We installed this awning today... Followed our common sense and installed the tube with the black crank pointing down. Then watched your video which shows at 10:12 that you're installing the tube roller with the emergency crank pointing UPWARDS. So, we decided to trust the professional, took the tube back off; just my husband and me in 103 degrees heat, him holding the tube up in the air, me taking the bolts and washer off, and redoing it all...Turned it like you show in the video, Emergency Crank UPWARDS. Just to realize in the end that the tube is installed wrong. Tomorrow we have to do it again and turn the tube with the Emergency Crank pointing down. Maybe you need to address this topic in the video. Thank you.

Just installed these arms and new fabric, I’m sure I did everything correct. It’s all intact, and wires connected
Just won’t stop at the REAL max it should be, it has its own set max, it’s not letting ME SET the max.
    Any advice?

I was wondering how to know if my RV has backing plates to mount on the lower part of the arm. I know my RV (Braxton Creek Free Solo FAM) Has backing metal across the top, but I am not sure about if there is a place to mount on the bottom. Any advice on how to figure this out before I order one?

Is there a minimum clearance above the door for the awning to be installed without scraping the corner of the door?

Did a few things done without explaining them an example, when he installed the very first bracket he did not state how far up or down the bracket should be on the side of the RV?

It is found in the manual that comes with the unit.

Great Video to show "a way" to install a new awning assembly! I assume a manual awning is similar expect for the electrical install. The other thought, could a person use 3/16 or larger pop-rivets instead of the screws (assuming a person has a pop-rivet tool)? And could a aluminum weather wrap be used as well (assuming Rec Pro makes awnings suitable for those types of weather guards)?

We do not recommend using pop rivets because they are not as strong as screws and can shear easier. We do not know about the aluminum wraps as we have never used them or sold them before.

Have this coming to replace one that was ripped off while driving. Do I have to use the provided rail to hold the awning or can I use my existing awning rail on my 5th wheel?

I was also confused by him not using the existing rail/gutter combo that comes with almost all RVs.

@@johnstricks269 I installed this and I was able to use my existing rail. I did this myself and it was a fairly easy install.

So what if we dont have a max? It rolls out then immediately starts retracting. Any suggestions?

I just installed an Awnlux awning which looks to be identical to the recpro. I though I had that same issue, I just had to crank that screw a ton, finally I was able to find its position and adjust from there.
