Man I know this 5 years ago but ty. Only one I can find to walk me through. Problem I’m having is when inverter is on apu won’t kick on when it drop below 12.5. It drops to 11.5 then it kicks on kicks my inverter off and getting E05 error. Hopefully changing settings will fix it

11.5 is a normal voltage cutoff for inverters. Definitely have your batteries tested individually, check your ground and possibly replace the battery cables going from the battery to the inverter with larger gauge cables. Also make sure the positive and negative cables are not connected to the same battery. For a 3000 watt inverter I would recommend no less than 0/1 awg cables.

I honestly do not know. When I made this video I was using windows 7. All you had to do was plug in the usb cord and open it like a thumb drive. I was never able to access the program on windows 10. I no longer have the unit. Just a fair warning, the unit isn’t designed to cool much below 72°, especially on extremely hot days. If you don’t get the desired result, I would suggest a second unit that can run off battery. I paid $800 for my unit and when it can’t keep up my carrier unit will start up and bring the temperature down. It’s been a godsend, since I have a menopausal woman on the truck with me.

Do you have to download something the get to the settings? I just huck it to my laptop it doesn't do nothing. And do you have to have internet?

You can try going to my computer and looking for a Drive E,F or G. If you go through all the comments there may be a program that you have to download, thanks to windows 10 and above. It worked fine on Windows 7. Unfortunately I never was able to get it to work on windows 10.

Try 4444 that is the default password that thermoking installs.

Have you found a way to have a delay from the time before the APU shuts off when cycling the key. My truck you have to turn key to run in order to roll down window and then it kills apu every time. Looking for say a 1 min delay before the APU shuts off

Your windows should roll down on auxiliary, if not, Add a toggle switch that will bypass the key on, just remember to flip it when you want it to run.

Clinton Kirker nope won’t roll down on Aux this is on a kenworth t680 company truck so can’t modify wiring and such. Appreciate your quick replay Clinton

My tripac evolution 2017 it runs great all over the country except, Wyoming, part of Colorado, it smoke and engine popping with white smoke smells like unburnt diesel. Any ideas on what might be wrong with it thst will be so appreciated. Thx in advance

Check your glow plugs. It’s easy to do. All you need to do is remove them and connect them to a 12 volt source. If it doesn’t turn orange, it is defective.And since both areas mentioned are in the higher elevations, you may need to have your fuel adjusted.

@@clintonkirker5154 thank you for writing me back, i did change the glow plugs and the fuel pump and filter and the screen filter as well. I even toke it to thermo king for updating the software and no luck , tje crazy part is ,i be parked next to others in WYOMING and their ApU runs perfect. Its so crazy . You mentioned that i need to adjust the fuel how we do that is that something through the computer software?

@@freedomfighter9046 The best thing to do would be to find a Thermo King in the areas that you’re having trouble with the APU. That way they can duplicate the issue. Adjusting the fuel is not something that I would recommend unless you were certified/qualified to do it. When you are in higher elevations the APU requires less fuel, because there’s less oxygen.

I hooked up the USB and can bring up the menu, but all it does is read loading values and crash the exe file. Did you run into this at all?

windows 10 doesn't seem to like thermo king or Vice versa. It occasionally crashes on windows 7, but I just start the program over.

Albert Hutchings from what I was told by somebody else, the program is not compatible with windows 10. I’m running windows 7 and have not had any trouble.

mine doesn't have start.dat all it has is emc_ws which says when opened up tripac II webserver starting up and does nothing. 2 start files one a batch file and the other html. autorun setupinformation file and script file. tryed changing compatibility on every one and nothing works....

I dont know if it will work with older tri paks their might be different versions to the program from newer to older but cant hurt to try. Just dont mess anything up and blame me. Lol

frank Gutierrez you should have a usb cable coming out of the control box under the sleeper. If you are using windows 7.x or below, just plug the usb cable into your computer open the correct drive and click on start.dat

HKH TRUCKING INC I no longer have a thermo king apu. Thermo king states that the engine idle speed is to be around 1900 rpms. It’s not like a carrier apu, they idle at a much higher rpm.

It comes from the factory with that password. However if somebody else had access to it they could have changed it.

It should already be attached to the black box that controls your apu. It’s just a USB cable

I wouldn’t attempt to delete the files. But if you did they should be in your trashcan folder on your laptop. If you do delete the files I would assume that the APUWould still run, however you wouldn’t be able to adjust any of the settings. I’m just speculating.

All I had to do was plug the USB cord into my computer. But I was using Windows 7. If you read the other comments, I believe you get it from Thermo King I have no idea if they charged or not.

@@Benni711 I made this video in 2017 you are not the first one to tell me this since then. At the time I purchased my apu from tk they were not forth coming with that information.

@@Benni711 That makes sense. I purchased my TK in April 2016. You would’ve thought as a customer they would’ve sent me an email or a snail mail letter informing me of this. It’s all good. I no longer have a TK APU. The truck that unit was installed on was destroyed in February 2019. My new truck has a carrier APU and other than the heating I am actually happier with this unit. It cools better in the summer and I have less issues with it freezing up.I do miss having their service net work, because carrier is nowhere near as large.

@@Benni711 So far it hasn’t been a problem. The only non-maintenance issue I have had with this unit was the generator. For some reason the mounts broke on it, but it was still under warranty. I Maintain a 1300 hour service interval for oil and filters plus an oil bypass filter. The oil still gets dark, but unlike most Diesel engine oil, it wipes right off leaving almost no soot on your hands. The reason for 1300 hours is because I change the oil every six months and that’s pretty much what I have on the engine at that time. I’m coming up on 6000 hours now. So the next service interval will be around late February or early March.
