Catie Monroe?, the show's creator, Craig Bartlett, confirmed that they DO end up together, that they eventually marry and have a couple kids. I wouldn't be at all surprised if 'The Jungle Movie,' which at long last comes out this November, helps to cement that.
"I think I need to go lie down." -I'll go with you. XD That's pretty raw. Almost as crazy when Helga said Arnold made her girlhood tremble in that one episode. Lol
If anyone is curious, I read in an interview with Craig Bartlett, the creator, that Arnold was just a bit overwhelmed but had he had the time he needed, he would have reciprocated her feelings. That's why he finally does in "The Jungle Movie". The movie was supposed to come out after the series ended however, it didn't end up happening. But as time passed, he was finally able to release information such as the story's plot to the public. This caused actual protests that were posted online which were signed and sent in to Nickelodeon to let them know they made a mistake and that people wanted to see the movie happen. I can't believe I'm just now realizing after all this time, but these two have got a pretty deep connection with storms and water, don't they? Their first meeting in the rain, getting washed out of the biosphere, the school flood, this... Makes me wonder if TJM would've tied-up that theme with a pretty pink ribbon.
You could probably throw in all their little talks on the city's pier and park bridge (over the stream), too. Oh, and the end of April Fools Dance is a HUGE one. They literally push / pull each other into the pool... I'd put hard money on that waterfall in 'The Journal' making a reappearance in TJM. Especially since it's FINALLY getting made!
Well, in TJM, Helga’s locket created a storm of the cure that woke up Arnold’s parents, and that was the last good thing she did for him, which finally made him realize that he loves her too. So in a way, it kind of did

I thought Arnold’s line was better “there’s no time for that!” Like he was either trying to come up with an excuse that wouldn’t hurt her feelings, or wasn’t rejecting her lol!
This pissed me off...of course Arnold would turn her down when she acts like a lunatic and that kiss look like it hurt shit. Helga was suppose to show her kinder side not act like she escaped out of a mental institution. I know Helga is little crazy sometimes, but this was too much I needed to lie down too after watching that. Gerald's part was funny though lol. But uh I felt so embarrassed for Helga, I love her as a character....oh well at least Arnold was polite.
+Shauna Scott " Helga was suppose to show her kinder side not act like she escaped out of a mental institution." If I remember right, at this part of the movie, they were both under a lot of stress, and Helga doesn't handle stress well.
This is still like one of the best helga monologues I love it so much. Even more than the jungle movie one, which felt like forced and awkward because she wasnt being genuine about helping arnould find his parents its what she got out of it and in this anonymos senario you can tell she didnt care if she got credit she just wanted to do something to help her love.
That's the reason I prefer the first movie better. Helga helps Arnold because she loves him. In the jungle movie at first she cares for the credit which is Arnold's appreciation and love. Later she helps because she cares but her behaviour wasn't nice at first, it was awkward and egotistical.
I just watched the movie and this is exactly what I thought. Like "If I help Arnold find his parents he'll fall in love with me" or "I'm the reason why we're here. You wouldn't be here to find your parents without me!" Excuse me this is not the Helga I know from my childhood. She was selfless and would do anything for Arnold with not expecting anything in return. She did that in lots of episodes and never told him about any of them.
This was great. It was nice that Helga was able to finally get everything off her chest and admit her true feelings, then acting on them in a non-scripted environment like in a dream, daydream, or her other fantasies. Not only that, Arnold isn't objecting or repulsed by her confession so much as he is overwhelmed and confused as hell; his expressions to me read "Wth is going on?" and "What is happening here!?" with the shock and stun on his end. After all, the girl he's known as a bully who especially targets him at worst and a vitriolic friend at best for all the years he's known her comes out and says that she's actually head-over-heels in love with him to the point of obsession with stalking, shrines and entire journals of poetry, topped off by a spur-of-the-moment kiss? Who wouldn't be thrown for a loop? Gerald's untimely interruption was the best though. Helga's adamant "NOT NOW!!!" at how she clearly does not want any inverse "cock-blocks" to her moment with her crush (then promptly tossing the communicator aside) and Gerald's equally 'dafaq?' reaction (considering he has absolutely no idea what just transpired with his best friend and was likely only trying to remind him of their current time deadline) is too hilarious.
I watch full episodes for free on pollystreaming.com and funniermoment.com. just type in the episode in the search bar and you can watch any of them. I love hey arnold (1994 nick kid).
