- I FORGOT TO PUT THE ABOMINATION IN THIS VIDEO I'M SORRY
Put any questions you may have in the comments!
0:00 - Don't start with Crimson Court and Color of Madness
1:08 - Which buildings to upgrade
Prioritize stagecoach, guild, and blacksmith. Try to get experienced recruits asap.
Abbey and Tavern are just for stress healing, low priority for upgrades
Sanitarium, upgrade as needed
11:27 - What camping is and what it looks like
Next is ALL HEROES AND ALL COMBAT AND CAMPFIRE SKILLS that I recommend using
16:36 - Highwayman

25:12 - Vestal
26:58 - Plague Doctor
30:30 - Bounty Hunter
34:16 - Houndmaster
37:34 - Arbalest
40:08 - Grave Robber
44:15 - Antiquarian
47:30 - Hellion
53:30 - Jester
57:38 - Leper
1:01:34 - Man at Arms
1:05:44 - Occultist

Are you a teacher in real life? You explain things so easily and speaks very well like an english teacher
I used to be a tutor! hahaha I'm so glad you liked it!
Ty for this guide! This game throws a lot of information in your face and it can be very daunting but you were so informative and straight to the point with the tips. Much appreciated!
Thank you. These two guides took me from a failed file to 8 successful quests in a row. Please make more of these!!!!
I'm semi-new to the game, but not a beginner anymore (Steam says 72 hours). Still, I picked up a couple things from these two videos; I really want to try out the dancing highwayman now. There were also things I disagreed with, but just as user preference. I have some additional comments I'd like to add too.
Retreating and abandoning quests: The game mentions this briefly, but it really is ok to retreat from a tough battle and/or abandon a quest. The catch with retreating is you can't recover trinkets from any character that has died. And, if you have a character removed from your party (a thing that only a couple bosses can do), they will die when you retreat. When (not if) you abandon a quest, you still get to keep everything in your inventory, you just don't get the quest completion reward.
Color of Madness: It's fine to start with this DLC enabled, just stay away from the farmstead "dungeon" until you are already comfortable with the normal dungeons and feel you have strong heroes. The quests there are stronger than the normal quests of the same difficulty level (although not by a crazy amount).
Musketeer: You forgot to talk about her too, but she's exactly the same as the arbalest. Everything has different names and artwork, but the same effects. She can't use arbalest trinkets though (and the arbalest can't use musketeer trinkets).
Antiquarian: In addition to the antiques she finds, she increases the amount of gold you can carry. Normally an inventory space can hold up to 1,750 gold, but with her it can go up to 2,500. Additional antiquarians each add another 750 capacity, but it is already hard enough to finish a dungeon with just one in the party.
Stealthed enemies: AOE attacks hit stealthed enemies. For example: the occultist's abyssal artillery hits position 3 and 4. If position 4 has a stealthed enemy, using abyssal artillery on position 3 will hit both. The catch is if both position 3 and 4 are stealthed, you can't use the skill.
Took multiple attempts at playing Darkest Dungeon before reaching out and finding a tutorial. Definitely listen to her about not having Crimson Court and Color of Madness. Thank you for this tutorial!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great DD videos! I'm a brand new player and I was already feeling overwhelmed by all the menus and things to know when I started out. These videos have made me a better player overnight and have reduced my stress by 50% :). Thank you!
Same
CRAP I FORGOT TO PUT THE ABOMINATION IN THIS VIDEO I'M SORRY! All of his skills are good, but he stresses your own team out so you shouldn't use him if you're having problems with managing your stress levels
Many thanks!!!
But I already started a run with all the dlcs 😂😂😂 I'm spending so much money on destressing my people
Well I can make another run
@@enniopelliccia3844 oop. yea if you're new at the game DO NOT play with the DLCs!!! I recommend making a new file LUL
@@SurixPlays I've bought this game on ps4 as it was discounted
Controls are awful ahaha I bet on pc is funnier
I needed a guide and fell in love with your voice 👍 hope you'll make more videos about this game
I wanted to take a this time to say thank you for all your help.
Are you gonna make another video?
For example about DLC chars or I don’t know what else the game has to offer.
But after watching your two videos I think I’m ready to finally head out.
Thank you! :D
So much knowledge, I'm literally taking notes.
Incredibly late comment, but did we ever see that boss video?
This is one of the best intro series I've seen for Darkest Dungeon, would love to see that next step
Just discovered your channel and I'm already in love with you. Not a noob but there are some new things I learned in this video. Keep up the good work.
2 great tutorials! It was fun to watch! Really enjoyed the tips you gave us . You made this game much more enjoyable for me. Thank you!
Really good video, it came out at the right time when I'm trying to get the courage to come back to this game.
thank you so much for these videos!
this video stress healed me for 30 :O
Man this was so helpful when I watched it months ago. This made me get back to the game and play for 200hrs. So clear and well organised. I thank you in an unquantifiably large amount.
Really enjoying these tutorials, they really clicked for me (was that a pun ? 😬).
Definitely appreciate the depth and pace of your guides, many thanks !

