I enjoy lovin' on my silver too much, gettin' them out and feeling their weight and hearing them sing. Guess that's why I stick with bullion and constitutional. Heck, even with my new "prospector" run, I'll still look at 'em from time to time. So, I suppose I'm more of a stacker than numismatic guy. I've had some graded slabs before, but eventually traded them for something else. I certainly do not think slabs are wrong my any means, if that's your thing, slab it up! I'll say this, every time I've converted fiat for real money, I leave with a deep feeling in my core that I have done a very good thing. Stack on!
I don't have any graded myself, but I am a believer of buy it if you like it. It is your collection. That was a fantastic deal on the Libertad! Nice coins.
That '86 looks like a champagne bubble! 🥂 I wish I knew the answer to your question on when do you know. I don't know. Please make a follow-up video with what you learn from this one. Great share brother! 👊🏼
Graded coins are a numismatic investment. It also protects them from scratching damage, but not toning or milkspots. The only downside is if the market falls off or SHTF, you likely will only get melt value or barter. There is a risk, like any investment. This is collecting, not stacking. Raw PMs are what to stack. Go for weight at the lowest price, regardless of toning (or milkspots, thiugh I do not buy milkspot silver), or condition. Weight is weight. If you get high premium items raw that is still collecting. I collect graded libertads (and raw ones) as well as high premium series', Star Wars, Black Flag, Marvel, DC, vintage, etc ... Stack generic bars, rounds and sovereigns. Get the best prices you can. Nothing wrong or right about either way to go.
I just submitted a few Libertads right out the tube to get graded. When I know if they come back an MS 70 and I can easily sell them for double of what I got into them its a no brainer.
If it's a bullion coin, i dont bother grading unless its a proof strike, or a special piece. And i dont really care about proof strikes, usually. Numismatic pieces, i usually prefer graded. Great video as always! Semper Fi
