Now this ship has the skills i wanted on the Italian Destroyer Line. Exhaust Smoke is just useless (Its a fuel smoke that lasts 6 seconds, and the smoke it generates lasts for 2 seconds). The Emergency Engine Accelerator makes sense as on PC version, the Italian DDs have powerful engine accelerators with short duration. Exhaust Smoke does not. I was hoping for a destroyer with long lasting Fuel Smoke, the last destroyers that have it were the British Destroyers, and they got nerfed twice. (Fuel Smoke II used to be 15 seconds, got nerfed down many updates later to 9 seconds under Fuel Smoke I.)
I'd prefer the longer lasting fuel smoke as well, but I'm ok with the short duration / short cooldown one. It's good enough to cover a turn, or block a torp lock, for long enough to give a small advantage, and you can use it to get cruisers to waste their radars at times. Matches the overall frantic style of Italian DDs for me.
My first couple games in this I did pretty well, but I'm wondering if it was due more to people not yet knowing how to deal with it. The last few games have been very average. I like the play style the ship is encouraging you to play, but its not been given the tools it needs to succeed in given style. Either way, I didn't have the Giulio Cesare, so the pass was worth it in spite of this ship.
I normally dominates seas in tier 5 to 7 with my Fushun (namnamnam), gundowning dds, torpedoing others... but this little italiench things is a bit frustrating to face in the fushun. Am outgunned, can't conter the smoke, can't push her away with torps
General issue you have with PAs against strong DDs. You can pull moves like kiting away, dropping torps - yes, they can't hit, but they might distract them for a second or two, or lead them into friendly CL range
You would think that the larger caliber SAP shells on the FR 25 would do more damage than the 120 mm on the Luca Tarigo. But no, the 120s do more damage. How does that make sense?
I suspect things have been copied from the French to the Italian line, and an "S" added to the AP 😉 But yes, it should be higher, and that would be one way to balance this ship. Don't know if it'll happen in a later patch, sometimes underwhelming premiums get sorted, sometimes not so much
My win rate has been staying steady at 50% on this dd. I wouldnt say it’s terrible but in a tier 8 battle, it’s not likely to come out on top. I played les terrible the other day a was able to drain the fr25 in like 30 sec and they couldn’t even do anything about it.
The guns are very disappointing. It takes 2 nations with great DD guns and gives you the worst of both. French strong, but no RR and Italian SAP but with standard damage of the T6 French DD so it does less then the smaller T7 Italian DD. Really dropped the ball here. It should have been around 6-650 damage per shell for SAP.
Yeah, the French DDs aren't known to be great torpedo boats, and this isn't really a great gunboat, either. Would have been ok at T6, but 7 is stretching it.
This ship feels almost Perfect, but I am not a big fan of the playstyle, so I’m going to skip it. At least for now Edit: while i personally think this is not as bad as many others, I still don’t think I should get it.
@@dustinbaxter4521 honestly, if they did one of the suggestions that terry gave, it would have at least been worth buying Plus i already have the Gulio Cesare.
I like the idea of adding new ships into the game that were captured by other countries
It’s better than the black ships.
It would be cool if it were real though. FR25 was a real ship, it was an Italian build ship though. FR24 was a Italian captured French ship.

Yeah, that pretty much matches my idea as well. You might stick with it for a while, in case they buff it, but I have no idea if or when.

maybe give her SAP an actual damage increase over AP, I'm not sure why 139mm SAP and AP share the exact same damage numbers.
