100 Kobudo Kata Challenge 2023

Karateka in Okinawa came together at Naminoue Beach in Naha City for the 100 Kobudo Kata Challenge. It's a chance for young students to test their stamina, and for the experienced teachers to pass on some of their knowledge.
Created by James Pankiewicz of the Asato Dojo, the 100 Kata for Karate Day, and the 100 Kobudo Kata Challenge have become popular with dojos around the world.

Very well done. I loved the welcoming spirit of each person & was impressed by the demonstration of the various forms, including the traditional weapons.
Of course, I was especially proud of Master Robert McLain performing Chayon Ryu Bong Hyungs 3 & 4!

Thank you! In the video, I performed original bo kata created by Yoon Kwe-byung (Yoon Ui-byung) and and bo kata created by Yoon Byung-in. Both were student of Toyama Kanken in Japan in late 1930's until 1945.
