Thanks for the reviews Trev, hope you all had a good new year.
Bin-Bag Jacket, Jacket for visiting African Prince and a Sleeping-Bag with Giblets ! 😁😁🤣 Love it Trev.
Great kit Trev.
Managed to get down to Princetown yesterday for the rally and hike. Like you say it may not do much. 300+ turned up and the bbc. Hopefully people will notice.
Anyway, started my Tor bagging with Kings Tor. 1st of many.
I can see why you all love it so much. Absolutely beautiful scenery. Photos & videos do it no justice.
I was in Mallorca mid October on a cycling trip. Stunning there, but I’d rather be on Dartmoor 😊😊
Ah thats great that you could make it! I had my sons 18th birthday celebrations over the weekend so couldn't make it. Fingers crossed it helps to get the right attention!
Sleeping bag looks great Trev. Excited to see how it performs.
Trevs gone mad with the tinsel on the picture frames, easy lad! 😂
Good to see you back trev!
The colombia jacket looks like a bin bag 😂
Like the colour of the nature hike bag!
Cheers Pete! Yea,not the most alluring jacket on the market, but it works Bloody well as a waterproof option. Forgot to mention that I wore it up on the very wet snowdon night hike too. It did the job!
Olight have since removed the proximity sensor on the Baton. I bought one then had an email a week later saying they needed to do more R&D as people were finding it "oversensitive" and "flickering at very infrequent intervals"
thanx Trev. have a lovely xmas. as always your honesty I always appreciate. If I want to check out gear I am thinking of buying , your channel is top of my list with outdoor gear review to get an honest review. god bless and meery xmas
Thanks very much! All the best and merry Christmas to you!
Irrelevant comment but I'm liking the blue jeans/lumberjack shirt combo you're rocking here
Yes, I love Olight as well, I have had the Baton 2 for ages too and brilliant when I was opening up the school on a winters morning (by myself) at 05.30😳. Best of the bunch for me is the Barton 3 it really looks impressive and I would be over the moon if Santa dropped that off at our house😇. After using (and being very happy with) the Tog 24 Down Jacket for over a year, I have just bought a Rab Down Jacket as well, so if I bought another jacket, there would be a divorce in the offing I think 😖. The snowbird looked a real beast but needed in this real cold spell but I always worry about a snagged zip and not being able to unzip it 😱.Great reviews of some quality products - Happy Christmas To You All, cheers Alan
Hi ya Al. Really great to hear from you. Hopefully santa brings you something nice, sir! Thanks for watching!
Baffels mate 👍
I bought an olight perun mini headtorch during lockdown. Great torch but I find I mainly like dim light when sat around camp. Wish it had a red light option. .. also I wrapped the strap around my wrist when asleep, got up in the night for a pee and lost the torch.. assumed it was in my hammock/bivvy. So spent hours trying to find it in there. Next morning, Turns out it was outside my tent in the grass. The clip popped out of the head mount thing. So I attached a small caribeaner on string to clip it in place. Top tip! They ain't cheap and it was my only time using it.
Yes, I have a head lamp by them and when i went on the Rab weekend I wore it and kept blinding people even when I put it onto dim mode
Sleeping bag giblets!!! 😂😂😂😂 Love it! It's actually a good feature.
Yea, those giblets make a lot of difference. Great to contain weight. Thanks for watching, Rachel!
Cheese Trev, good reviews, wishing you and fam a peaceful Christmas
Thanks Andrew. Happy Christmas to you and yours too
Nice outdoor gear. The Olight equipment looks really good. I'm still on the lookout for the perfect hiking coat. Not sure such a thing exists. Still relying on my Decathlon Forclaz down jacket, but it's not quite cutting it with this cold nip we're having at the moment. Thanks for the vid Trev.
Yea, I must agree with regards to coats. My Rab is awesome for warmth, not sure if it would be so water resistant though. This Columbia jacket is very large and really heavy. Not ideal for what I require if I'm honest.
Decathlon do have warmer down jackets in the trek line and some more options in the climbing section if your interested.
I own a few olights and find them top quality. Do you think the reflective material works or is it just a gimmick ?
I am after a nature hike snowbird -3 but notice it’s only available in a size medium. I see yours is also a medium. I’m 175cm tall (5’9”) and wanted to know if this would fit. Failing this, the next option would be massive jump up to the snowbird -7 large, which for obvious reasons would be overkill.
It's a dog collar light 😂
Damn, you just said that and I was trying to be funny.
🤣🤣
Yer nice one trev, as we all know if you want something lite but waterproof something like the bin bag would do the job, easy to pack away taking up little space, does it matter what it looks like if it keeps you dry 👍, sleeping bag looks a bargain, never used a olight product so i will check out that Christmas sale, cheers trev,
Yea its a great jacket, even if I do take the piss a bit. I will share a post in the community tab 2night for the olight sale, there's a code to get an extra 5% off too. Merry Christmas mate. All the best!
I bought an olight when they first started up in 2008 i think it was and i still have the torches now. So never felt i wanted to change to another manufacturer
. By the way the dog light has a section in the middle where you can place a tile or tracker device which is very useful. Its not a bad light for the dog to carry as back up and just to see where they are in the pitch black.
Anyway worth saying if anyone here is thinking of buying one.
I just hope they dont get too gimmicky in future. I dont need flashing lights, magnetic chargers or a laser 😂😂 etc.
I think Naturehike does some great budget stuff and well recommended for beginner campers. Cant beat rab though 😂😂😉
Ah, thats cool about the tracker device. Think we may have to look into that as woody is a bit of an escapologist lol. Know what you mean about gimmicky though, not sure when I'll use a green lazer out on the moor. Depends how far it's range is I suppose. I may use it to point to some distant feature 🤷♂️
@@SummitOrNothing ha ha and blind some poor camper with it 😂😂
Like the Outdry jacket - looks very light but then I guess binbags don't weigh a lot! 🙂 Don't Goretex make a similar material called Shakedry? Got a Atom Packs Roo (bumbag) on my Xmas list, Hopefully Linda likes me enough this year! Cheers, Roger
Hi ya Roger. Great to hear from you. I must say I do like the columbia jacket, works really well, even if it doesn't necessarily look so attractive. Scores high on practicality though! Cheers for watching! Merry Christmas to you both!
"sleeping bag jackets" 🤣🤣🤣
You know the ones I mean lol
yea they go down to the ankles and look ridiculous. You will be a laughing stock in them next season a true fashion fad for the ladies, keeping many 13 year olds working hard in Vietnam
Karens gone wild, vid had a different name for them "giblets" u mentioned lol look forward to see how it stacks up against the Rab bag ,, Cheers Big T
I can only imagine what Karen may have said lol
