This was always for Seiko the big daddy of the quartz movements, a mecaquartz or mechanical chronograph, quartz timekeeping and was seen as a marvel in watchmaking when they first hit the markets first ones Pulsar branded for Pulsar's sponsorship of the WRC championships. One thing to remember, the flyback seconds hand must be bonded in place, Seiko actually recommend a new hand but where to find one is a challenge in itself, I found blue loctite quite amenable and we are talking a pin prick just enough to cause adhesion without gumming up the minute and hour wheels or locking the second hand into place.
Excellent job, very complicated movement but very good hands dealing with it by high skills, please do not forget to make videos how to test the electric circuit and the coil in many different quartz movements , it is very important for the beginners, thanks a lot
This is exactly what I was looking for! I'm looking to modify my movement by removing the lever at 5:46. In theory that should let the chronograph keep going instead of stopping at 1 hour
All that was missing was to lubricate the plastic parts with the 9010 oil, and part of the chronograph drive with grease, to make everything smooth. I noticed that when you started the chronograph, it would freeze and get hard. But other than that, a good job
I have also worked on a bunch of 7T32s mostly the calendar side, they are a GIANT pain in the ass. No wonder Seiko re-designed them. The calendar on this watch is simple by comparison.
I have a watch based on the vk63. Normally, the chronograph works fine, but if I let it reach the 40th minute (sometimes before, sometimes after), it stops counting time. Only the clock keeps running. So I try to reset it and the button doesn't work for some time (I have to press the buttons without a defined sequence for it to reset). How could I resolve this?
bruh why does this song make me feel like I'm getting go of my childhood and also experiencing the death of my best friend this is emotionally intense for a fucking watch video
Me too it broken ! i have try to check online and can find it! My Caliber the 8t63a and the p/ minute wheel and pinion , can i use 6t63a or it is better to use VK63A caliber? thank you very much ! you have done a great job!
Ah I see 😂. I came across your video whilst researching this very common movement. It's interesting this movement for me remains ambiguous in reliability, despite its prevalence. I was searching to see how the serial number relates to the dial formation for use in a DIY quartz chronograph I'd like to put together.
That's a only way to remove the crown stem without disassembling the movement... Sir make sure you are pressing right spot(there's a small hole on setting lever) press on it and pull the crown stem out🙂...
Yes and no, quartz movements does not need yearly maintenance like mechanical movements. But here are few reason, why would a quarts movement needs service... 1) battery leakage 2)failure of pcb or coil 3)dropping watch on the floor 4) water leakage...

Did you try this and did it work?
Battery depletion

I'm sorry for your loss bro, I'll not use this music in future video...
My guess would be that your feelings are very intense, the music is good. Sorry for your loss.
Qual a diferença entrega à Vk63a e VK68a, qual as diferenças?
Olá senhor, a única diferença entre vk63 e vk68 é a posição dos ponteiros do cronógrafo
@@watchwizard muito obrigado
Can the chrono hands be aligned to zero with the pushers, or do they need to be removed and then aligned to zero manually
You can't change this movement chronograph hands with the push button like some other chronograph watches
Thank you very good
Your welcome 😁...
If the second hand is moving but cannot drive the two hands what's the falt
Hello greetings, thank you for sharing, I would like to ask you if you know how to adjust the chrono hand of this movement, please, thank you
Pull the crown in first click position and try pressing button A if it does not work then pull the crown in second click position and try the same

I don't have this movement with me, right now. but if I get it in future. then, I will definitely make a video on it.
Hi Mr Wizard, i want to ask. Can my watch that use Tmi VK63 chronograph movement 1 hours change to TMI VK67 chronograph 12 hours?
No, vk63 chronograph hands position is different than Vk67
Date wheel but no date window? Is this common?
Common for a replica watch 😅

Ok sir ji
doesnt look very reliable with all the plastic gears in it yet they put it in pretty expensive watches
SII and Epson, all quartz movements are made of plastic and they are very much reliable. And they can go toe to toe against miyota quartz movements🙂..
where is case screw
I removed them offscreen...
That fake TAG Heuer doesn't deserve a Seiko movement, let alone the care you lavished upon it!
One of the subscriber wanted to see assembly and disassembly of this movement. That's why I made this video.
A shame. This is literally a complete piece of plastic movement which is obviously intended not to last very long.
No sir, this movement can last for decades. Movement life's depends on watch water resistance.

Yep🙂...
The movement in this video had a broken wheel(minute wheel)...
