I studied animation for 2 years at college and yet I have learned so much more in a couple of weeks from just working through your videos. Not even joking, these are great keep it up.
This is exactly why I started the channel - I learned more from my first week in a studio setting than I learned in 2 years of college. Thank you so much for this, I'm glad it's helping!
3D Animation Hub oo man you are following other animators so wise lol this one is purely gold! I’ve learnt a lot from you guys thank you for keeping updated and teaching us
3D Animation Hub indeed that’s great man your channel immensely has improved! I really like the content and tutorials I’m now at the military service don’t have a pc with me so I’m watching all the tutorials out there. I really like this channel too first time I found this channel by chance like I thought she’s a anime character at first then turned out that she’s guru of animation man. I have a request for your upcoming tutorials this facial animation, lip sync are all great I love it but seems that something’s missing like the secondary controllers around the cheek, all nose controllers and upper cheek, nostrils, chin, jaw they should be covered I think in future tutorials I would want to learn when to set them up is there any specific rule to move them around to the mouth like when it’s going down or close mouth how would these controllers react in this regard ? And when not to use them I understand we could go about perfecting the mouth shapes but without the secondary controllers it would still look mechanical I believe I hope this will be covered by you guys in the future Stay safe Cheers
Thanks @@dennissabrievski4543! I've been trying to learn and improve the content after each video, so I'm really happy it shows. And In regards to a more in-depth lipsynce, that's definitely something I'll look into doing in the future!
Hello, Skitty! Thank you very much for the valuable lessons, in two days I watched all videos from your channel and it was so clear! And soooo productive. I will look forward to new videos and advise your channel to all my Russian friends ;)
Thank you! I'm so glad they were helpful for you. I have a big project in the works for the channel right now, so look forward to that in about a week or so!
Aww I love this! Nicely done well explained! great tutorial like always Speaking of poses, i know I’m a bit too much asking you these days my apologies, I have a question. Is it possible to save cycles on a pose library in the student version of Maya ? in other versions yes it works But I can’t seem to import any cycles I made with the same character to the animation done with the same character inside Student version of Maya, directly, straight to Maya no wasting time through ATOM or anything If you can cover this up That’d be super awesome!
It would be very helpful if you posted your frames per second. Because when you say there should be a pose every two frames, that would depend entirely on your speed.
Hi Skitty, here's a special thanks to you for your easy to understand tutorials. I've learned a whole lot from your page. One quick question please. What key on the keyboard do you press when you middle mouse and move a key on the timeline. And what does it do? Does it copy and paste the Key on another frame or does it move the key entirely to the new frame? THanks
Another question please. So the mouth poses for the different sounds on the shelve, can they be used for another character entirely? particularly a character that needs to be rigged with the same body controllers.
Hi there! Glad to hear the tutorials are easy to understand! When I'm middle mouse dragging a key to a new key, it's copying your position to wherever you want it. Then you have to hit S to save it on the new key. As for the shelves, the poses can only be used to paste on the character you saved them with. If you want to paste to different characters, I recommend downloading the Studio Library plug-in. I recently made a tutorial on how to use Studio Library if you're unsure 😊
I have a question) You animate in one animation layer(eyes, brows, mouths) and use another animation layer for lipsing. Am i right? But then you smas it& i don/t understand of weight of layers, what the effect?
Hi there! Yes I animate everything on the base animation layer except for the lipsync shapes. When I lower the 'weight' of the lipsync layer, it blends it into the main animation layer. Since we posed out the mouth with the rest of our animation on the base layer, if I lower the lipsync shape layer to say, 85%, what will appear in the final product is a blended animation 85% influence from the lipsync layer, and 15% influence from the base animation layer. Does that make sense?
The mouth shape poses are moved to the shelf using the Pose2Shelf script. The pictures are something you add in your shelf preferences. I threw these ones together fairly quickly, but there's plenty of mouth shape charts online you can download and use.
Accents would be the same process as regular lip sync, just listening to the sounds that are being made, replicating them with your own mouth, then transferring it to the face of your character. :)

Thank you so much! This method is so much easier :)
great
that's really awesome and time saving with the separate layer for lip sync, but, how did you do that?

You're absolutely right, sorry for that oversight. This video is based on 24fps.

Hi) Tell me please, how did you get keys with a letter on the script shelf?
