Yes, it is a modern classic and beautifully designed game. I would argue it is provably my favorite RE game but I am always back and forth between RE2 98 and 2019, but I always want to put RE7 in that conversation. I no longer have a defined or set favorite RE title, but RE7 would have a great argument.

It's still not what Resident Evil is supposed to be. "No one knew" means that we could not call this game a Resident Evil game because it is not identical to any of the old titles.
Now we have RE8, which may not be as horror centric (due to “fan” complaints), but it’s fucking fantastic. Now we need a Resi game with Jill, Chris, Leon, Claire, and Ada all together.

Between the continuation of the main games, the remakes and maybe even, the spin-offs (Revelations 3 ?) we’ve been getting nothing but extremely high quality horror games and for that, I am eternally grateful ❤️ You definitely had lost your way a little with 6, and this was when you took the world by storm and put it all on the line with 7! Ultimately not only saving but reinstalling the franchise as THE huge yearly heavy hitter when to comes to survival horror... Because, it is when we take a look at the only real franchise that “could” be considered of similar caliber (even better maybe at some remote point in the past) that it is apparent that making legendary games of such magnitude definitely isn’t easy... I wish that Konami, and the old “Team Silent” would look at you as an example. Silent Hill as a franchise to me still holds the titles that have touched me the most and that I would uphold as maybe the greatest titles in the genre period... But the way that they’ve been treating their IPs and their fans over the years just can’t entice any fan no matter how loyal to stick around for that clown show of theirs. I love how they used the stage, having the screen float in the middle and projecting on AND around it. It gives that feeling of claustrophobia of being in the house but being part of something bigger. 12/10 would play again.

5 years later and RE7 remains one of my favorite games of the last decade. Currently on my 9th playthrough and am enjoying it as much as I did the very first time I played it. And now, Village looks to be almost up there with it. Capcom is still killing it.

I remember watching this with my cousin at home. Me and him were absolutely confused and we didn’t know what game this was to be. The Aunt Rhody song came in and we still didn’t know what this was. Then the 7 came up, we both said to ourselves “No way. Don’t tell me.” Then the title came up, we both lost our shit. We had no idea that THIS is going to be a Resident Evil game, let alone it being a major installment. Me and him could not wait to play the game when it came out.
This game is a benchmark in the history of not just horror games but any type of game, this game is unique and for any game to surpass the feels that this game gives even when seeing a gameplay is very difficult, it will be a landmark in the history of gaming, always.

Resident Evil 7 was such a good game and the remake of 2 is hands down my favourite Resident Evil game. Here’s to hoping that 8 is just as good as 7.

The 3 remake was a bump in the road, though. It wasn't very good at all. But 7 and 8 definitely raised the bar for horror as a whole.

After the RE6 failed to revive the franchise... Glad that RE7 and 8 just stormed the world
This game is a benchmark in the history of not just horror games but any type of game, this game is unique and for any game to surpass the feels that this game gives even when seeing a gameplay is very difficult, it will be a landmark in the history of gaming, always.

Anyone going back here after beating the game years later?
This is how you reveal a game and show off that not only is it bringing back the horror in a franchise with an identity crisis going on, that you are also making something that is new but is going back to its roots at the same time. Resident Evil 7 was such a good game and the remake of 2 is hands down my favourite Resident Evil game. Here’s to hoping that 8 is just as good as 7.

@@GheeseEmpty Just completed 8 funnily enough, not as scary as 7 but gameplay wise it’s better and I had more fun with 8. But the fear factor was missing, apart from a couple of sections.
Hope Re8 is at least half as good as Re7!
Man, this game is scary. My sister and I don't want to finish it, but we love it so much. It's genuinely one of the best of 2017.

Talk a return to form when Capcom ditched the action shooter style then the RE2 & RE 3 remakes and now Village... Capcom saved the franchise for me and im happy
@The Infinity Nerd Re3 remake was enjoyable, not the best of the series, but it was ok for me.
@@ElFaboP it was enjoyable but was also pretty actiony and easily the worst re game since the return of the franchise. Although living up to re7 and re2 remake was never gonna be easy for them
