The show's success is another example of the Korean Wave, or Hallyu, of Korean culture that's sweeping the world. In this Q&A Sylvia Kim talks about her memories of Dalgona candy, the true origins of Mukbang and why her country Korea is making her proud.

It's nice to hear thoughts of proud Koreans, or, in this case, one who represents their culture, with regards to current world-wide trends. As she mentioned, some of the words that have been included in the Oxford dictionary, though used haphazardly have origins that some people misuse due to lack of understanding the true origin of the term. I am with her in finding hopes of being inclusive with the new terms by having a deeper understanding of the culture. By doing so, we would create a wider tolerance of ambiguity.
