- Los Angeles Fire Department Engine 33 responding into 57’s first-in for difficult respirations on Denver Ave. & Florence Ave.
Units due: Engine 33 & Rescue 257.
Notice Engine 57 on a different medical emergency in their area across the street from the second one.
A special thanks to Fire Station 33-A for having me!

Dude I wish I had my camera out today I had a felony stop that occurred in front of my apartment and then southern California legislate airport fire department engine 319 drove by my apartment code 3 today such a rare catch but I guess what Victorville City now having their own fire department now they are relying multi-aid from the airport
Music in the Bay..!
I wish people would stop for emergency units.
Were two engines sent on this call or was there two incidents on the same street?
two incidents on the same street. thanks for watching
00:37 Engine only. Difficult respirations
Fire City
that constant beep would annoy the shit out of me
At the beginning of the dispatch, did the voice to dispatch say "Engine Only," proceeded by the Rescue Ambulance, followed by re-announcing the Engine?
that's correct. the first part of the automated dispatch audio announces what apparatus from that particular station is going. the rescue was from 57's so 33's audio was "engine only" while 57's audio was "rescue only". "only" isn't implying who's on the ticket but who from that station is assigned to the call. it also applies when one unit is out of quarters and the other is in quarters; for example, if RA33 was on the radio but E33 was in quarters and they both got a run, the dispatch audio would say "engine only" because the rescue isn't there. but as you heard, it would still say "Engine 33, Rescue 33" after stating the call-type. so the overall setup of the automated audio is: units from the station, call type, all units assigned (usually announced closest to farthest), address, cross street, and response channels, ended with "metro clear" and 5 bell dongs.
What do 5 gongs mean in dispatch?
How do u know when tones will go off
William 39 he has the video camera set up in the bay & it just films and catches the tones drop. Then obviously we trim it to the tones part haha.
You need a mechanical siren.
Does LA have ALS engines?
affirmative. Engine 33 was ALS that day.
@@FB1ResponseVideos so on those days that they are als is that because they have a firefighter paramedic onshift assigned to their engine and then other days they don't?
HD firebuff93 both the engine and truck at 33s are ALS unless there are staffing issues
this is how dispatch protocol should be. BLS ambulance with paramedic engine. There is no need to dispatch paramedic engine with paramedic ambulance, or even worse bls ambulance + paramedic squad + paramedic engine (aka la county fire over dispatching that causes dilution of paramedic skills)
I think having an ALS ambo respond with an ALS Engine has advantages. If the pt is stable, the medic on the ambo can continue pt care en route to the hospital while the engine crew can go back into service, instead of riding in with the pt. It really just depends on the type of call
I believe a BLS ambulance in LAFD carries the designation rescue 8**
Ideal setup is ALS Ambo with BLS Engine imo.
You clearly have no idea what you are talking about...
@@emt5330 correct and some are 2** or 9**