Jack Jackson lmao true. like as shes vlabbering to him and bedore she kissess him he just goes, "Helga, calm down." and puts his arm on her shoulder and says, "I've known for the longest time..I was just waiting to hear you admit it.." And then he goes, "Well, this goes without saying," and bamm he kissess HER!!! now that would be epic. then after the kiss helga is like, "I cant believe how much of an idiot I was..this whole time..you-" "_Yeah," and then he does that cute little side grin lol that he does at the end of the movie after she tells him she hates him again.
Pretty sure arnold would be that perspective if this movie cared about keeping them a couple so it would be a good line but it didnt as she says it was a lie at the end so yeah his scarres reaction speaks volumes....
@@dellaswanson9837 no helga is an insecure entitled loser bully and for sexually harassing Arnold I hope he smacks her in the face to make up for all those times
Everyone here is like talking about the fact they kissed and everyone's so happy, and I'm here thinking, "Wow, Arnold is really attractive for a tv character.'
Honestly, this show would not have been nearly as good without Helga. She is far and away the absolute best thing about this show. I have the entire DVD box set of this show, and every single episode that heavily features her are all my favorite ones. I remember originally hating her guts, but when the Christmas Special finally aired it changed my entire perspective. The special literally made me break down into tears, how can a mere cartoon move you to feel such things? Helga found a way. I've always been so jealous of Arnold knowing an amazing girl like Helga was so completely obsessed with him. Yes she was more or less the main bully for everyone in school, and was the Big Bad Helga, but shes just so compelling as a character, so sympathetic despite her crude and cruel behavior. Shes a 9 year old with the mental and emotional age of a girl whos like 19. Shes also very brilliant academically but this aspect is rarely showcased in the show, instead that glory is always given to Olga and Phoebe. Long story short, I would love being with a girl like Helga and Hey Arnold is in my top 3 All Time list of cartoons first and foremost because of Helga G Patakiy.
@@blackmoonlilith4080 Lol same. I literally finished the show along with both movies last night. I think it aged really well and is VERY clever and funny! There is one sexual innuendo that I remember in the Summer Love episode in which Arnold’s grandma went to a nude beach and came back with the nudists to the beach! Lmao how did Nick let them get away with it? The 90s were surely a different time! No one could get away with that now
It's a shame Francesca Marie Smith retired from acting in the early 2000s, cause man is she talented. She was like 16 when she recorded this, and that's after basically getting Helga perfectly all the way back when she was 10-11.
Same sentiments. Francesca is a prodigious child voice actress, and I can’t imagine anyone voicing Helga other than her. But I like that she retired early. Helga was a part of her childhood until she was sixteen, like a metaphor for letting go of childhood. She returned for the Jungle Movie and Kart Racers and still delivered an excellent performance after over twenty years.
Best Damn scene ever! And I love Helga's personality! you might not know but Helga's Hungarian stereotype (even her name is Hungarian) is really makes it relatable for me! Us Hungarians swear a LOT (seriously you could make another language just out of our swearwords!) and is struggling with emotions but damn they even included our tendency to make a LOT of dirty jokes ;)
In a strange way, it's very sweet how her love for Arnold completely changes her. It is the only thing that makes her usual angry, bitter, cynical personality disappear. Gerald interrupts her love fuelled confession on the walkie and she's her old self for a second yet she goes back to being all lovey dovey as she confesses her love. She's all the better for it. It's a fucking cartoon yet I am smiling at how she is finally pouring her heart out and it's making her nicer and sweeter and kinder.
LMAO Arnold in the beginning with that expression on his face!! I love how he's backing away with that freaked out look thinking "yikes, this girl is a whackadoo" HAHAHA. And LOL I love how he goes "I need to go lie down" and she's like "great I'll come with you" LMAO Omg...sexual innuendo much? haha
Can't blame her after all she's been through with her dysfunctional family how they never notice her never gave or showed her love or even cared for her until that one stormy night walking in the rain full of mud is where she first met Arnold and he was very kind to her and she fell in love with him
notlame9000 Yet, they both know things will never be the same. "April Fool's Day" takes place after the confession and in that episode, despite pranking each other, there's also flirting between Arnold and Helga, especially during the saucy tango scene.
A thing I love from cartoons is how they actually mature and serious can get, specially in love relationships. In Hey Arnold! is the whole thing between Helga and Arnold, specially her complex personality; I mean, you could totally see that in a real person (yes, even the statues and the stuff...). In Danny Phantom, Danny is always going after Paulina, but then you discover that Sam is going after him, always trying to state that he's her friend and nothing else, but always saving him. In Ed, Edd and Eddy HOOOLY SHIP, TWO girls going after Double D (nearly three)! In this case, Sarah is the one that's like Helga, being a bully around the Eds and then writing that Double D is cute in her diary. Things like this is what make me love cartoons (and what made me draw from manga to cartoon too)
The first time I saw this scene, I thought finally Helga gets that off her chest Also, I was thinking to my self poor Arnold that boy was so stunned you could knock him over with a feather XD This scene also reminded me of how mature Helga's thinking is for a fourth grader lol.
