I8K for a lease? That’s exactly what I paid for my used 2010 Tundra that I am still driving. Appreciate your honesty about your dealer experience. Wait it out for them to work out all the recall stuff. Good luck!
I applude your transparency with this and feel bad for the people who bought one with the normal Toyota perceived expectations and have been let down. Toyota needs to come out with a loyalty incentive. Just tryingto help out. 😀. The dealers need to sell the 24's before they are recalled or else they have to sit on them until fixed.
That black 1794 Tundra looks great, Mark. Hopefully, your channel will get bigger so you can move in to something you really want. I've only had 2 trucks in the last 23 years. A 2001 Tundra Limited 4WD and 2016 Tundra Pro. I regret selling the 2001 and will not make the same mistake with the 2016. Reliability is priority #1 for me. I've never had a single problem with the 2016. My plan is to keep it forever.
Just purchased 24 platinum non hybrid....2nd day of ownership drove 500 miles to Canada got back yesterday 1100 miles most comfortable ride ever performed perfectly and quite 19.7 mpg love it
2:20. Bro, I am the common man but I do have some money and I refused to pay those prices. I bought a GMC Denali dually 3500 6 years ago for $52,500'ish and even with Bidenflation calculated it is less than the cost of a 1/2 ton today. I use that truck for work so it was required and has long paid itself off at this time. I cannot afford a new truck today. We are all feeling the pain and hopefully the pain will begin to end come November 2024.
I had an identically spec’d Tundra, 2022 TRDORP, and sold it last year at Scott Clark Toyota in NC for $53K. This was just last May (2023). Pretty wild how different things are in just a little over a year.
Wow. Just watched a video from Ben Hardy. He was reviewing a used '22 Capstone with 17K miles on it. New that truck was ~$79K. It's on the lot for $59K. The resale value is RIP for tundra folks.
Traded my 22 tundra platinum in almost two months ago for a 24 tundra platinum! I had celestial silver on my 22, and now we have a lunar rock. Love our tundra!
We decided that Platinum was the best version of the tundra for the value of its options, and plus with the discounts Toyota is applying right now on them. We compared several other manufacturers and despite the recall on the tundras we enjoyed what our 22 tundra had to offer for the two years of ownership. So getting a 24 made the most sense for us.
I decided that the new Tundra are a little too rich for my blood. I'm keeping my 2021 TRD PRO Lunar Rock. I was hoping to get a 2024 TRD PRO but the price and the payment was just too much for me to make the move. So, brother take your time or grab a 2021 you always have some amazing videos and good information.
Same here I’ll keep my 2021. I did end up doing a lot of upgrades on it. One is putting the transmission cooler in it which I watched this guy on UA-cam do is and when I ordered the transmission cooler, they had a newer, one a newer upgrade I plan to keep it for a long time
You have the best tundra year and a pro. If you trade it you will regret it. I did that but on my Tacoma, traded my 23 for a 24. I ended up not liking the 24 with the issues it has. I traded it back in 2 months in and picked up another 23 off-road.
I'm beginning to get the feeling that Toyota dealerships only provide Stella service when they can get something out of it... once the deal is locked or there is none to be had... 🗑🚮
Consider trading what you have in on the very best 5.7L 2nd generation Tundra that you can find, and experience the joy of long term ownership by keeping it for a minimum of 6 years. You can still walk the lots and tell us all about the new models, but you don't have to keep buying them. I have owned my 2002 for 21 years, it was paid off years ago and I am still loving it. I have owned my 2007 RCSB for 7 years, it's also paid off and about to hit the road again with a fresh 5.7L. Here is the kicker, the grand total I have wrapped up in these two beautiful rust free V8 Tundra trucks is thousands less than what you owe on the truck you are currently driving.
@@davemcguire6997 I say whatever floats your boat. Since you pay cash like I do, I say great. I'd rather spend the money on other things these days, but I certainly had a long stretch where I had plenty of new cars! Enjoy!
Even though it isn't close enough yet, not many brans would be that close I bet. Be interesting to see other brands similarly equipped and where they are at purchase a year and a half ago to now?
So you paid about $60k with TTL and the value dropped by almost $20k….why would you buy another Tundra if there value sucks 18 months later! NOT TODAY!
