Lawn mower - so funny to hear that Fred. But really happy to hear your son is making good progress. I am sure you all can't wait for him to be home again. Wish him the best!
Have a great year Gord
Happy 2022! It's +2 here today, might put my shorts on! Haha. Thanks for sharing as usual Gord. Looking forward to all your content this year and maybe we should have a meetup!
Happy New Year!! Another wonderful tractor video on the first day of 2022!!🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
Thanks Dean! HNY!
God Bless and Happy new year
Thanks for sharing
Happy Holidays to you and your Family.
70 here in Sc USA. But I always enjoy your vids!
Based on my vast knowledge of snow clearing (that I've learned on this channel) it looks like the scraper was clearing down to just about the perfect level! Nice job Gord! 👍❄😎
Now if only I could get some real snow Chris! :))
Another great video GP. I really appreciate the great camera work in your videos, the camera positioning and angels along with the great editing make all of your videos a real pleasure to watch. Keep up with the great content. Happy New Year. Cheers.
Thanks very kindly SJ!
Will be doing same thing today GP, we got about 5” overnight ❄️👍
Lucky Bob!! I am just itching to get a half decent snowfall!! Cheers and have fun.
Greetings Gord,Happy New Year to you and your family,Lee here, I really like the hydraulic angle on your back blade, I agree with you its nice to start to plow snow again. This is the first time in all of your videos i have seen traffic on your gov't road, and not only one vehicle but two, would you consider that as a day of heavy traffic LOL, you and your family keep well, later
LOL! HNY Lee! Lots of traffic and a blind corner...:)) Have a great 2022!
HAPPY NEW YEAR 🍻 G.P..................... Luke'n lyk yuz fyn-lee getts'n sum snow ! Be Safe and Have Fun ! Cheers !
Perhaps you could increase your visibility on the main road with a roof top strobe light? Those flashers don't do much for your average driver coming over that hill. I have one on my tractor and feel a little safer when on the state road at my place. Happy New Year to you and your family. Thanks for all the great vids.
A great idea Ronald. I will think on it further and check the height of my shed. Cheers!
@@GPOutdoors I believe your model comes prewired for a strobe. I also believe they make brackets that fold down to keep the garage clearance.
Thanks Ronald! I didn't know that - I'll check it out.
Happy New Year from Pittsburg NH. I did the exact same thing last week.
HNY John!
Happy New Year to you and your family Gord. Temperatures are plus 2 this morning in Kawartha so what little snow we have is melting however temperatures are projected to drop tonight and should bring a little snow with it too. I’m hoping there will be enough for me to get the tractor out and put it to work! Cheers,
Me too Simon - just waiting for a good snowfall!
We’ve had temps above freezing for the last few days so I spent the morning using my blade to scrape down some of the ice and slush on my driveway and used the bucket to push back some of the snow banks while I can! Happy New Year Gord!
Happy New Year to you and your family Charlie! Thanks for the pics. :))
The only snow we get in western Pennsylvania, comes in the form of rain .
Happy new year GP 👍👍🇺🇸
HNY Glenn!
Thank you
Great video. I am jealous of your setup for snow removal. Have a Happy New Year
Happy New Year Larry!
Have you thought about R14’s? Rears are pricey tho. For the fronts the R14’s are the exact same size as the R4’s which is 23 x 8 but different rim size. Anyway my fronts should be here this week, so I will have them on the fronts and R4’s on the rear until the rears get in. Going to measure them to make extra sure they are the same diameter as the R4’s so I don’t bugger up the drivetrain in 4WD.
Happy new year!! Spring Lake Michigan hasn’t had enough snow yet to blow. My Honda 1332 is crying in the garage right now.
Wow, all that snow, down here we have not had a cold day in December that is unusual but nice to day January 1 it’s 70 degree. But I know it won’t last. Have a happy new year GP.
Happy New Year Ron!
And he’s off to the races
Just need some snow! :))
Happy New Year
Cheers C2!
Hey Gord Happy New Year!!! Sounds like the tractor is getting more quiet less wine on the HST. Have you noticed or are you changing it in editing? Looking forward to a Great 2022!!! 😁👍🚜💨💡
LOL! Honestly, I don't think it has changed much. In this vid I didn't do any audio from in the cab. Folks have suggested that when I do the fluid change at 400 hours , that I will notice a big difference but I am still a ways from there. Cheers!
Wouldn’t you know it, getting much colder this coming week and I am traveling for work! Hopefully we don’t get much snow while I am gone!
Around here in Gloucester, Ma we've only had a light dusting of snow. Last year this week we had about 15" on the ground! Being able to rotate the blade from the cab is a nice feature! Happy New Year and Best Regards, Jay
Happy New Years Jay!
Nice job 👍
HNY to you and your family GP. I was doing the same thing to my driveway getting ready for some rain we are supposed to get then change to snow, 7" hopefully. Can't wait for your next video. Cheers
HNY PJ! Hoping for lots more snow here too!
Happy new year buddy
Happy new year GP.
hey Happy New Year W55! Great to hear from you.
