    - Multiday runners criteria: beginning cap: 10-100m; float: 10-50m (10-100m is okay, but over 100m is a little tricky. It has to get really crowded to become a float rotation stock and if over 100m, it doesn’t meet ideal range). Minimum extension for multiday runners: (neutralised price before run to highest point of multiday run) is typically 2000-3000%. 3) identify key points for momentum change/ break and cover points. So, before volume starts coming in is the neutralised price to calculate extension%. The first bigger volume green candle is the support.

    - As the stock breaks it’s support level. That level becomes a new resistance instantly
    -
    - This is not perfect odds for multiday runner on first try because you’re risking $3 to making another $4. Risk reward around 1:1. You know the stock should lose 50-75%, and there’s support around $4, so dipping around $4 isn’t bad. Selling point is below the $8 area. So on average you can make 20-25%

If you’re green, you should be proud for managing risk well. And fomo’s just a thing if you let it be. As key levels get tested more, do they become weaker or stronger. What do y’all think and why?

    • @bigding8977
      @bigding8977 4 роки тому +3

      For overhead resistance, multiple strong attempts on higher highs could make that level weaker. When a stock loses momentum, it makes lower highs. It doesn't even have enough volume to attempt a second or third breakout. I was shorting TAL, and saw resistance at 57 to 58. It had tried about 4 times to break through in the past 2 months. I shorted at 57 and it broke higher. And maybe volume is a factor. If key levels get tested on decreasing volume, they would seem to become stronger. I was shorting Weibo (WB) and the price was decreasing toward a key support level, but the volume kept getting smaller and smaller. And then it bounced, and price went higher for the rest of the day.

    • @desmondwong740
      @desmondwong740 4 роки тому +4

      @@bigding8977 Not sure about Weibo(since idk what time frame you are talking about), but for TAL, shorting at the 57-58 level is very dangerous(assuming you are talking about the resistance at May 20-28). In my experience, the overhead resistance doesn't become weaker or stronger because of volume and repeated attempts. Steven's high probability volume patterns are really powerful for low-float stocks BUT NOT IN LARGE CAP TICKERS such as TAL. They might work wonders in penny stocks but I wouldn't know since I'm not actually good enough to trade those(I trade large cap stock options). Like you said, you should be looking for lower highs and higher lows. Leading up the resistance at 57-58 for TAL on May 28, there was a series of higher lows. This tells us large-cap traders that there is a validated uptrend where we can look to go long on dip-support levels. Generally, a rule of thumb is to NEVER SHORT during uptrends and NEVER GO LONG during downtrends unless you are looking for very short term profit. Hope this helps!

    • @bigding8977
      @bigding8977 4 роки тому

      @@desmondwong740 Thanks man, this is a great lesson. I had to learn the hard way. Yes, I shorted TAL in May. I also trade mostly options. Thanks for sharing your insights. This will save a lot of money and frustration going forward.

    • @aalluubbaa
      @aalluubbaa 4 роки тому +1

      @@bigding8977 When you look at those low float, they are usually pump and dump. For example, they have no basis of fundamentals, not profitable, and their prices have no relation to what they are doing so the time they spend staying at the pumped prices are relatively short compared to their normal trading days. So the whole thought process behind shorting those low float or garbage stocks is that it would eventually go back down so you just wait for signs of weakness. There is a strong emotion behind those pumped stocks because everyone is in ONLY for the ride and most people are in solely because the fact that the price was on a strong uptrend. Basically, people just buy it because it goes up and you can't blame them as it's the only thing matters in trading! So when prices show weakness, it would drop back down to where it was first pumped and a lot of time lower.
      On the other hand, TAL for example, is a real stock with real business which makes profits. The resistance you see is just an area where people take profits. It's not a strong emotion because buyers buy it for good fundamentals and sellers sell it for profit-taking.
      When you trade a ticker, don't just look at setups. Look at the emotions behind it.

    • @aalluubbaa
      @aalluubbaa 4 роки тому +1

      @@desmondwong740 One of the most powerful emotion is uptrend profit-taking as we saw last Thursday on SPY. Sometimes the STRONGEST intra-day trend is a counter-trend for the daily chart. SPY, Air lines, Cruise and all those short opportunities are over-extended uptrends.
      Don't just go long on strong stocks or short on stocks which gap down the most. If trading were that easy, everyone is profitable. Look for signs of strong emotions, it could be counter-trend, trend-following or whatever. It would make your trading more flexible.
