PS, I know it seems tedious, but to make sure I’m actually learning, instead of going into your collab to duplicate anything, I’m trying to build everything from scratch and I’m having SO MUCH FUN. Some fury with technical stuff, but learning this at 41 is a fun challenge!!
That’s awesome! Huge props to you, I know I do the exact same thing. There’s some more complicated stuff that I didn’t record videos for in the bundle… Definitely check it out so you can try to deconstruct it and see what you’ll learn. I did that early on in my career with some of the advanced scripters who taught me. And it was a huge help and helped unblock a few challenging aspects of scripting :)

I’ll be giving you tutorial credit for the key frames so people can come learn from you, I swear your key frame episode solved like 10 of my problems 😂 ok, 4, but it was still a lot!

I just realized, while talking about capacity, why the noodle? they are invisible anyway, so why not the cheapest shape?! (I think it's triangles but I'll go check out your capacity info before trying this out!! I'll comment back with what I find about capacity!)

ALSO: A cool trick I've tried is using an enter/exit trigger to slow player movement (not too much) while on the ladder! makes a cool (somewhat real) experience of climbing!
That’s awesome! After making this video, someone did actually discover that you can use the sharp edge cubes, they just have to be slanted in the inverse direction 🤓

I made a fair-sized ladder (I'd say maybe tree house size ... but not sky scrapper size!) and it does work well with the triangle shape! I made a few different ones and made a small word to share how I did it ( it's pretty simple and doesn't "need" an explanation but it was fun and I hope it helps others! the world is called "Ladder & Climbable Depo" in this world I explain capacity too, I made 100 of these standard sized ladders and got 84% object capacity and 42% Geometric complexity (so that's about 0.48% and 0.42% for each ladder)

I heard you can do this with squares not just noodles, I believe that is what he means...need to try this and see if it requires more objects...could save a lot of vertices :D

So, to clarify, as of now, nothing is “clickable/grabbable” while being static, correct, and these work around are the only way to accomplish that? So good to know, thanks! Also, off topic, but is the only way to link your own worlds together, to wait until they are published and then use a world door? I ask because some building my worlds as levels of an adventure, but I’d love it to be more fluid, like walk through a door, go to the next world, but it seems like the player will have to click “visit world” each time, right? Thanks again for your videos!!
Correct, theoretically you could script a climb-able-ladder using invisible grabbables, and then have a platform that is locally scripted move underneath based on the amount of pull. This would be very difficult and for that reason I haven’t done it. 😅
I believe you can also do this when the world is published as unlisted. That way you can get the door early on. I saw in crashsite by Victor Riddel, he made the computer screen look like you were engaging with it by putting the door behind it so when you clicked the visit world button you were engaging with a digital screen. Definitely check that out :-)

MMM.... ok it sort of works, but when i stop in the middle, i begin to slowly slide down.
I actually like that, it feels more real, like you could change your mind and go down :)
But if you make the jump ladder (seen at the beginning), you are standing on rungs and would therefore not fall :)