Just picked up the game.
Very helpful guide. Thank you
hi, I always wanted to play DD and it was on sale during haloween so I got it. There are many guides/tips and so on but I enjoy yours the most. I will admit it is bit too much details for my taste but still gonna see through it all ;)
Still useful thx a lot Suri!!!
This helped a lot. Thank you.
Are you going to still do that boss guide? Anyway thanks, this helped me so much
I really understand this game now great fun explanation thanks
Very good series of guides, installed DD a few times over the years played for an hour and gave up, I'm addicted now lol.
yaaay i'm glad you're enjoying the game now!
First of all thanks for this guides really helped out alot and a reason I subbed.
Secondly what do the bar and the number on the dungeons represent? Even if i abandon a quest to save the loot the bar still goes up.
Can't wait for the next parts to come out!
Thanks again
Great Vid ty!
Loved the video, but is part 3 coming up?
thanks cool guide
Thank you Surix
I'm trying sooo hard to play this game. This is my 2nd time watching your walkthroughs lol
Edit: it's been a few days since I posted and I know how to play now!! It's still kind of confusing but I "get it" now. I have my 4 original players at level 5. I still haven't gone into a long medium dungeon but yay I know how to play! Thank you so much!!
AWESOME!! I'm so glad this helped! Good luck dungeoning! :)
@@SurixPlays Thank you!
Your videos are so fun. I hope to see more of you 😁
Hm,
So Highwayman. Opening with Point Blank is Fine, but usually it's simply better to but him in the back Ranks and Opening with Duelists. Opening with Duelists and Starting him in Rank 3/4 allows him to be a Lot more flexible with who He Attacks. Usually the Priority Targets are in the back, so his other Skills are better than Point Blank. The problem with Point Blank is that you usually shoot enemies who have like 50% Prot, so Point Blank does a Lot less dmg.
Crusader is insanely good. He's very flexible, can Stun, does a Lot of dmg and can Heal from anywhere using Inspiring Cry. He also has very High Base dmg and Health, which allows him to do pretty much anything. I recommend always Running Smite, Stunning, Holy Lance and Inspiring Cry. Holy Lance is there so he can move back into position. Bringing his other Moves works, but Zealous and Bulwark just suck and Battle Heal is usually worse than Inspiring Cry, unless you Plan on using him as a Healer. His low SPD also makes him the number one Candidate for Dance Teams using Holy Lance since he's guaranteed to go last.
Plaguedoctor Sure can use all her Moves, but on every Build that isn't Frontline Plaguedocor you Run Blinding Gas. Always Run Blinding Gas since it's basically -40 Stress if you Stun two Stressdealers.
Arbalest Mark sucks. Never bring it. It can't Hit Rank 1, can only be used from the back and is increadibly unflexible. Sniper Shot and Bandage are two Moves you always bring. The other two Moves are usually Suppressing Fire and Rallying Flare. The Mark sucks, Blindfire has Leper lvls of ACC and Bola has a very low move Chance. Suppressing Fire just makes The two people in the Enemy Backline unable to Crit and The ACC Drop destroys some enemies like Gunner Bandit.
Graverobber isn't usually brought for her Mark Synergy. You pretty much bring her for Lunge. The usual loadout is Lunge, Fade, Pick and Darts. Pick is there bc you sometimes don't want to Fade and if she's the last Survivor of a Party wipe she can't Attack unless she has Pick. Darts can be Thrown Dagger, but Darts is usually the better Option. To her playstyle, Shadow Fade on Turn 1 is good, but Not the most optimal option for Hallway Fights. Building a Team around Double Lunge is usually better and even Opening with just Lunge on a Stressdealer in Rank 3 helps Ending the fight quickly. Using Shadow Fade in Hallway Fights usually means you Overkill someone you could've just killed with Lunge's Base dmg. For Bossfights tho Shadow Fade Lunge is a Lot better.
Anti isn't just there for Money. She has two other really good Aspects. First, Protect me. Stick Protect me on Highwayman and he's getting attacked a Lot more, giving you a Lot of Value from his Riposte. Secondly, Trinket swapping. Since Anti doesn't need Trinkets to function well you can give her general Trinkets like Recovery Charm to Swap around to another Hero. She basically gives your Heroes a extra Trinket Slot. That Technique is kinda advanced tho so I didn't expect many people to know that. Also Trinket Scrounge is insane. With the lowest Roll possible you just got 750 Gold for 2 Points. On a Highroll, you just got a very Rare Trinket. Press Scrounge every Camp you take Anti to.
Occultist. If you let him Heal People on Death Door, you are mad. If you Plan to use him as a Main Healer, you gotta bring someone else for Healing people off deaths Door. You also Start Healing people as soon as they Drop Below 50% HP, so him lowrolling doesn't have as big a impact. Frontline Occ > Backline Occ. You get a 180% Base Stun with a 40% Chance to Crit. That's Madness. You can usually Stun enemies at least twice. He can also do all of his Stuff from the Front. Don't sleep on Hands from the Abyss, aka the best Single Target Stun in the Game.
Never sleep on Intimidate on Leper. -30% dmg destroys some enemies completely. Withstand + Intimidate Spam just negates the Crawlers in the Weald and any Hard hitting Boss like Prophet. Weakening Curse + Intimidate can loclock down any Boss that relies on the Boss Dealing a Lot of dmg.
Flagellants Rain of Sorrows is pretty good. It's basically Plague Grenade, while Punish is very similar to Noxious Blast. You also never Fall under 40% in Hallway Fights more than Once, so bringing both Redeem and Exsang is a Bit Overkill.
Abom just doesn't exist I guess.
I was looking for a vid just like this and I couldn't find it, then I started my run and now I'm debating if I should restart, I actually have all the DLCs in the game, RIP.
I’m starting back into the game and this part 2 is an huge info dump. So, I think I’ll refer to this guide at a later date.
nice Video, like your Voice very much, very cute in a strange way
Occultist stun the best.
Is there a part 3?
This game is hard as fuck but it's amazing
Why do I get the feeling you love kareoke
