Skip Frankfurt and Köln. Make sure to visit Passau, Regensburg, Würzburg, Heidelberg, the Pfälzer Wald, the Wartburg, Erfurt, Weimar, Leipzig, Görlitz, the Spreewald, Potsdam, the Harz Mountains, Lübeck, Schwerin, Stralsund and Rügen
I believe Koln is a beautiful city - just visited there earlier this month. I have heard negative things re personal safety in Frankfurt so I am hesitant myself. But I do agree with your other cities to visit - been to Passau, Wurzburg, Heidelberg, the Wartburg (in Eisenach, J.S. Bach's birthplace and the Wartburg a setting in Wagner's opera Tannhauser) . Also visited Erfurt, Weimar, Leipzig, Dresden Potsdam, Arnstadt, Mulhausen (all pre-1989) and Lubeck as well as Bremen, Hamburg, Berlin (also pre-1989), Munich,, Mannheim, Rothenburg and perhaps others that escape my memory for the moment.
"Thanks for the suggestion! Those places sound amazing for a more authentic German experience. I'll definitely consider them for future content,I found "Koln" really awesome city.
Good video and narration (for once most of the place names are correctly pronounced). But she should have mentioned a few pertinent facts - 1) Neuschwanstein Castle was the inspiration for the Cinderella castle in Disneyland. 2) have not been to Nuremberg but want to soon - how can there have been no mention of the Palace of Justice where the Nazi war crimes trials took place, and 3) the most famous of the beer halls in Munich, the Hofbrauhaus.