Here in Central New York I haven't even fired up the tractor yet. there's been no snow to this point and it's 55° today
Great Video, Gord! Happy New Year to you and Carol too. Let's hope 2022 doesn't turn out to be 2020(2)! Cheers!
Fingers crossed Michael. Sadly, my daughter got it a few days ago. Very painful and difficult new years and we are all quarantined now. All the best to you and yours my friend- stay safe!
@@GPOutdoors I am sorry to hear that Gord. I wish her a speedy recovery and good health for the rest of your family. Peace!
Happy New Year Gord. The temperatures are supposed to go below freezing tonight. I hope they stay there this time. Plus 5 yesterday and everything is too soft to do anything.
Hydraulic angle on the rear blade is a perfect feature.
Interesting to see the amount of snow building up on your front tires, vs rear tires. I guess that's because of the rear knocking it off.
Ya 4wd vs 2wd
Happy New Year GP! Looking forward to another year of great UA-cam content.
Just a thought and not knowing what the Canadian road rules are but it seems you (and other motorists) might benefit from one of those amber/amber or amber/white low profile LED flashing lights on the cab roof. We put them on our little Gators (metal cabs, magnetic mount) and they're dirt cheap on Amazon but quite impressive for light output. Cheers!
Hey thanks - HNY to you too! Not required by law but I did buy one that plugged into the 12v on the dash for my B2601. I have not thought much about one for the lx2610 but in the meantime, I turn all my led work lights on - both front and back - as well as the headlights and hazards. A flasher , properly installed might be a good idea - I just have to check the height of the shed first. Thanks for the great idea!
@@GPOutdoors Ah yes, the shed height. I didn't even think about that. Swamy says, "I see a bigger shed in your future!" :)
I always clean up around 10-20 feet of the driveway near the road first... just seems to be less of a hassle of not having a mess on or around the road entrance. Nice vid GP
Good call Randal! Cheers!
GP and family have a happy new year and be safe Through the new year
Thanks Steven! You too!
Hi GP,
Happy New Year to you and yours! I'm still loving your videos after these few years now. You always make me smile.
Take care, and stay safe. Peace.
Would it help or hinder, to add a set of skis or skids on that back blade? A low budget trial set up could be an old leaf spring, cut to 8" long heat and beat/ bend 1" from each end so they don't dig in in either direction roughly 30 degrees. You bolt angle iron perpendicular to the length of the skid or you can weld an ear on the skid, either method would want an ear on front and back side of the blade's cutting edge, one through pin or bolt holds it onto the blade. The cutting edge would sit on top of the skid with one ear on the front side of the blade and one ear on the back side of the blade.
Thanks for the great suggestion MA! I can buy a set of skid shoes but I don't have a need for them - I need the blade to scrape the ground after the ground is frozen and throughout the winter. IN the summer , I use it for grading so skid shoes would not be helpful, I think. Thanks so much for the idea. Cheers!
Happy New year GP. Cheers,🎊
happy new year gord
une joyeuse année à toi GP et ta famille.
Nice vid.
Happy New Year to you and your family and all your subs.
yesterday I finally got the rear chains on...not too much of a chore. now for the fronts...lol well that was a bit of a pain... didn't end up getting them on yet, maybe I'll try it with just the rears on and see.
also picked up the Oxlog but have not yet had time to try it out fully, also new toplink but cat 0 to try an experiment with quick hitch. not sure how far you are from me but we have not had much snow and currently 0 C out now , very little snow left. strange season .
what other goodies you picked up?
Keep up the great work.
Glenn.
Hey GP, you may have answered this before and I missed it, but why didn't you build your shed a little deeper so the entire tractor fit under it? Are you planning to extend it? That blower works amazingly well. Quite a throw. Cheers.
HI Paul - HNY! If I built it bigger I would have had to apply for a building permit so we built it right to the limit not requiring it. Great question - take care!
@@GPOutdoors Understand. Wanted to build one large shed on my property. Requirements were so unreasonable, so I built two of the size allowed w/o permit. Why build one when you can have two at 150% of the original cost… 😀 Cheers.
Great job--gotta love the sound of gravel going through the blower early in the season! When you snow blow do you run in 4WD or are the chains enough? What do you do to the blower after you are done ? Love the channel.
Good day Andy. LOL! Yup the pinging makes me cringe but lots of leaves and debris cleared out now. I can clear in both but I often use 4wd as I get better turning traction. When done, I always clear all the snow out of the box and augers as well as the chain area. Otherwise it turns hard and into ice on me. Have a good one!
Hi Gord! I’m going back and forth between a 60 and a 72 rear blade for my B2601. I have a box blade for doing my heavy duty driveway work in the summer, so the rear blade is primarily for snow. When you had your B2601 did you ever feel it was to much and wished you went with a 60? Are those different shoes on your snow blower? They look longer than the stock ones. Thanks and have a great day!
Hopefully the snow will come... winter has been very different in the last few years. I was wondering, do you put any diesel fuel additive during the winter or any other season?
