Black Metal with ONLY BASS
Вставка

- Electric guitars are probably the most significant instruments in Black Metal, aside from the drums. The bass guitar mostly remains unnoticed. Let's change that a make a full Black Metal song WITHOUT guitars.
Only bass... okay and drums... and vocals.

Such a good voice for black metal, can never get enough of those howls
Yeah and I can actually tell the words 😮
Agreed. Pay attention Farvaan 👍🤘
Necromantia released some of the best BM I know with an 8 string and a 4 string bass and no rhythm guitars. Everything is possible in BM.
Was looking for this comment, great album!
and Barathrum. and Anthennath, and early Watain, whose bass and guitars united perfectly.
Scarlet evil witching black and ancient pride are some if not the best greek black metal releases
When you're only left with a bassist because your guitarist had.. multiple accidents happen to him.
Just a little song for the summer silly season. Cheers!
If it was one whole scale lower and no distortion/overdrive, it would have been perfect. Good song, though.
Vocals are really good
But aren't bass
I would like to hear an entire album in this style
Armagedda's album Ond Spiritism is a perfect example of bass being used audibly and integral to the music in Black Metal,I wish more bands did this
Amen

That is so sick! I love bass, especially when I hear it use in black metal genre. Nevertheless, I stuck here because of this golden vocal!
If I'm not wrong, the first Barathrum album was recorded with 3 bass guitars (and they also claimed the drummer was using human bones instead of drum sticks).
its sounds god damn cool man, we need more bass black metal!
That's called blackened death. :D
Really liked the ending of the song. The thick sound of the bass added such a cool atmosphere to that riff.
It's a shame bass is not used in black metal very well, but when it is, it adds so much to the song.
Great video!
Awesome vocals man, keep it up!
I'm a bassist and I have to admit, this is way better than what I expected when I opened the video. And the vocals are awesome dude !!
Same thing. Fuck guitars!!!
This sounds pretty cool. While ago Simon Smith recorded acoustic versions of some black metal classics, which sounded even better. Would love to hear only bass or acoustic guitar black metal album.
Love those vocals! I’m not really a massive fan of the high pitched and prefer those pained howls, much more aggressive sounding imo.
Bass + guitar effect = metal ✅
Cliff burton have done it with super metal riff..
Your vocals have really improves since the beginning, props 🎉
@Farvann
So, you just prove it’s perfectly possible without any guitar.
Bravo.
Nice Necromantia cover.
Necromantia be like:
Necromantia used 8-string bass, not a fan, but interesting stuff
Barathrums first album (Hailstorm) is a pretty good example of being bass-lead black metal
There was a local black metal band where I used to live near that did this just drummer, vocalist and bassist. Bassist was vocalist
There are good bands like that, in my city there is one, Defuntos.
I used to do bass and lead vocals in a punk band and we kept recruiting guitarists who turned out to be unreliable and didn't show up to practise/gigs.
So a lot of our shows ended up sounding kinda like this as we had it *down* playing with no guitars.
On the album we did I had to play the guitars. (Which is fine these days but was uncharted territory back then.)
Is no one gonna talk about that satisfying ass riff
pretty interesting. i think adding more distortion and playing some power chords way down the neck would sound even better
Dope bass tremolo picking! 🔥🤘🏼
best thing i've heard all month
sounds good. bass ist so ein geiles instrument. ich weis noch wie mir die kinnlade runtergefallen ist als ich erfuhr dass das for whom the bell tolls intro mit einem bass gespielt wird :3
cool riffs Biervann
Yeah, I know what it is, I mean, i play the guitar part with my bass on all my songs !
The secret ingredient hehe
Gallhammer - At The Onset of The Age of Despair
has the greatest bass solo.
Stark, da ging mir ja schon ein wenig das Herz auf, als du diese wunderbaren Töne aus meinem Lieblingsinstrument geholt hast!
Stoner Doom is a good one with just bass.