Well if you think about it this show was in a sense very realistic and Helga aka the most complex of all the characters on this show has had to mostly grow up all on her own because her parents as she said hardly knows she even around.
Yea and when she reveled her feelings toward me it didn't take long for her to constantly wanna be around me but I didn't understand why at first. Until she finally told me that she's had feelings for me for 8 years but like Helga was to shy to admit it.

But uh I felt so embarrassed for Helga, I love her as a character....oh well at least Arnold was polite.
jajaja I loved your comment x)
+Shauna Scott GERALD CAME THROUGH WITH THE SAVE DATS WHY HES THE BRO
+Shauna Scott " Helga was suppose to show her kinder side not act like she escaped out of a mental institution."
If I remember right, at this part of the movie, they were both under a lot of stress, and Helga doesn't handle stress well.
Lmfao
Adamguy2003 yep
Arnold was always my dream boy. Soooo sweet, kind, considerate, mature, caring, smart, compassionate, gentle, helpful and overall dreamy
lol at 0:31 anold looks like "im seriously considering jumping." XD luv this show
We all expected this to happen sooner 🤣💞Helga is a legend to have the courage to tell him now 😆
This is still like one of the best helga monologues I love it so much.
Ha Arnold "I need to think" he looked all confused so funny man I miss this show
I watch full episodes for free on pollystreaming.com and funniermoment.com. just type in the episode in the search bar and you can watch any of them. I love hey arnold (1994 nick kid).
José Séina Boricua thanx
brianna williams you're welcome, I was actually watching "four eyed jack" my favorite episode yesterday.
José Séina Boricua oh I like that one
When you realize the sound of when the hat falls actually is XD
Boner inbound.
+Agent Digit BOIIIOIOIOIOIIOIIIING!
WHEN WAS IT WHAT TIME WAS IT
+Agent Digit puberty incoming!!! :P
Sounds like we have deranged girl who is obsessed with a defoarmed looking who also has a dick shaped grandpa
Helga's love for Arnold is wholesome and off putting at once.
this is the best way to put it
She had so much trouble expressing her true feelings, shes felt for him for so long & always kept it a secret
American tsundere
Thanks for making me see that! HAHA!
Scarletbreaker Exactly what I thought !
I agree!!!
Scarletbreaker a mix of tsundere and yandere. weird.
♔ Poisonous EyeCandy ♔ It never once occurred to me as a kid how insane Helga is.
Wait they are 9? at this look i thought they were 17-18
MC_Spuared they’re a little too young for love lol
i think in this they were like around 12 or something idk
Who else is still obsessed with Hey Arnold!?
I'd funny if Arnold said he figured it out a long time ago.
Jack Jackson
lmao true. like as shes vlabbering to him and bedore she kissess him he just goes, "Helga, calm down." and puts his arm on her shoulder and says, "I've known for the longest time..I was just waiting to hear you admit it.." And then he goes, "Well, this goes without saying," and bamm he kissess HER!!! now that would be epic. then after the kiss helga is like, "I cant believe how much of an idiot I was..this whole time..you-" "_Yeah," and then he does that cute little side grin lol that he does at the end of the movie after she tells him she hates him again.
Pretty sure arnold would be that perspective if this movie cared about keeping them a couple so it would be a good line but it didnt as she says it was a lie at the end so yeah his scarres reaction speaks volumes....
@@dellaswanson9837 no helga is an insecure entitled loser bully and for sexually harassing Arnold I hope he smacks her in the face to make up for all those times
omg the entire time I was watching this I was just like "HELGA DIAL IT BACK GIRL"
Oh Helga, she is such a tsundere
She dominated him 😂😂😂😂
Ninten yeah she made him her bitch
Everyone here is like talking about the fact they kissed and everyone's so happy, and I'm here thinking, "Wow, Arnold is really attractive for a tv character.'
wtf..
Now this is exactly why I love Helga. This is obviously the cutest scene in the film.
Soooo that sound effect at 0:42... Didn't really match a hat blowing off in the wind haha
Jack Carlos creep
oh no-
Honestly, this show would not have been nearly as good without Helga.
Yep!!! She’s my favorite part of the show by far. I love that she’s smart and feisty and honestly truly Arnold’s perfect match.
Get you a woman who loves you and makes every second of your life a living hell like Helga
no thanks
@@DoubleClefFm ikr
That is just a normal woman.
