    I knew without a doubt that Madsen would start game 1 . Nelson by game 3 or 4 will be starting .

    We'll see how the Mads does against Georgia Southern week 1 but if he does shitty...i say put Malachi in to take on the ducks and see how he does against that elite program, I mean there's a reason why Malachi is there. He has a higher ceiling and is overall more talented, Boise State could legitimately go 11-1 with their only loss potentially coming from the ducks. If the Boise State broncos want to make a splash towards the college football playoffs... Depending on play of course, Malachi takeover eventually, now I'm not saying he's going to change the landscape of Boise State football like Kellen Moore did, but I guess we'll just have to see how weak one hands out for #4.

      If Madsen starts we have zero chance against Oregon

      @@lucasmcculley4928 overall I agree with that Outlook, that's why I said the ducks are probably the most dangerous opponent the broncos have, I'm not going to put anything past Washington State they could be tough to beat just like the beavers or honestly anybody on the schedule , it is football.... anybody can be anybody on any given day Boise is undefeated against the Oregon ducks and they have proven for years and years and years that they can beat Big Time schools so hopefully they can continue to be those giant killers and beat the ducks. But I would really like to see what Malachi is like in a loud atmosphere and a big time game like the one against the ducks, hopefully we have a good coach and he will make the right decision, judging by this interview he takes no shit and is extremely transparent which is an excellent quality in a head coach.

      This is true but if Madsen starts it may make Nelson work his butt off to try and steal the job which will make the QB position really strong.

    While it's true that iron sharpens iron, it is also true that big bones smash little bones. Madsen didn't make it through his first official start last year. The only plus is that the coaches had to stop playing silly games with the quarterbacks.
    People say that Madsen has been proving everybody wrong about his size. I think last year kinda proved everybody right.
    Madsen is a very good quarterback. His best use is as an emergency qb and player-coach.

      @@robertcoggins8545why would they put Madsen in to play game 1 and then throw out Nelson cold against a top 3 Oregon team at Autzen? If they see Malachi as the QB this season then he needs that week 1 game to work out some kinks.

      I've been watching Taylon Green's progress at Arkansas. Though his backup is very good, Green was named the starter almost immediately.
      Having that out of the way, he and coach Petrino have corrected his throwing mechanics and footwork. No time and emotional energy has been wasted on a competition between an elite athlete and a mediocre player. He is confident and relaxed and on his way to developing his full potential. Elite talent requires a different approach. I'm glad that Coach Petrino understands that, and I wish coach Danielson did too.

    I think we can win the natty with either qb. let's not forget this is a TEAM effort. It's not all about the qb. Other players contribute.

      “Win a Natty”? Cmon guy, that’s why so many people laugh at our fan base. They could of course upset a team like Oregon, but making the CFP then beating 4 elite programs with more depth on the back end of a season is so unlikely that evening mentioning the prospect out loud is silly. I merely hope for Boise state to be relevant by winning the Mt west and crashing the CFP. That in itself would be a great feat for the program in these days of NIL.

    Koetter made his bias mind up before fall camp started. Malachi didn't get his reps with the 1s like they said he would. It was never a competition

    • @robbierobinson3528
      @robbierobinson3528 2 місяці тому

      Koetter has no reason to be biased. If Nelson transfers after the season, oh well, Koetter is only here for this year anyway. He's going to choose the right now best guy. Also, Nelson has gotten reps with both blue and orange, same with Madsen. There must be something that the coaches see in Madsen that as camp has continued has earned him more blue reps. Trust the coaches and those seeing inside the program on a level we aren't.

    • @hunterchapman4325
      @hunterchapman4325 2 місяці тому +1

      Buddy, Nelson got reps with the first team all spring and played in the spring game (something Madsen didn’t get the chance to do). Madsen was hurt, came back from injury, and won the job. Malachi got his fair shake.