Glad to see that many people mentioned our very own Necromantia as an example of bass-only black metal. Truly one of a kind black metal from my homecountry Greece :D
This sounds really cool.
Really good.
I will (hopefully) be alive to see farvann hit 100k.... AT LAST
Maybe in 12 months or something. Stay healthy! 😄
Reminds me of that experiment Markus Grosskopf made: Hellbassbeaters. A full album of bass, bass and more bass with collaborations by basically every bassist in the world. Turned out quite nice!
Bass Respect!
Cliff Burton would be proud.
Whoa nice job!
even more haunting vocals than Varg's
wow that sounds great and it's also a very good song👍🤘👍
Very well done!
amazing how you recreated the sound of the drums and vocals with the bass
Right?!
Great stuff Farv, keep it up!
Sick asf 🙌
Sounds really good to me
Necromantia's first few albums are only bass if I recall correctly
Yes except their last one
Necromantia did use only bass, this band got rid of the guitar and replaced it with an 8-string bass.
this is scandalous that I had to scroll this far to see someone naming Necromantia, they're underrated
if lemmy did black metal
Fkn great concept.
Cool riffs! Love it!
Actually sounds really nice!
That was actually pretty sick :y
man you accidentally made a riff i've been working on bruh (nice song tho)
If Cliff Burton would have discovered BM before Metallica 🐼🦡🦓🦝🎸🤘👍
Really a great track 👌🤘
Great sound! Thanks!
absolutely awesome stuff!
With only bass.. And drums and vocals!
I'm kind of glad you did this in a way. I play the bass, but don't have any friends into metal. I've considered trying to find a way to make it work either doing some black metal or grindcore. Maybe a mix of the two. Glad to see it still sounds cool.
Doldrum have some good bass lines.
These melody parts sounds sick. It could be an interesting side project 😎
Bass players seeing this video:
YOOOO LOOK AT THIS YOU FILTHY GUITAR PLAYERS, IT CAN BE DONE!!!
*proceeds to not make any records or bands with only bass*
Awesome!!!
damn, man, really loved your vocals, that's sick af
Maybe you'll enjoy my band then
@@Farvann just listened to Durbatuluk and I really enjoyed that. Nice work bro
@@tomcaldas Thank you!
True kvlt spinal tap
amazing, i wonder how it would sound with bad production quality. I bet id be epic.
That bridge is soo good, I love bridges
This was a cool idea and you pulled it off amazingly. Your voice sounds like what Varg was probably trying to sound like in early Burzum but yours sounds much stronger and better than his did though.
He apparently is happy with the vocals on Hvis Lyset Tar Oss, so I think that's more 'what he was trying to sound like'...
I have a long ways to go but I’m trying to make black metal and doom metal with just bass, drums and vocals.
I’ve done weird things like split my bass signal in two and having one bass eqd high and guitar type distortion; things like that.
It’s experimental but fun
Fuckin sick song. great vocals and delivery too
It honestly sounds more or less the same as using a 7 or 8 string, haha. Pretty good stuff.
Your so talented
Hammer geil!
Thick fat tone, sounds great
Well I guess you started a trend there, see those "Bass-BM"-Bands popping up in some months.
Jokes aside, sounds good.
¡Gracias!
Thank you!
So basically Bell Witch, but not Funeral Doom Black Metal. Also great work on this one it sounded very cool and your vocals are very cool.
sounds relaxing
2:17 awesome
Sehr gut)
Someboy listened to the final Gallhammer Album ^^
I have their full discography. But I prefer their Gloomy Lights album over anything else.
Bass in black metal is already a taboo... but ONLY bass??? This is BLASPHEMY!
Necromantia would like to have a word with you
Next video then Black Metal only with Guitar ;D
Very good song! btw Necromantia had done this with Scarlet Evil Witching Black, creating one of the best BM ever!
NICE TONE
Great!
This just sounds like death metal
I wonder if there are any two piece bands that sound like this.
Oh das klingt super!
The black metal police aprove this🤟🏻
Man, your voice is very close to Franta’s. Not bad.
that was realy good and great voice to
the album reality is in evil from lords of the left hand is enterely only bass
🔥🔥🔥
Офигенный вокал ❤