As an investor if you want to get a very good value from any vehicle you purchase you should keep it at a minimum of 12 years. I personally keep mine 15 before i update to a new one. Take part of the gains you got in interest over the 15 years to use to purchase the new one minus the trade which in turn will give you free upgrades.
1) Dealerships are in business to SELL followed by buying. 2) Age old problem the more spend or discount the more everything depreciates. 3) Toyota let this happen: All their new truck have poor resale value, when you go cheap that’s the consequences. 😢
Toyota is increasing the price for the 2025 Tundras with the 1794 coming in $1,900 higher plus an increase of about $100 in DPH. That’s a total YOY increase of $2,000. As your vehicle gets older and continues depreciating, the trade differential will get larger--not smaller. It is unrealistic to want a dealer to discount their new truck by thousands AND give you more than market value for your trade. It appears you’ve had the truck for 15 months, and have paid the principal down by $5k. And 15 months from now your payoff will be about $41k while your truck will depreciate more. You will likely be upside down in your truck until your lease ends in 2026. At that time, you will have to come up with thousands of dollars to either buy the truck or purchase/lease a new one. The only way to solve this is to come up with a larger down payment or keep the truck until you have a lot of positive equity.
Sitting tight is a great financial decision. $18,000 cash to lease a 2024? NFW! Keep driving that great truck. Seriously, how often are you putting an adult in the back seat?
you could probably get more for the 2020 you traded in for this truck then what you're being offered, this gen of tundra is cursed. I recently got offered $46k for my AG 2020 Pro.
my man.... you didn't put enough money down or didn't have enough equity in the trade to get this Tundra. The upside down market will bury a lot of people. You need more cash for your vehicle purchases or this will continue to happen
Mark, sounds like with the 41,000 offer you are about 4-5,000 off from a pay off. Your truck will not go up in value. Why don’t you sell it yourself and get a few more grand. If you don’t make a move you are still spending money on your car payment for a truck that ultimately want to sell or trade.
Your driving a nice truck - almost new. And they have most of the engine replacement details worked out. If it goes down you can get a new crate motor. I would keep driving it until you save enough to buy the 1794 you want. Not like your having to slum around in a beater.
Just subscribed a couple months and enjoy watching your videos. You mentioned the 2025 tundras. Do you know when they will be coming out? Shopping for a 2024 and trying to decide whether to wait for the 2025. Any idea when?
Love your content. I currently drive a 2021 TRD Pro Lunar Rock Crew Cab. I love the truck but wouldn't mind something with more creature comforts. I haven't engaged any dealers yet because I'm in the midst of buying a house. I will wait it out a bit. What sort of trade in values are you seeing for '20-21 TRD pros?
Not sure how many miles you have but a 21’ TRD Pro is definitely in demand at the moment and I’m sure you’d get a strong trade in value for it. Seems like a lot of dealers are trying to get around $50k+ for 2019-21 TRD Pros so I would bet you could get close to $50k on a trade in depending on the mileage your truck has.
The lack of courtesy is disappointing. As for the value IMO, it seems this Gen has taken hits on value due to issues and the V8’s are holding their value.
I know you aren't close to Oregon, but I just bought a 2024 1794 iforce max about a month ago with a sticker of $73,804 for $62,500 out the door. It's doesn't have the trd offroad package, which I wanted, but for the price I just couldn't pass it up. I'm curious if you'd have done the same.
Curious as to how you made out when you traded the TRD Pro in? Were you in the negative there? I feel that pain as for years i was in negative equity on leases and purchases. It's certainly a brutal cycle. I was fortunate when i bought my '22 TRD Pro and had a good amount of money to put down. Sticker on that was ~$66K traded it in 6 months later for my '23 150 Raptor and got $72K for the TRD Pro! But i think the values are dropping across the board. A few weeks ago I explored downgrading a bit from my Raptor and talked to a couple of dealerships. The most i was able to get for me '23 Raptor was $70K...3 months ago (yes with fewer miles obviously) that number was closer to $80K. I only owe ~$34K but decided to hold off. I did order a new Ranger Raptor though. No deposit, no dealer doc fees, no obligation, and NO MARK UP! All in all let's be real here...your tundra is not a desirable trim to most. Yes its nicely equipped but it is still an SR5 double cab. The dealerships that are offering you 38-40K (which is pretty darn close to the KBB value) are gonna put it on the lot for 45-47K but don't care if it sits as its a low risk trade for them. You're probably better off trying to sell it privately but still i would not expect to see anywhere near your payoff. Thanks for the update and i wish you luck.
