2nd Senior Bishop Ozro Thurston Jones Sr. eulogizes the late Senior Bishop Charles Harrison Mason, November 28, 1961, at Mason Temple, Memphis, Tennessee.
When Bishop Jones and the saints started singing “well done “ it really felt as if it was not saints singing, yet it was angels echoing Jesus telling Bishop Mason “Well Done, Charles. Now enter thou to My Joy”
Wow I could feel the presence of God. Indeed it was a homegoing of a great man of God, the founder of the COGIC, Bishop CH Mason. "well done and welcome home Bishop" As saints sung the song it was as if angels were singing. Bishop OT Jones Sr was indeed an anointed servant of God as well and worked hand in hand with the Great Bishop CH Mason. Indeed the COGIC started under a firm foundation of the Holy Spirit. May God bless this great Church and may the soul of all the late presiding bishops rest in eternal peace (Bishop JO Patterson Sr, Bishop LH Ford, Bishop CD Owens and Bishop GE Patterson). My prayers are also with the current presiding Bishop CE Blake.
If only there’s a presiding bishop who deserves a homegoing as grand as Bishop Mason’s . Well Bishop Ford deserved one as he tried to return the saints to what COGIC is supposed to be ..
We don’t hear to much about Bishop OT Jones Sr. We have to bring his name back up in the history books of our church. And recognize that he did lead the church for a good 5-6 years. I recommend we publicly honor him and have his picture up in Mason temple.

Grace and Peace my beloved brethren,I know it was long time ago, but I would like to have a copy of that song “well done”. I was deeply touch by that song and the service
Important historic moment in the COGIC, Glad it was recorded. Bishop Mason and Bishop OT Jones Sr were quite a team. What's wrong with our church leaders today ???

I assume it's the late Superintendent Samuel Patterson on the organ as he was the first organists when the original organ was installed in mason Temple.

This is a wonderful piece of history. Bishop Jones Sr. preached a message that was so befitting!
Well done good and faithful servant.

Thank God for the Saints of old..God is looking for a sold out heart to him and genuine life and nothing else is greater or matters.

His picture is up at the temple
Right. He is always mentioned in our history.
I think that Bishop Mason knew why Bishop Jones watched him so close. He had thousands of spiritual sons.
THANK YOU!!!!

mrtheoneandonly 83 was it a Hammond or pipe organ???
Sounds like a Hammond with Tone cabinet external speakers. You can hear the organist switching between the Vibrato #3 and chorus options.
I believe it was a Hammond.
mrtheoneandonly 83 I thought so did Mason temple ever have a pipe organ???
It's a Hammond. Listen to the introduction. They're probably using the "Reed" preset. Then they switch to the draw bars once the singing.
amen
If I didn’t know any better I’d think this was a baptist funeral the way they were singing if when you give the best of your service 😅 lol
Well done
