This is the first time I’ve seen/heard anyone like me, with similar experiences, talk about their relationship with the outdoors and be able to relate to it. Thank you guys ♥️
My escape or way to help myself or to get myself to feel better is skating. Cruising, carving, freestyle, etc. It helps me a lot to get through everything. Wether it's trying to ignore my dysphoria or just facing reality and accepting myself. It really gets me in my thoughts.
I came to your channel 4 years ago for the trans* content, I stayed for the hiking/outdoors stuff, because now 4 years later I'm done with my own transition and have picked up time in the outdoors as one of my favorite hobbies as well :)
I love this video, been a follower since the start of the channel! I've been blessed by being born in Costa RIca so we have hundres of national parks and lots of places to disconnect from the world. I used to be very depressed and anxious about my sexuality and by "isolating" myself through the woods I found my way to reach that internal peace. I believe that nature is the best therapy for a clouded mind.
the outdoors is super important to me. i love hiking and camping and it makes me really upset that where i live currently (germany) wild camping isnt allowed and hiking trails are few and far between, despite all of the forests they have around here.
"Look on a map. Look for green space. Look where you can go. Tell someone where you are going, and just go explore!" You know what? That's an EXCELLENT piece of advice, and I'm seriously gonna try to do it.
A friend of mine specifically excluded certain parts of Germany during his job search bc he needed to be within 1 hour of the alps. He lives in Munich now and his Instagram is flooded with great pictures from the outdoors. If you find a way to do it, I'd go for it! Especially if you're an outdoors person and need to be in nature more.
Not a green screen. It's an infamous IKEA picture. I see the canvas with this photo literally any time I'm at IKEA and I've seen so many households that sport it, lol. But damn hope OP was being sarcastic, because you can't possibly have thought it was anything other than a wall he was filming in front of?!
I love the outdoors and want to get back into it. Do you have any advice on how to start out? Or can you make a video on how to start becoming an avid hiker?
How do you reconcile your love for the outdoors and the knowledge that you wouldn't be able to be a transman if you lived for a long time in the outdoors?
I'm a farmer and traveler, and this is something I've thought about when I've considered what it would be like to disconnect for longer periods of time. The first thing to recognize, is that not having access to medical transition doesn't make anyone less trans or less of a man/woman/insert-gender-here. That said, I am someone who relies on medically prescribed hormones, as well as surgery. One thing I've recognized in my life, is that nothing has to be absolute, and moderation is generally a good thing. It's possible to get a prescription for a multiple-months-long supply of hormones, and for me, coming out of the wilderness every few months or a couple times a year for bloodwork & prescription refills would be well worth the trade-off, as would the occasional traveling for surgery. And this is even for the more extreme idea of living off in the wilderness away from almost all people for a number of years. Fitting in medical transition would be even easier with things like thru-hiking where there are checkpoints in towns with post offices and whatnot. So it's really all a balance of priorities and planning.

That makes me so happy to hear :)
This is a really inspirational video I love when UA-cam's show that they are not perfect and that things can happen to them too. This can inspire

Everyone has a different escape. What's important is that we can recognize it and own it :) Skating is an awesome one.
So glad to see your full, honest self back!
Feels good to be back!

Where in Germany do you live? I can only speak for southern Germany and the trails there but they are pretty good

Love you guys! Keep doing what you do and staying happy! :)
Currently, I am contemplating leaving NYC because I don't have access to the outdoors like I would. Very insightful!
Do it, humans are not created for a concrete jungle. Go out, experience our awesome planet, and live your life to the fullest
Yeah! Do it! Come to Canada we've got lots of it here!

This is a very reasonable thing to do I grew up there and it's beautiful. Instagram flooding with nature pics is also always greatly appreciated :)
love that!
