Can someone please explain to me how this close to open lever method works. I don't get if he starts with closed (it cuts shorter) why would he go afterwards with open (cuts less close to the skin). If for example closed lever cuts at 0.5 mm and open lever at 1 mm, if it's already cut at 0.5 hoe would cutting at 1 change anything?

Think about it like this. I hope this helps. A fade is literally using your sharpest tool. A shaver -> trimmer -> closed lever w clipper , lever middle , lever open , .5 closed -> etc … if I set an open lever guideline the way to erase it is to go down a level. To the next sharpest level to erase the line. So you can attack a fade so many different ways. You just have to understand that concept

So i don't have a clipper with the lever but i have one with wheel increments of 1 mm. So in my case should i do 1st baseline with 1mm and the 2nd baseline with 4 mm, and then blending that area with 2 and 3 mm, and repeating the same process with the 3rd baseline(from 4 mm to 7mm)?
