    Not everything is fake. Kevin Hays is an official world record holder. This is unofficial, but it's real. Stop going on to every video and calling it fake. Not everything is fake.

  • @julienadam3848
    @julienadam3848 8 років тому +107

    It is so annoying for a cuber to read these comments. "Fake!" This is Kevin Hays, he can solve all these cubes in that speed and has done so officially, do some research."It would take me a million years." Actually no it wouldn't, anyone can solve it with commutators if you spent enough time thinking you'd probably have it solved in like a week tops. You could also just use a tutorial online. "It's sad to see that everyone uses algorithms." Algorithms are only required for the last layer. The rest is intuition. "The secret is..." There is no secret. There is a METHOD that is most certainly not a secret.

    When you solve 6x6, I think pieces just start coming together without you doing anything to them. Your first center looked so efficient. O.o

      Yes that's right, the times are per piece. Each piece may have one, two or three squares/faces.

    • @hcdelias8480
      @hcdelias8480 9 років тому

      No I mean, the Rubik's Cube is in 3D, i think the time after division should be in 'cube'(not one Rubik's Cube) ...

    • @borthwey
      @borthwey 9 років тому

      The times after division are as written, if you want to "cube them" to reach the total time for each cube it's up to you.

    Are the cubes properly randomized for an official world record? I mean there are no judges that can be seen in the video. No doubt he is fast and clearly got all the moves in his reflexive memory, but I'm not sure this video qualifies for an official world record. Someone care to shed some light on this?

      at 0:05 you can see all the cubes. random.

    • @finnpalm9951
      @finnpalm9951 10 років тому +2

      mike dell I meant are they properly randomized for an official record. You do know that they can be "stacked", right? I'm guessing they're not stacked, but for a record to be considered official you need to fill certain criteria. Including the cubes randomized in a certain way, judges and witnesses. Certain rules to follow basically. The cubes may look random, but are they?

    • @Rimzley

      Since it was not done at a competition it is an unofficial world record. But it's not a wca event they consider it as a world record. (I think)

    I'm sure there is some sort of algorithm. You can either read the solution or do a trial of each square. If you noticed, the largest square on each side was done first before the edges so for the 3x3 cube you have start with the center square. He must have practiced quite a bit. Like a boss though.

      Jacobruh ! Dude, you completely misunderstand. The original poster claims that he saw a video where a guy did "this" (implying a 2x2-7x7 relay) in half this time, meaning a little over 3 minutes, which is very obviously false to anybody who knows speedcubing well enough. The current world record for the 2x2-7x7 relay NOW is by Kevin again, at 5:38 iirc. I know when this video was made, I'm not a ignoramus who speculates without reading descriptions, and I am very up to date with cubing records set because I'm pretty much obsessed with cubing.
