I have the berhinger ultramizer. Definitely polishes the sounds, but nothing you can do with eq and compression. They were great for podcasts or narrations though. Really gives that clean thick voice.
I'm shocked at how much impact this cheap little piece of gear has. The Ultimizer as well. I run through a few different stages of EQ and compression but my final run goes into a HHB Radius 20 parametric EQ and finishes off into an HHB Radius 30 tube compressor. I'm shocked at how much better the quality of sound coming through the end is after adding the Exciter and Ultimizer.... combined total was like 240 bucks. Both the 20 and 30 are incredible (and super overlooked) pieces of gear..... even better with the Exciter agitating that signal towards the begining. For now this is still just a hobby for me.... but I've been playing around with extracted sound from UA-cam videos and the quality (considering) is f'in amazing! But the Exciter is something anyone interested in mastering should consider. If you're in a heavy band and you're recording at home this is a must.

I used 4 different exciters and enhancers and BBE Sonic maximizers but each one set differently
