I use to catch the train from Belgium to Copenhagen on vacation and extended weekends back in the early 1980's. I remember the wax museum there was a Premier attraction. "Christianshavn" was also an attraction. I remember booking rooms at the train station for 10 crowns a night. The First Airbnb. Just a wonderful experience every time I visited.
I was in Copenhagen last month! Its a nice city! I'm from the Netherlands. Back in the 70s Copenhagen looks like Amsterdam!! and Denmark looks like the Netherlands also! The Landscapes looks like the same as us!
As a german I totally agree. It's a miracle of nature that we are in between you two and don't seem to fit in. Also the spirit of Dutch and Danish are closer to each other. However, two great countries to go for holidays.
I was born there, February 1964. That was my first summer I never recollected, being just a few months old. My big sister was 2 years old. My mother, 23, and my dad, 24.
If someone would ask me: In which time you would like to live 1964 or now? My answer would be 1964. It was so beautiful. I wished I could go back to this time.
... and home of the wonderful Olsengang ;) All the Pathé films in this series I have seen work like a strong, velvet Espresso. Probably because its my year of birth. Thankyou ♥️
I honestly don't think copenhagen has changed that much since then. Everything is very recognizable. Where the fishmarket is in the beginning, there is very crowded during the summer with people who sit and drink beers in the sun. The road is also gone and the waterfront is filled with café's
Lovely film, showing the city when it still had charm and cosy ('hyggelig') atmosphere, before becoming the traffic-clogged glass-and-concrete soulless creation that it is today (2024).
I love old photographs and films of Copenhagen, when the tram network was operational. I would like to "go back in time" and be able to ride on it.

Denmark is much more beautiful than the Netherlands, Denmark has only one neighbor country it's Germany otherwise it's surrounded by water

Copenhagen surprisingly didn't change that much at all compared to other European cities.

I'm interested in knowing the name of the street or square at 1:28
It's Rådhuspladsen (literally "City Hall Square")
Thank you:)
