Wow, that was a very comprehensive cutting test. I am glad I didn't get that clearance brushed HT. Hyper tough is finally deserves its name for once. I agreed, it's the best overall value here, granted, it doesn't perform like skils, but for the price and its targeted buyers, it's more than enough. That spreadsheet was helpful with performance summary. Side note, did you get that shirt from Walmart? I have the same exact shirt...
I got the brushed HT back when one of the local Walmarts closed for pretty cheap, it's been fine for just the little odd stuff I've used it on. After watching this I'm definitely going to keep it to only little stuff 🤣
Good move. I got mine for $26. It was a bold move to cut through that pine slab. Def should avoid anything like that. Good for crosscutting 2 x 4s and cutting plywood.
I grabbed the brushed hyper tough on sale for 20 bucks. Already had a few tools that I keep in the work truck (no one will steal them lol) and so far it’s done ok. Doesn’t replace my dewalt or anything but it’ll cut apart pallets and cut 2x4 decent so all in all not a fail for 20 bucks lol
Despite the Skill Being Right Hand Blade, How was the ergonomics and ease of Use, Vibration into the hands, quality of supplied Blade and any adjustments needed to get a Square 90 degree cut out of the Box? That also plays a good part in Buying decision.
There’s the batteries with built in phone chargers for hyper tough you should compare them to regular batteries to see if there’s any downside to them. They cost almost the same so if it doesn’t affect performance it’s worth grabbing them just incase
Have you ever looked at the Skil 12V 5.5" circsaw? It's currently $59 as a kit with a 4Ah battery on Amazon. Crazy price considering that battery goes for $40-50 by itself.
The features on the HT are crap but if you have plenty of HT batteries, it’s a very good deal at just over $60 The Skill saw is more inline with a traditional circ saw as it should be; it’s a Skill saw 🥳. If I didn’t mind having yet another battery platform, I would seriously consider the Skill tools but for around the house and simple in the field gigs HT has been a real surprise over the first crappy kit I purchased and surprisingly still get use from today. The little 20v impact guns were so cheap and just perfectly light in weight and all one needs for sinking 20 or 30 screws putting something together around the house. No I don’t take it to a contract gig but the new Brushless HT tools. Absolutely! Less to cry about if it shows up missing and by the time it breaks, may as well buy another and still not cost as much as a DeWalt bare tool. If I relied on these tools solely to pay my bills then it’s a Milwaukee picnic but no. HT Brushless saw leaves some things to be desired feature wise but it sure compels one to make those cuts on a whim as opposed to putting it off because I don’t feel like digging out the real corded saw.
Been using it along with the new brushless hammer drill for about 3 weeks give or take at work somewhat hard constant use at work with the 4ah battery and newer 2ah batteries. Gotta say very happy with the performance and impressed honestly stepping up quality and power it seems and they all really seem to preform better then my co workers ryobi tools and have been getting me throughout the day easily, I guess we will see how they hold up. Of course the blade the circ came with was garb but that’s to be expected.
I’ve used the old brushed 20v grinder quite a bit and you really need 4ah batteries. Great tool for the money but now Brushless?? Move over Harbor Freight 🥳 I imagine the Hercules batteries are better as are the tools over Bauer and HT but again dollar for dollar, I am kind of excited to see how the new line of HT tools compare and certainly welcome a Brushless grinder for under $100. I have an older Earthquake Brushless that kicks ass until you release the trigger and your choice of tooling comes flying off from the braking feature even if tightened with a wrench it will eventually jerk itself apart. Boo HT high torque impact?? What??? If this was out last year, I would have skipped the Earthquake being phased out at China Harbor. WoW Wally World!
That Hart seems rough. Not sure i would puck it up on clearance. Hyper Tough seems like a good value! I wonder how it compares to my Dewalt DCS393. Its the brushed 6 1/2 that comes in their tool kits. Been looking at the Brushless Hart 5 1/2 and 7 1/4. Been seeing some deals on them. Wonder if they will do ok. Wonder if i need a 5 1/2 at all! 😂
I want to check that Hart 5 1/2 inch saw so bad. The 7 1/4 inch saw is on clearance here for $77, but I’d rather test the little one. I thought about doing a video where I test brushless low end brands versus brushed high end brands. What do you think?
@zacksintheshop I like that video idea! I'm a hobbyist who occasionally will swing a hammer for some 1099 cash. All things considered I'm not especially skilled. Back when I was helping a company with some house flipping I bought a big ol bag of DeWalt tools on one of their specials, because I had drank some of that yellow DeWalt Kool-Aid. Turns ought, while that wasn't a terrible buy, the only truly premium product in that set was oscillating multi tool. Everything else was pretty much consumer grade, old brushed tech. I probably should have saved a hundred or so and bought a Ryobi set. Now that I'm trying to get into wood working and mostly just use tools around the house, I've been enjoying picking up Hart stuff. Why buy 15 year old design of a brushed tool from a "good brand" when you can get a brushless tool and a bigger battery for the same price from a "budget brand"?
That Hart must be a 2nd gen? I have a brushless 6.5 Hart, and the depth adjustment is different. I bought mine right after a brushless was released about 2 years ago, so I assume it is a 1st gen. It was like 2x the price, then!
Yes, I agree. The skill is the beast of this group. Even though the hyper tough lagged behind and some of the categories, I know it’s got a good place in a lot of households. That thing is so light, it’s nice.
Excellent video. Thanks for this and the humor!
Glad you enjoyed it! More to come.
Why don't you have more subs. This is a great channel.
You got me... I hit sub
Great job. Love your sense of humor 👍🏼
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the movie.
goodness i love the "stop it" voice. you need to bring that back every so often.
p.s. the skil saw is pretty impressive.

Many of my shirts are from Wally World. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Thanks, I'll add those in the future.
Thanks for the info here!
Thanks for watching
Awesome !! Should have more views! How about throwing dewalt in the mix
Thanks. I hope to add DeWalt models in the future.

hell yeah! 😂 a phone charging compilation
@ no, compare them to the normal batteries to see if there’s any significant difference

I have it and love it. Great little saw. Great bargain as well.
@ Thanks! I’ll pick one up.
$48.66 at Walmart now :)
Hyper touch 🎉🎉🎉🎉 prices not bad.

Test out the new hyper tough brushless impact driver.❤
You got it.
It works awesome, that thing is a workhorse.
@altonbarbee8864 glad you like it

When I do the grinders next, I’ll be comparing the hyper tough to both heart and Ryobi
@ sweet, excited to watch and look forward to see the results!

On that HT brushed, its so slow, you can hears individual teeth cutting
Overall looking at the platforms and prices it would be skil for me, but for an apartment dwelling novice the hypertough is legit.
Yes, I agree. The skill is the beast of this group. Even though the hyper tough lagged behind and some of the categories, I know it’s got a good place in a lot of households. That thing is so light, it’s nice.
10000% i need a saw for a single project and do not intend to upgrade anything
The hyper tough sounds like a good fit for that project. As long as you’re not ripping two bys all day.
Dang that beard is scraggly
@@Mrs.SusieDunn thank you
So my hyper tough saw really is trash 😅
If it’s brushed then
Yes