@@YurinanAcquiline maybe your woman
Lol when she said she would go with him, when he said he needs to lie down.
Idk if that’s a sexual innuendo but it’s funny that she said that
I just finished rewatching all five seasons of Hey Arnold and turns out there are a lot of sexual innuendos we missed as kids lol
No one could get away with that now
I don't think it was lol Helga is 9 so I think she just wanted to cuddle with him in bed....
@Claudia_Crimson_585 true
"NOT NOW?" WHO THE-
Chan nel That made me laugh a lot lol
00:31 arnold looks like hes thinkin 'oh fuck!'
Sarah Rooker ew
he looking at her like this chick is crazy
Roger McDoger ew
She just confessed to stalking him and making a shrine of him, she IS crazy.
To desperate
"I need to go lie down." "Wonderful, I'll go with you."
George Takei: "OH MY!"
One thing I give her credit for is she talked to him in private about it
"Arnold-"
"Not now!"
"Not now? Who the-?"
I like how she puts on a British poet accent after the kiss😂
That was so funny lol 😂😂😂😂
I felt so happy seeing this, such a long time coming! Helga and Arnold are legendary characters.
Best Damn scene ever! And I love Helga's personality! you might not know but Helga's Hungarian stereotype (even her name is Hungarian) is really makes it relatable for me! Us Hungarians swear a LOT (seriously you could make another language just out of our swearwords!) and is struggling with emotions but damn they even included our tendency to make a LOT of dirty jokes ;)
sounds like me 😂
"I need to lie down"
"Wonderfull I'll go with you"
"No! I mean there is no time for that"
I see what you did there Arnold 😂
Not sure about you viewers, but I ship Arnold and Helga.
ARNOLD IS FINALLY GOING TO RETURN THE FEELINGS AND KISS NEXT YEAR :'D
In a strange way, it's very sweet how her love for Arnold completely changes her. It is the only thing that makes her usual angry, bitter, cynical personality disappear. Gerald interrupts her love fuelled confession on the walkie and she's her old self for a second yet she goes back to being all lovey dovey as she confesses her love. She's all the better for it.
It's a fucking cartoon yet I am smiling at how she is finally pouring her heart out and it's making her nicer and sweeter and kinder.
"I-I'm confused...Did you just say you love me?"
"WHAT ARE YOU DEAF!?!?!?"
😂😂😂
literally crying
really! why? this scene was supposed to make you laugh...(.i think? )
but it's also so deep
SeherCinema lmao luv u
love you more
I love you all!
what we all want to see so badly growing up watching this show!
If anyone ever has doubts, I let them know that Arnold x Helga is canon. The man himself Craig Bartlett said so.
The freaking walkie-talkie toss 😂😂😂
its about damn time helga! this was the moment all hey arnold fans were waiting for lol
who else is coming back to this video after watching TJM?
Oh definitely!
LMAO Arnold in the beginning with that expression on his face!! I love how he's backing away with that freaked out look thinking "yikes, this girl is a whackadoo" HAHAHA. And LOL I love how he goes "I need to go lie down" and she's like "great I'll come with you" LMAO Omg...sexual innuendo much? haha
Are you still alive?
I am all about Helga confessing her love but she shouldn't have admitted the shrine and stalking thing
Can't blame her after all she's been through with her dysfunctional family how they never notice her never gave or showed her love or even cared for her until that one stormy night walking in the rain full of mud is where she first met Arnold and he was very kind to her and she fell in love with him
Gerald: Arnold
Helga: NOT NOW!!
Gerald: Not now, who th..
I just love this part
Same 😂
"Arnold!"
"Not now!"
"Not now? Who the-"
[ Helga throws away the walkie talkie. ]
XDDDDDD
I love the fact that he looked down the side of the building asking himself would this fall kill me if I jumped right now.
😂
😂😂😂😂
Lol the SpongeBob reference. 😅
I've waited my entire childhood for this scene ;u;
Only to have Helga deny it right in Arnold's face in the ending so the status quo can go back to normal.
notlame9000 Yet, they both know things will never be the same. "April Fool's Day" takes place after the confession and in that episode, despite pranking each other, there's also flirting between Arnold and Helga, especially during the saucy tango scene.
“What are you deaf??” lol
this is the best scene of the movie
*****
=) no doubt about that.
turq99
LOL
Yea and when she reveled her feelings toward me it didn't take long for her to constantly wanna be around me but I didn't understand why at first. Until she finally told me that she's had feelings for me for 8 years but like Helga was to shy to admit it.
*****
Thats cool you can relate in a way =)
