This would have been an exciting finals match. I think the more athletic heavy weights do better against gable. I don’t think hell struggle at all in the finals.
Seems like Kerkvliet is the only heavy weight in the country Gable actually respects. Rewatched their high school match after this: ua-cam.com/video/5hj0DzpK6-8/v-deo.html Not a bold prediction: Gable shows out and absolutely murders Cohlton Shultz in the finals.
The last "take down" shows the utter fatigue of Gable's opponent, both men gassing so hard. I know Gable is "the best" but even he has way too much fat around his middle.
They actually mentioned that in the arena where you can’t hear it on the mics on the mat. in the 2nd or 3rd forgot because I was stunned with all the mayhem there.
I think something is wrong with gable… both quarter and semi finals he looked super slow and lethargic compared to how he normally is. Wonder if he’s sick or injured.
@@thomasgarnica1202 yeah I’m not even factoring in the competition I know these guys are all studs, but I’m just talking about his movement and explosiveness… doesn’t look quite right to me
Imagine calling an Olympic gold medalist unskilled lmfaooo. He's quite literally double the size of any lightweight and still has over 100 lbs on any middleweight
@@henryschwob5989 he has no comprehension of the fact that a lot of lighter weight moves don't work at heavyweight. Some positions you can wrestle out of as a lightweight you get squashed like a bug then pinned or taken down at heavyweight. He should stop talking now.
National Champ and Olympic Gold is overrated??? I hope to God you’re trolling. He is one of the best talents out of the US in the last 10-15 years regardless of weight class.
2-2 at the end of the second round was a victory of sorts for Kerkvliet. He done good.
He had a couple of offensive sports he just couldn’t finish. He’s gotten gable closer to trouble then I’ve seen in a while
@@ghostrunner2138 in nearly if not over 3 years when he did lose to Anthony C. From penn state at ncaas
The mutual respect🥺
Yeah, was awesome to see. Steveson is just so good, but Kerkliviet looked awesome. He will challenge for championship next year.
@@dunkelwalde695 cant wait to see them compete again
Shook hands 5 times that match
Kerk is a great wrestler! Come back to Minnie next year and win a title at home please! That would be sweet!
They went against each other in High school too!

Well after this and the Cohlton match, I am excited to see Kerk vs Cohlton next year for the finals
Facts! Because they shoot more and are faster
Just great, great sportsman ship in the end.
Greg Kerkvliet, PSU, 2023 NCAA DIVISION I INDIVIDUAL 285lb. WRESTLING CHAMPION.
This guy gave Stevenson the business he's got heart.
Men this size aren’t supposed to move like that. Scary speed. Scary power. Scary.
Greg has improved so much this year
He was injured last season
Greg comes back next year I believe he will dominate. Gable respects him
What a match !!!
these dudes should be ruling Kingdoms, but the worms in power gottem wrasslin in tights..
Good match. Penn St wore out a bit. He be champ next year 4sure. He's really tough
This was the final tough match for gabe. The heavy weight for Arizona doesn’t attack on tough guys
He’s undefeated, on the Greco senior team and an AA from last year. He’s obviously not afraid to attack tough guys…
@@zakklade he got fucked
I wrestled Greg when he was a sophomore in high school at 182. I was a senior and he beat me like 5-1. Probably the strongest kid I ever wrestled.
Kerk had his chances. Good match

Gable’s already beat Cohlton Schultz. They wrestled as cadets and even then Gable teched him
They've been practice buddies since like 9th grade or something.
The last "take down" shows the utter fatigue of Gable's opponent, both men gassing so hard. I know Gable is "the best" but even he has way too much fat around his middle.
Both wrestlers Minnesota prep wrestlers and faced each other in a huge in state rivalry match as high schoolers…fun fact…Stevenson won 3-2…
Steveson

So no one can beat Stevenson?

Nervous I think
He’s fine can’t forget Kerk is a world champ and in any other year would have a shot at the title himself. He will bonus Shultz tm night tho
@@thesupervillain8750 maybe so man but the quarterfinals against the #9 ranked guy looked similar
Arguably one of the hardest brackets he’s wrestled in

Everyone and their mother has a tattoo now. Come up with something original fellas!
he has the skills of .500 middle weight or lightweight
Well in that case you should go beat him at the Olympic trials. Should be easy for you since he sucks……
