NAO are the greatest band to emerge in last decade. Listen to their albums. Live they are great, recorded they nail it, complicated time sigs and changes are PERFECTLY judged, Lyrics are outstanding, poetic and interesting. I love interesting heavy music. Drawing Maps From Memory ffs is the best. The best song I'd heard at that time for a long while, It had as much impact as Re: Stacks by Bon Iver for me. Fog Electric was my life soundtrack for a good year, 'Expert With Altimeter' my morning ritual. Buy their albums. Set up tour alerts! (I hope they do someting in S Wales / Bristol but would travel big miles to see them)
I was almost persistently bored with most music in the zero's, until Grappling Hooks dragged me out of that. Never predictable, highly skilled and creative and always spot on whether it's about heavy stuff (drawing maps indeed), catchy, dreamy, dreary, warm, soothing, just plain odd and beyond. Sam's solo albums Sand and A Sleeper just awake are highly recommended, too.
fine fellow this vocalist

Thanks. Will check out the recommendations, something cropped up on Spotify suggestions but when I searched Sam Healy I got nothing!!
