Why I Renounced AKA: Idolatry, Rituals, and Covenants

- A few months ago, I officially repented and renounced my initiation and involvement with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. I actually stopped participating in anything related to the sorority years ago and thought that was enough, but it’s not - and I will get into all those details in this video. God made it clear to me that my membership in a sorority or any secret society is idolatry, and is not of God and in direct opposition to my life as a believer in Christ.
This video isn't to condemn anyone or to cast judgment on anyone's walk with Christ -- it's simply to share how the rituals and covenants don't line up with the Word of God and actually contradict scripture in a number of ways. But please don't just take my word for it! Pray, study the scriptures, and line it up with what God says in His Word. And He will give you the answers you are looking for.
I also do not recommend going down a UA-cam rabbit hole. All testimonies ain't biblical OK? Lol! Again, please go to God first. After you do that, and you do want some biblically sound resources, I'll link a few below.

I'm going through the same with my brothers, sisters-in-law, nephew and cousins. Ironically, they are all involved with the ministry and vow to love the Lord, yet they remain spiritually blinded as it pertains to their sororities or fraternities. I'm definitely praying for all of our loved ones to repent before it's everlasting too late. 🙏🏼

Woooowww! BC of your testimony, I realize that the Lord was truly protecting me! I was on my way to being inducted and ended up running into a renouncement video. I obeyed and have not joined, but still thought the whole org thing was cool, just not okay for me.
Now I truly understand that it is not okay for any believer. Twisting the Word is a major no-no and wicked agenda from the enemy.

My Mom was asked to join a Graduate Chapter, but I remember something she said years ago about the lack of aim - immaturity - vain glory... Certainly the spiritual aspects would've turned her completely off! She was a super success in her own right and didn't need the "sisterhood" for the altruistic aspects because she was active in other clubs that truly aimed at community engagement!

Not a member but l have several family members that are AKA'S and Deltas. The tables and paraphernalia on the table reminds me of an evil altar. Very serious matter. Wow, my best friends in college wanted me to pledge. I wasn't comfortable with the hazing so I walked out as an older AKA taunted me. My friends and I were never close after they crossed and its eye-opening to see what I was actually about to get myself into

I have seen a few of the denunciation videos on UA-cam. Although I have never pledged, I think this is so important for Christian’s that we must put away all idols-anything that we try to place in or as God.

For those still in the organization or thinking about joining, the covenant was set in motion when one agreed to wear the colors or perform certain acts and of course participate in the ceremony . Repeating the words was the icing on the cake. Satan is truly a deceiver. All of it is witchcraft.

My husband is part of "Greek"life! I'm NOT! He has friends whose wives are a member of a sorority. The women (some) treated me with a long handle spoon as if l'm less than...not a sister ect. When I'm around THEM they act as if they can't relate to me because IM NOT A SOROR.....I SO BADLY WANT TO SAY NIGGA PLEEEEZE!!!!! BUT I DONT! ....I DON'T.....BUT I WANT TO. 😂😂😂👀👀👀🤣🤣l'm sorry

it's crazy cuz I've always wanted to be an AKA since high school because I wanted to be a validated "pretty girl". I felt that would validate me. I was insecure. But I never got to pledge, when I was in college they were suspended, and I had 3 more times to try and I obstacles happened. That was nothing but GOD protecting me from this. He knew and he was protecting me from what I wanted...Thank You God!

I denounced Alpha Phi Alpha, after 19 years (18 years active, meetings, and financial), back in May 2019. God is nowhere near these organizations. Think about it, "The Divine Nine." Divinity is associated with a god or gods. The gods associated with these organization come from highly paganized socieities: ancient Greece, Rome and ancient Egypt.
Is a National Honor Society’s the same thing? I joined one and didn’t do all of these things but I don’t want to be attached to anything that can possible separate me from God.
Is it bad?
I'm not familiar with honor societies and if there were/are any oaths involved. I recommend that you attempt to locate the initiation process if there was one, and then take a look at the words you spoke. And take it to God in prayer. He will speak to you!
I don't remember there being an initiation process, nor is there any requirement to swear an oath to a false diety to join the Honor Society, so it's not the same.
I renounced Alpha Phi Alpha. God is good.

When people are offended by the truth of Gods word(which is the only absolute truth), it’s usually coz the enemy has deceived them , it convicts them coz they themselves are living in sin or are in error to the truth and they’re just trying to justify it.
It’s mind boggling that so many preachers of God’s Word go through these rituals and the “crossing of burning sands” and don’t see how deeply blasphemous they’re covenants are written in comparison to the Bible!? I don’t see how there’s not an alarm sounding at the moment these words sound so familiar to the Word? It’s so heartbreaking to know that the deception has to be that real when they don’t see this level of darkness but hey, I don’t judge because I didn’t see the problem with Marvel Universe until the Lord opened my eyes. I pray for all that are blind to idolatry.
So this is truly a good step in obeying/following YahWh God's commandments; to keep all His laws and commandments and live. We have to love Him the way He commands from His word. Repent and turn from this world's ways family. Blessings 🙏🏾

No, never. It is still idolatry so I would not. The manipulation of scripture just makes it even more apparent.