Thanks for commenting! When i traded my 20 pro for the 22 pro, i had 6k equity that i used as the down payment for the 22. When i traded for the 23 Sr5, id have to look, but i believe it was like 2k positive equity. I totally agree on your assessment on the SR5. Desirable would be a higher trim for sure.
Hi, I am looking at the same 2024 limited i force(regular) crewmax with trd off road and panoroof in ice cap. What would be a good price as out the door price?
I’m not enjoying in your misery, but like I mentioned in one of your previous videos, the 2020/2021’s V8’s are holding the same if not more value than these new ones. And I agree Tundra was once the best resale full-size truck. I’m not so sure anymore.
@@gregjoubert5118I like the tundra screen but I agree that the Land Cruiser screen is perfectly integrated into the das. Saw my first one today, they look great
I dont know why anyone would want to buy a vehicle with known engine failure. 2022-2024 years is crazy and a failure in itself. Good luck on resale. Just crazy
I'm new to trading, and I've lost a good sum trying out strategies I found in online tutorials. I would sincerely appreciate any recommendations you have.
I am curious , if Toyota does change the motors out if these prices may jump back to what they should be . I have a 22 limited TRD and love it . I will wait this storm out.
That $41k is gonna be the highest you ever see it, yes it’s $5k negative equity but the more miles you put on, the more it’s gonna lose value. Plus your ‘23 is gonna go from being 1 MY old to 2 MY’s old. Food for thought
As a financial advisor, I’m telling you. Don’t!!! These trucks aren’t worth you going underwater. I’ve been following you for years and there’s no need. It’s the same truck!
I appreciate that! But if I can get my dream Tundra for what i offered, im most certainly going to do it. Its a very aggressive offer on my end and i’m not budging.
Dude you are missing the point that your truck is no longer considered reliable and this is why there is no resale value to it. The ends will never meet on this generation of Toyota trucks.
Mark, I'm not surprised by those low trade-in offers. A few factors are likely impacting the value of your Tundra. Cab configuration: The double cab's less-than-useful second row can hurt resale value. New engine complexity: The 3rd gen Tundra's engine is more complex and expensive to repair, which could negatively impact long-term value. Potential maintenance costs: Overall maintenance costs for the 3rd gen Tundra might be higher than previous generations. Given these factors, I'd recommend holding onto the truck for a few more years. By waiting until it's about 5 years old, you'll get good use out of it and potentially benefit from a refreshed model with resolved issues when it's time to upgrade.
My years of trading vehicles in, (Always)in the negative by a few thousand when trading up, dealerships will make their money on both ends regardless of make model you trade , luckily I pay my vehicles off pretty quick so it not a big deal on my end but I’m not gonna lose over 4-5 k or I’ll keep it until the trade numbers come up plain and simple …..
Your problem is the flood of these new Tundra’s and also the ones waiting in the wings. No way you’re going to “catch up” until you pay enough off to gain that equity. This is car buying and trading in 101! The days of super short supplies of inventory driving up prices was a “freak” thing caused by a pandemic. Sounds like you have FOMO over a 14” screen and willing to hawk your finical stability over a few options. Very tough financial times are coming! Actually we’re in the mid of it…. just being lied to. Learn to be content with what you have.
I appreciate your comment. To be completely transparent, i had to lookup what “FOMO” meant. My SR5 has the 14” screen. You’re not wrong at all. I was just trying to take a stab at my dream tundra during some desperate times for dealers but I won’t be making any moves that don’t meet my terms. My terms being exactly what i can do without affecting other aspects of my life. Have faith in me!
Stop trying to chase the next big thing! You had a 2nd Toyota Tundra pro and weren’t happy enough to keep it. A new 1794 2024 will have the same affect. In the end it’s all for nothing, buy one at a great price and pay her off.
I can’t help it, i love Tundras. 🤣 but again, this would only happen if i could score it low, but thats not looking like a possibility, so the SR5 remains
well ...atleast u tryed.... but i hear ya about the dealerships.... atleast say something..and get back to you with info... these people cant be trusted ..jmo

I dont know why anyone would want to buy a vehicle with known engine failure.
