  • Reverse Chevron Rod Wrap Tutorial - Rod Wrapping Tutorial
    In this video I show how to do a reverse chevron rod wrap. I will teach you how to do a chevron Rod Wrap. This is a great wrap and can be the base for other wraps or added to other wraps. How to do a reverse chevron wrap is explained in detail in this video. We will be doing more custom wraps in the up coming weeks as we build more custom rods. Custom rod building is something that I love to do and as I grow in it I will keep sharing what I learned to help others. I keep trying new ways to do rod wrapping designs and rod wrapping patterns. As I learn rod wrapping techniques, I will share them with everyone. Thanks for watching Fishing Louisiana.

    Again I like your No Nonsense videos because you get right to the point without a lot of chit chat. I like the idea of using the painters tape and then reversing it to get the sticky side out to hold your threads that certainly is much easier than what I've been doing for the past 3 days. Again could you please show me how or tell me where to find a video on how you tie this Chevron wrap off when finished.

      @@FishingLouisiana2020 I would also love to see how this gets finished. Do you do this wrap before or after the grip is added?

    • @FishingLouisiana2020
      @FishingLouisiana2020  Рік тому +1

      I normally do this after the grip, but before the first guide. I like to do this wrap from grip to first guide. Then as I close this wrap, I install the guide.

    Very good looking wrap. I think the blue orange and black combo really stands out. With all the guides done in a blue orange black wrap would look really nice.

    Question have you ever epoxied over the first set of chevrons. Then after it was completely dry then rap a second set of reverse chevrons over the 1st one.

    Does the blank diameter matter when setting this wrap up and marking where the first threads will cross? Or is this more about finding a distance that is pleasing to the eye?

    • @FishingLouisiana2020
      @FishingLouisiana2020  2 роки тому +2

      That is a very good question. They say to wrap tape around the bas of the rod and use that as a baseline. It made it to close in my opinion. it would have been close to 3cm, but I went with 4 cm. I like to stretch out the chevrons. I do use base method for the diamond wrap though. Hope this helps, thanks for watching.

    If you wanted to make the wrap look like it us not offset, would you also start another set 180 degrees out from your first wrap?

      @@FishingLouisiana2020 basically trying to intertwine the design so it does not have a diamond shaped gap in the design. In this case, the large blue section.

    • @FishingLouisiana2020

      that is easy to do. just make your chevron have more layers before switching to the reverse chevron.

      @@FishingLouisiana2020 so would you do the directions in pairs? Up with all of them then down with all of them so you are not alternating? Up and down on one then up and down on the other. I have did the reverse chevron and chevron before and mine came out like yours. Trying to fill in the gap/offset. Nobody has taught me, I learned from watching videos online. So it was defiantly an experiment the first time. A 32 hour long experiment.

    • @FishingLouisiana2020
      @FishingLouisiana2020  2 роки тому +2

      If I was trying to close the blank in completely, I would do the chevron wrap longer, then when I switched to the reverse chevron it would close it all in. you could leave a mark on the blank to help you with the halfway point too.