While I support the individual choice to leave any group based on an individual's own deeply held personal beliefs, Christians leaving a Greek fraternity or secret society like the Prince Hall Masons or the Order of Eastern Star (two organizations my family has been involved with for generations while holding prominent positions in the church with distinction and honor including elders, deacons, youth directors and pastors btw) based on the fear and ignorance-driven claim that God told them it is idolatry or not of God is rooted in superstition and is deeply ignorant for several reasons.
*Lack of scriptural basis* The Bible does not anywhere explicitly condemn participation in fraternities or sororities. There are no specific verses that label these type of organizations as idolatrous or against God's will. Therefore, claiming divine guidance without any scriptural basis can be seen as a personally motivated, superstitious interpretation. Are you actually ordained and guided under a conference, or are you merely pontificating without qualified authority?
*Misinterpretation of Idolatry* Idolatry refers to the worship or excessive reverence of something other than God. Fraternities are not religious institutions and do not require or promote worship of any kind. Leaving a fraternity solely on the basis of it being labeled as idolatrous demonstrates a misunderstanding of what idolatry actually is.
*Ignorance of the Fraternity's Values* Many Greek organizations have strong values that align with Christian principles, such as community service, leadership development, and academic excellence. By encouraging other people to not join a fraternity or to leave a fraternity without fully understanding the fraternity's mission and principles, you may unduly influence others to miss out on valuable opportunities for personal growth and positively impacting their communities.
*Failure to Engage* Christians are called to engage with the world and be salt and light, positively influencing their surroundings. Leaving a fraternity based on fear and ignorance is an obvious departure from this calling. Shrinking away from engaging with diverse perspectives and potentially serving as a positive influence within the organization because you're afraid to be around people who are different from you is a HUGE mistake. Jesus hung out with the outcasts and weirdos, not those who lined up in the front row of the temple.
Admittedly, my words are direct, but it's never my intention to be unkind. My remarks shouldn't be taken as a blanket statement about all decisions based on religious convictions. It's important to respect that people have deeply held personal beliefs and convictions. That said, it is equally important to encourage critical thinking, open dialogue, and an informed understanding of the implications of those beliefs and to be prepared to debate them in the public square if the public square is where you choose to present your personal beliefs as religious doctrine of any kind. What say you?

There is a big difference! It comes down to what God are you giving reverence too. Because if it's a ritual from the bible than it should represent the GOD of the Bible (KJV 1611) HIS words and HIS culture, actions, and HIS KINGDOM!!!

Thank you for your question. Baptism is a commandment from the Lord in Scripture. Matthew 28:19-20 and Acts 2:38 are just a couple references that you can study. Any ritual that God didn't ordain is idolatry. I hope that answers your question!

You quote the 1611 KJV, and you take it as the word of God, however the 1611 gets its version from the vulgar and so and and so on. This can’t be the word of God friend because, they are all versions of a myth. Do you read Ancient Greek? Or Aramaic? Or even Biblical Hebrew? I don’t either, but I’m not claiming what God commands or what he doesn’t. In other words your religion just like fraternities or sororities are made up. But they can add value to our society just like church folks can. IMO

Obedience & belief in His Word, giving oneself over to Daily prayer, and Repentance (turning away & saying No on purpose) to living & thinking like the World thinks, are ways to put Faith to action. Without Faith, we can’t please God. God will Never deny us good things if we seriously commit our lives to Him. The motive & intention must be pure though! So sorry to break this news to you, but covenant agreements can never be broken. They are of a spiritual nature. The only “one”that can dissolve it is the one who has the authority over the covenant-the spirit which was invoked. I hope you are able to find peace. Miracles and blessings.
Hi Rosie! Do you have scripture references to back this up? Jesus was born, died and rose again to break the evil covenant man made with Satan in the Garden of Eden. It's true that we cannot break them of our own accord, but only by the power of the Holy Spirit!

I dated someone from that sorority in 2017 and things didn't work out between us. we met when we were in 7th grade, finally had the opportunity to date each one however , I was in for a ride & experience that I wasn't prepared for. ( worst experience of my life ) It ruined everything it could have been as well as, everything we had established thru out the years.

I am not nor have I every been in a Greek org. I graduated from college decades ago. I don't know why these videos keep showing up on my feed.🙄🤷🏽♀️ Sororities are a social organization.They are giving themselves a purpose. This is secular vs non secular. It's not that serious. Just don't join anything outside of your church. Wait until you're over 50, things will become more clear.
