- This is an acetate I grabbed from crugga records' ebay shop several years ago. I'm pretty sure it was once owned by a big named dnb dj who unloaded it (as well as other dubs) at the shop awhile back. I can honestly say I have no idea who this track is by or if it even was released! It's definitely a deep roller that sounds very similar to what was coming out around late '96-early '97. There's some pretty intricate drum programming going on that allows the song to roll along fairly steadily. The pads are very moody without being too dark or distracting, and there's some nice piano stabs that complement them throughout. For all I know it could've been a track an up-and-coming producer gave to a dj at the time, or it actually could've been something that came out....we may never know!
woow! it sounds like a 180bpm+ roller, that's pretty obscure for the time it was released!
This sounds a lot like early UK style DnB. I would guess its a Dub from Total Science, Grooverider or one of the Metalheadz kids from back then. The drums are a bit fast but it has a lot of their influence in it. Dillinja also released a lot of weird shit when he was starting out around this circa.
I would pay alot of money for this.
@tubemech yes they do still exist. I cut there 3 weeks ago. Leon still works there. Proper legend!
@FOCUSLONDON thanks for the response mate! I'm wondering if this just so happens to be the plate you cut...I know the other side of it is blank. Let me know if you want me to send over a high quality version of it. Cheers -Nick
Sure this is from 1996/97??? It sounds more like 98 and past. The only DnB producers back then with such massive Breakz were Dillinja, Lemon D....Krust...Dom Agnus....
Has definitely a Metalheadz type sound to it....deserves a release.
I recongnise the sample in the intro "he's into that spiritual stuff" its from david blain street magic. Now if we find when that was made, we have got an approximat date for when the track was recorded.
Large up bro! I like this one!
heavy fantastic stuff me love dis style and fashion
Great song, it sounds to me like Paradox. Good luck!
@FOCUSLONDON I remember the rude awakening days when spinning from drayton park :P happy days!

@FOCUSLONDON Big up the 104.9!! Great days they were. Pedro, Rankin, Facs, Rollin Matt - plenty others... :)

David blane's street magic first aired on May 19, 1997.

Glad u saved it.
@tubemech about 20 quid for a 2-sided 10". I've been cutting there for a few years tho.
Those drums and bass lines reminds me of 95-96 sound I would guess Doc Scott or Danny Breaks
nice find
... Beeeeeanooo-o-o-oh
I can smell the acetate.
nice man
Is it possible to upload a version without crackles and dust? Especially without the intro, that would be lovely thanks.

... dub plates without crackles are like a woman without breasts
@@stevenchampion8137 Agreed to disagree. Sounds like a mismanagement of priceless possessions to me, it's better to clean it soon rather than to let it soak up dust and then the dust is forever stuck to the grooves.
John B?
aaah man, im looking for this tune around 1997, its got a really simple drumloop, but the bassline is awesome sounds like the last note of it quivers. cant for the life of me think wats its called or who by. maybe grooverider did but ive checked and still cant find it. pleeeeese help cos its doin my tree in!

Check out ‘Space Age’ by Alaska & Paradox.
I’m not saying THIS IS DEFINITELY Alaska / Paradox. But it’s not a million miles from the sort of thing he makes and then doesn’t release.
