This is one of my favourite Bollywood songs! I have been getting many emails lately from people asking me to sing a song in Hindi. Since I love this song I decided to give it a try :)

and it's not that i think she's a bad person, she seems lovely and she's a wonderful vocalist..but what you suggested has happened way too much, all over the globe and Disney has a history of racism & making money on the backs of those who tptb at Disney have, traditionally, hated & treated very badly..the corporation has taken a LOT from those who they've hated...and it's not only about their HISTORY of racism but also some serious fairly *modern day* foibles.
so PLEASE think about that..and study up on the matter..also, what Disney is doing, in general TODAY, re: where so many of their products come from and who suffers for that.
plus, *also* about the colonialism perpetrated upon India by the west/UK/England and it's *ongoing,* terrible legacy..and i believe you didn't mean to be insensitive and i think it's great she's trying to bridge East & West through her music and songs..but that's a very different thing than what you suggested and -at the end of the day - what it means, that's what i'm saying.

TheIseethings Lets see you sing in another language buddy. Try chinese or Japaneese, hell I'm sure you'd even suck at singing this in your native tounge. Don't judge others before looking at yourself first. I for one really respect what she does. She has a beautiful voice and she seamlessly brings together two vastly different cultures through her music -- it certainly doesn't sound mediocre to me...