2022-2024 years is crazy and a failure in itself.
Good luck on resale. Just crazy
Will the value go up after Toyota replaces all these motors from 22-23 models?
Not sure. I’m not part of the recall
My 05 tundra when sold in 2021 only depreciated by 50% after 16 yrs, value held😂
2021 was a great time to trade! All the used values were inflated because of the happenings in the world.
I'm new to trading, and I've lost a good sum trying out strategies I found in online tutorials. I would sincerely appreciate any recommendations you have.
I suggest Miss Mary Gail Benner is extremely good on that. She is really good at what she does, Now I can pay so many bills because of her help.
Yes, I agree with you. Her platform is wonderful, and her strategies are exceptional
She is mostly interact on tele gram with the user name written below

I am curious , if Toyota does change the motors out if these prices may jump back to what they should be . I have a 22 limited TRD and love it . I will wait this storm out.
Question. Who is your lease through? Ally or Toyota?
Toyota
Just wait for a ‘25, ‘24’s are about to be a MY old here in about 3 months. Meaning value is gonna go down. Wait till you can afford what ya want.
Im not liking the crew cabs, the beds re so short they are useless.
Keep what you have Mark, youwill be better off.
All used vehicles got slammed and depreciated by 15-20%, it’s the corrupt car market😂.year and half ago prices were up drastically,
I bet if you had a 2021 Tundra 5.7L you would get 46K for it but those new ones not reliable that's why they don't hold the value
Maybe you could just do a loaded Limited TRD off-road and save some $$$?
Its one of the 2 i would do, but the numbers are so far off that even that is a no go
"I paid sticker"🤣🤣🤣🤣
🤷🏼♂️ during covid in my area, that was the best you could do. Everything was marked up 15-20k, even SR5s
If you can afford it trade it in on the tundra you want. If you can’t afford then hang on.
Common courtesy went away awhile ago unfortunately
Very unfortunate
hope you get the truck u want bro
Some day!
I try not to go to Stealerships anymore than I can help.
Dude you are missing the point that your truck is no longer considered reliable and this is why there is no resale value to it. The ends will never meet on this generation of Toyota trucks.
And that my friend is why i love to lease. No matter what, my end is no later then April 3rd 2026 😁
Wait for the mid-cycle refresh. A 2024 doesn’t do anything for the channel.
Regardless, mid cycle refresh Tundra is happening
Get that motor replaced and keep it!
It’s all over inflated, no vehicles are an investment and just drive your car
Stop trying to chase the next big thing! You had a 2nd Toyota Tundra pro and weren’t happy enough to keep it. A new 1794 2024 will have the same affect. In the end it’s all for nothing, buy one at a great price and pay her off.
I can’t help it, i love Tundras. 🤣 but again, this would only happen if i could score it low, but thats not looking like a possibility, so the SR5 remains
How bad do you want it? 7-8k out of pocket and a bigger payment and it’s yours 😊
The dealerships know my terms. If they cant hit it, no biggie
These Tundras ARE NOT worth what they are wanting.....just buy one,go under water with it....just put a scuba mask on first.....😂
The dealers know my offer. I’ll wait and see if they bite, if not, i’ll live lol
@@TundraDude34.....best of luck to ya....👍
I’d just wait. 🤷
Yep, that seems to be the plan
well ...atleast u tryed.... but i hear ya about the dealerships.... atleast say something..and get back to you with info... these people cant be trusted ..jmo
First 😎😎
You're making a big mistake you should keep that V6 aspirated 2023 because that 2024 has twin turbos and it's blowing head gaskets and it's got bad Motors
The 23 and 24 have the same engines
2023 DC Tundra... Good luck trading it in.
Nobody wants them.
No more doublecab...lol
The v6 is no good
Just don’t buy one, why? Keep “old” one why why? Content?
The lease soundssss laughable but you litterally jus burnt up 17k in as many months
So wealthy to be able to trade vehicles so often and lose money
I haven’t lost money on trades. And dude, i do youtube for a living, you think im wealthy?
@@TundraDude34 if you can trade up to a new tundra every 4 months you gotta be pretty wealthy
I have never once traded a tundra after 4 months of ownership. Are you confusing me with another Toyota youtube channel?
Total trash!!! Don't buy one!!!!
These new tundras are not holding value because they are trash!! 🗑️
