This version of final fight is way superior to the segacd version. Fans really know how to show some love...and UA-cam contenters showing them off is also a good thing
@@Hausbrauen Yeah Cody's face has always been weird in the arcade, doesnt help that in his punching sprites he gains some black pixels for some reason.
Damnd/Thrasher..I used to think he was Hulk Hogan, when the game first came out. I was only 5, but wondered why they made him so evil on here. And this was pre NWO Hollywood Hogan lol
@@the-NightStar Nah, I can definitely see Hogan a bit... even more Hollywood Hogan. I can see Gangrel in his face too IoI. Don't see Randy whatsoever. But perception is a thing, so all takes are valid!
This is like the actual arcade and snes is its own version of the game I noticed the difference between this and snes versions. Definitely a must for either consoles without waiting on people for your turn to play.
Right?? I loved the snes version as a kid, but this one has all those animations/area transitions kept in that snes had to cut. This one looks like it'll even have the 2-player mode that snes tragically didn't!
@Hausbrauen yes something tells me it's a 2 player game on Sega genesis. I wouldn't doubt that it's a two player game. I guess the sequels on snes are two player games. The first game on snes was lacking in. In ways it'll be nice if snes first game was a two player game as well as the sequels on snes. Like final fight 2 & final fight 3. And final fight guy is the same thing when they replaced Cody with guy with one player only.
@@MatthewCox-fd3cf Yep, I remember how disappointed I was when they re-released FF on Snes for Guy much later, and it was still tragically only 1-player. Though at least they made up for it by having the next two FF's being 2-player and console exclusive.
I wish they port ff2 and ff3 instead.. i feel that final fight cd is the definitive version. This is an impressive port of the arcade original though..
Agreed 100%. If you compare some of the areas to the arcade, this legitimately looks better (specifically CPS2-quality) with better textures in some places.
@@worldfallmusic I had the Sega Genesis in early 90s by around 1997 I moved on with Playstation 1 and never payed much attention to Sega or 16 bit again
Love the port onto Sega MD Hardware. Don't know what future directions hold, but it would be great to see if you could work in some advanced features that were implemented in FF3. Could call it Final Fight Special Edition.
SNES certainly did have a superior color palette to this... although this is shaping up to be a vastly superior port in nearly every other way heh. I still favor the music on SNES to this, but considering the ost was also remade by a fan, it's arguably far more impressive as well.
I can't confirm on this version (because of language issues), but I HAVE read officially that 2-player will be in this. Also there are a lot of videos of this out there with 2-player gameplay being shown.
that background would be a fucckin boss screen saver, could one of you dev fuckers maakke it haapen and code those cars to spawn in random colors ?? that'd be sicck
Pretty good progress from 1 year ago actually! Condering all the added modes and potentially 2 hidden characters, this is shaping up to be one of the best ports out there!
@@Ninthusiast Is that true? If so, that sounds incredible! Would LOVE to also see this get the 2-player mode snes never had... not even in its much later re-release with Guy.
@@Ninthusiast Damn those two are AMAZING choices! And judging from other videos it looks like 2-player looks like it's already in! I'll be following this closely now, thanks.
It's all good and all but why do you have to have Final Fight on Sega MD if you have Streets of Rage? I mean, Streets of Rage even plays better than first two Final Fight games. Sure, third Final Fight game is up there in terms of gameplay but still, I would prefer Streets of Rage over Final Fight if anything. And yes, I played both trilogies, including Sega CD port of Final Fight, so I'm speaking from my experience.
@@davidribeiro5254 I see where your point comes from. And I agree with you. But in these days where emulation is everywhere and you can play anything anywhere, you can just play Final Fight on arcades via emulation, or on SNES.
Nah. I played many Final Fight ports myself, and I couldn't be MORE excited for this. This isn't about "Well, this console already has Mario Brothers so I shouldn't re-create another platformer...". It's about "This console never got Final Fight back in the day, and it should've. So I'm going to recreate it from scratch on the Genesis/Mega Drive, and make it better than other port out there, and maybe even superior in some ways to the original arcade version!" And it will be, if most/everything being planned for this incredible project happens. We live in a time now when few of us look back to these consoles from 30+ years ago and care at all about their overall catalogue. Most of us just play what we like. And now retro fans like me have this to play, and it'll prove again how great the Genesis truly was when a competent/talented fan-developer puts everything they have into it. It's a beautiful thing.
@@Hausbrauen Well, everyone has different opinion. And I'm a retro gamer myself and I love retro games, but sometimes you have to think few times about something if you have different opinion about it. And this is mine. And if it's gonna be better than OG Final Fight then fine, but I will still prefer Streets of Rage over Final Fight.
Is the Code made from scratch?
Amazing... the main Game Developer surely is very Experienced (or a Genius 😅). Kudos 💯👏🏻
