  • Interested in selling your old car and are located within the Washington DMV area msg me at Vehiclehunterz@gmail.com The Honda Elite won't win any beauty contests, but the bike just works. Its bland styling will detract buyers, if you can ignore the looks this scooter offers more than similar scooters.

    I test drove one of these two years ago when I was shopping for a used scooter. I really liked the machine, but couldn't get over how it looked -- I could never see myself forming an emotional attachment to it like I had with my Aero 80 way back when. Finally I found a mint 2002 Elite 80 and bought that. Much less sophisticated than the 110, but I smile every time I see and drive it.

      @VehicleHunter  5 років тому +1

      You are right, the styling is kind of bland. When you look at alot of Honda machines they really make vehicles that have some sort of quirk with it. Honda Ruckus for example, such a wymsical bike. I wonder why they didnt do that with the elite. But then again, this was a one time wonder.

    • @ltaldrich8270
      @ltaldrich8270 5 років тому

      @@VehicleHunter Even the dashboard on the 110 is just ugly, generic and is characterless. I'd be happy if they just put the engine in the CH80 and made it a CH110, or in the Aero 125 body and made is an Aero 110. Both of those machines from the 80's are still beautiful and have character. The 110 just looks like a Chinese knockoff.

      @@ltaldrich8270 The Elite is actually made in China, lol. But yeah, it's the Honda NHX110 "LEAD" in other countries, and was continuing to sell in those countries longer than just 2010. It kept that style because that is what sold at the time in those other countries.

  • @KitWriter
    @KitWriter 5 років тому +5

    The 2010 Elite 110 is a 108CC fuel-injected, liquid-cooled engine that is speed-governed at 9000RPMs.
    Therefore, anything you do to this scooter to make things easier on the engine will result in higher speed at better MPG.
    For example, if you make sure the rollers and drive belt are new every 3 years, this scooter will do 52-54mph.
    If you put a taller back tire on it, you can get up to 57-60mph on a flat surface with low or no wind.
    If you stay under 7000 MPH, you'll get 107MPG all day long. This translates to staying under 40MPH.
    I use this scooter as my daily commute, which is 32 miles a day, and I love it.
    Need to get an aftermarket side-stand and windshield for it, though.

    I have a 1985 honda spree. Pulled the little 50cc engine out,welded up some motor mounts and bracing and threw a 350 chevy engine in it. Spree does 240 mph now.

    • @KitWriter
      @KitWriter 5 років тому +1

      @Hawaii Nei You could go faster, but it goes airborne due to being under 200 pounds. So, then you need to put a giant spoiler on the front, to keep it on the ground, but then it's hard to see over that thing.

    I always see them for around $1500 which, is the same I paid for a PCX 125, which has lots more accessories available, is faster, looks better (personal preference ofc), etc. There is only about 20lb difference in weight too. The only reason I could see going for the elite is if you are really attached to the step-thru design and tiny tires (12" and 10" vs 14" tires) or you manage to find one sub $1k which seems rare in my area at least. Not saying it isn't good, just it seems like a hard to justify value from my pov.

    • @VehicleHunter
      @VehicleHunter  6 років тому +1

      I've seen the PCX around the area, they unfortunately sell for more than the elite 110's.

    • @erismo2138
      @erismo2138 6 років тому +1

      The PCX is a large-looking bike. I park my Elite on the sidewalk everywhere and nobody looks at it twice. One of my favorite benefits of owning a scooter is hassle-free parking downtown. Not sure that would work with the PCX but I'd have to see one on the sidewalk, or maybe see them side by side.

    • @KitWriter

      Elite 110 has a TON of cargo space. That is important to me in Florida where it rains for an hour, twice a day, sometimes.
      The Elite is Speed Governed at 9k RPMS so if you get a larger back tire (taller, to be specific), you can hit 60mph.
      Also, I can't find a PCX125 for under $2000. Meanwhile, I got the Elite 110 for $1200 with only 1796 miles on it.

    Beauty's in the eye of the beholder. I think Ruckus' are ugly, and this one is nice and clean. If I was going for something edgy, I'd probably find a used Grom. (and carry a backpack)
    My Silverwing had room under the seat for TWO full face helmets. But the rear end was pretty big, to make that happen. ;)
    I ride a PCX150. Great bike, but no grocery hook and a bit smaller underseat storage compartment. It will cruise at 60, but you still wouldn't want to be on the expressway very long with it.

    I have one, but how do you change the oil? And my helmet doesn’t fit at all under my seat.

    • @KitWriter
      @KitWriter 5 років тому +1

      A full size standard helmet fits fine on the hump beneath the driver section of the seat. A modular and a dirtbike helmet do NOT, because they are taller, due to how you put them on. I got a trunk for the back that holds my modular helmet.
      Changing the oil can be found by looking up 'oil change on Honda NHX 110 Elite' on UA-cam. I just take it to a local scooter shop and I use 10W30 synthetic.