You bet - I use a product from Kleen Flo - it's just called Diesel Conditioner. It only needs a tiny bit - about 10 ml on each tank. I have never had a gelling problem so I think it is working. Plus up here, we have "winter Diesel". I am not sure what they put in it to make it "winter" but between the two I have always been a-ok.
Happy New Year! Really enjoy your snow clearing videos so I can pick up tips on how to clear myself as a new tractor owner. I noticed that you are not running front wheel chains today. I thought you ran chains on all 4 tires last year? how does using only a single pair of rear wheel chains compare to using 2 pair? What about using only front wheel chains on a 4 wheel drive tractor? Another UA-camr has a Kubota L and he is only using front chains because he explained that he was concerned about clearance without spacers and his front only chains seems to work for him. I am on fence whether I even need chains but if decide to purchase them, was thinking about starting with front wheels first and testing that first to keep the cost down.
The opinion regarding chains on the front seems to be split about 50/50. Some people recommend them, others don't. Their reasoning is it places too much torque on the front axle, which can result in problems. I've run chains on my tractor on just the back, and had them on both the back and front. When I had chains on the front (and the back at the same time), I've never had a problem with "too much torque", or seen anything to suggest that it'd cause a problem. Perhaps that's due in part because I drive appropriately with chains on. Anything will cause problems if they're not used appropriately. I will say that when I had chains on all four tires, the tractor was an absolute BEAST! Didn't slip in the snow whatsoever, had no problems going up/down my steep driveway, and had no problem getting back on the driveway when I drove off the edge. When I run chains on just the back, it's about 85% beast mode. The tires might sleep an inch or two before they grab a hold and get going. Not quite the unstoppable tank it is with all 4 chains, but very capable. Running with just back chains, I've never gotten stuck or even into a situation where I thought there was a chance I could. I wouldn't recommend putting chains on just the front. There's not enough weight on the front axle alone, to really get the benefit out of them. Sure they would help some, bit you'll see much more benefit from putting them on the rear tires. If you're unsure about getting them, do it. They make a WORLD if difference. So much better, so much easier, so much safer. I've had times where the tractor slid down the driveway, and other times when I couldn't get it back up. Those days are a thing of the past. I'd recommend getting back chains for your tractor. Save the money and don't bother with front chains. I think you'll find they're more than adequate. (I don't even out the front chains on anymore, unless they're calling for 24"+). And yes, clearance between the rear wheels and fender could be a concern for big chains. But most times, you'll be fine. If mud can clear the wheel well, so can the chains. And if you're still concerned about clearance, get a pair of chains that are thinner like the aquiline MPC.
Happy new year GP. Enjoyed your video I have the same set up I my B2650. What I did was to offset the blade one set a holes. It made a big difference on The width I could plow my driveway.
Hi Gord, I was just curious how wide your front gate and drive are? I am planning to install a gate at the front of my property in the Spring and am consideering a 16 foot wide gate and a 12 foot wide drive going into the property. Yours looks to be the perfect width. Thanks - and keep the great videos coming.
HI Nick. The gate is only about 12' wide as is some of the driveway. It tends to narrow to 7 or 8 feet in some areas but generally about 8-10' overall. Big trucks can get down but have to be careful coming through the gates and some of the turns. A little wider would have been helpful for sure. Good luck with your build!
Happy New Year Gord !! One Question . Do the stones on your driveway and road snap the shear pins on your blower often?. My Blower goes through pins like they were breakfast !!lol They even snap if I'm going too fast in deeper snow .
Wow. Never gravel as I usually don;t blow unless the ground is frozen, however as the ground freezes, rocks and small boulders get pushed up into the driveway and that has caused me numerous sheer pins. So a couple of years ago, I started walking the driveway as the ground was getting cold and threw any rocks off the driveway before the snow. It has helped immensely. Cheers!
How many hours on the tractor now?
just under 200 now C2!
How do you power your cabin ?
Solar system Chris! :)
Do you use the metal edge or some other material on the blade?
Morning Tony. Just the metal edge. HNY!
Gravel in the blower always cringe worthy! 59 thou subs. Your picking up speed ! Way to go G P
👍👍👍
I have the same blade on my Kioti ck4010se. Have you created a video on the hydraulic link you have on it? That would be a great upgrade!
HI Andrew. Yes there are two of them - #337 and after some good feedback from subscribers, I learned that I put teflon tape on some of the coupler fittings when I should not have, so I issued out video #344 to correct it. Hope they are helpful!
@@GPOutdoors you are the man GP! Thank you sir!
Curious to know if your machine has ever broken a shear pin by catching gravel when the ground isn't quite frozen. Maybe that only happens on smaller machines??
He Paul. Not on gravel alone, but in the early years I would snap them on small rocks and boulders that push up when the ground freezes and contracts. ( the first winter, I believe I broke 6 or 7). So I learned to start walking the driveway as the freeze sets in and throw those rocks out before the snows. So far , I have not snapped one in two winters ( fingers crossed).
I want one
Happy new year GP, do you happen to have the link to where you got that hydrolic turn kit for your rear blade? Thanks.
First!
