In case you're wondering, I purchased 2 more off Amazon, and one performed very well. Only a very slight movement at 5 yards. No guarantee all others of this type will be just as good. amzn.to/3rVruOh (Amazon Affiliate Link - I may earn a small commission from qualified sales)
Nice tip on testing the boresight. The problem with things made in china is there really is no QC, so even if one product is perfect, there is no guarantee the next one you buy will be the same. I once bought a very expensive coffee table from wayfair. There was shipping damage to the top, so they sent me a new to. That top also had shipping damage to the drawers, so I thought I would take the top from one and the drawers from the other and have a complete unit. No chance. The drawers from one unit were completely different size from the first unit on mass produced furniture. Amazing that they would mass produce furniture without any kind of jigs, or even proper measurements.
No it makes no difference. What matters is the body of the boresight laser is on a hard firm surface up against something that does not move as you're rotating it.
@@haimt The reason why I removed the end cap and used aluminum foil, was because the end cap rim was slightly rough and I didn't want to chew up my desk. Like you said, all that matters is that the angle is kept exactly the same during the test.
Don't listen to this fellow about firearms advice. Check out some of the long time, reputable firearms channels on UA-cam or articles from the NRA. Sorry. You do need to aim even at self defense distance. A 3" spread of 00 buck at 3 yards still needs to be aimed. Sigh.
You don't know what you're talking about unfortunately. I suggest you think twice about what you're saying before you post moronic comments. I clearly stated in the video that if you are going to be using it for self-defense up close, it does not have to be a highly accurate laser. That is a fact. If you shoot a person 10 to 15 ft away, being off by a half of an inch on your sights will not make any difference because the Buckshot will spread out and make up the difference of the half inch
Nothing wrong with what he stated. Having the aim off by 1/2 of an inch at 10 ft using buckshot isn't going to make any difference. You'll have at least a 3-inch spread, and the target will definitely be hit. The majority of people will not be aiming using the sights of a shotgun If somebody charges into their house. They will simply pick up the shotgun and aim at the center of the person's chest and pull the trigger.
to videodisro... i think you should be example ... Will you stand in front of bore sighted shotgun ...( even at 50 ft, a very long home defense distance), and put your life where your mouth is? nope... I didnt think so..

Always such fantastic reviews! Thanks for another great video!
Great video. In all my years of shooting and bore sighting my firearm did I ever think of that test.
Easy & accurate testing procedure! That laser beam is WAY OFF! Thanks for the heads up! 👍👍
This is not a product I need, but I appreciate you developing a test to verify its accuracy. 👍👍👍

You get what you pay for.
I've seen some higher priced ones that were still off, but not as much
It has a lip at one end. when you are rolling it you have to keep the lip clear
in case the lip isn't round...maybe the tube and laser are still aligned. just curious.
yes, I am with you this test is not done correctly.
