Mushy peas are made from whole marrowfat peas. They are cooked in bicarbonate for 10 minutes. They are then drained and fresh water added with seasoning, then cooked to a pulp No chips in the UK are made from mash potato. They are all made from fresh cut potato. I like your fish supper challenges. Your passion for our fish is immeasurable 😁 Pop some vinegar on the peas. It tastes great.

From Melbourne Australia I love love British fish and chips with mushy peas. I also love a meat pie with mushy peas. There is no way you would get a piece of fish that big in Melbourne.

Some people really like to mix a bit of vinegar in with the mushy peas. If you go to Scotland try Anstruther Fish Bar. That’s my favourite out of the whole country.

My best friend years ago would make fried fish with ketchup and mayonnaise mix as the sauce it works I'm a malt vinegar person or colmanns mustard especially on fries
Tartar sauce isn't mustard .. And tartar sauce is a must when having fried fish .. I wouldn't eat fried fish if I didn't have tartar sauce , I'd sadly have to pass
