You fought the wind and had a great day! Congrats Paul 👍

Thanks Dave, you need warm gear to wade in water in wind like that, if was worth it though.

Diddent do to bad on the rats, I think the drought over the summer limited there movements with the low water. Thanks for watching.

Wanted to ask do you have k9 sets out and if so how’s the catches? It’s completely dead here.

@@huntnfishnuts5880 if you count the 2 raccoons then I have 2 catches in 2 weeks out of 14 K9 sets. I do have to believe a fox digging up and flipping a few sets.

@@huntnfishnuts5880 I do agree on the dried up. I only caught 3 rats this year, but I set more for mink than rats

@@BoxieOutdoors your not the only one then, I set cables out day after Christmas a few DPs and a few dirt holes and only caught coons and opossum, it’s just a waiting game now. Hopefully our luck will change.

Some great catches there Paul. Your stands are working very well.

Thanks Eddie, yeah I’m pleased with those stands, I like the Hagz clips on the bodygrips with the 3/8 fiberglass poles for the deeper water.

Nice rats Paul! Yes, you're absolutely right about the elusive mink. I'm lucky if I catch one per season. LOL! Take care buddy!

Thanks Todd, don’t know what the deal is with the mink, I have lots of small creeks like you do that should have lots of mink but there just not there.

Nice going with the rats, Paul. They were some big rats. That black pipe you put there had mink written all over it. That drain pipe with salmon oil in it looks like a sure catch also. Thanks for sharing, buddy. You gave me a few good ideas. 👍🏻

I was pleased with the salmon oil tube over that pocket set, that worked well. Did not catch any mink in that drain pipe just rats Chip, j do have some other ideas for drain tile pipes that I will be putting up. I’m convinced the idea will work if I can find a stretch of creek with some mink. I did miss a coon in that set he got into the brush I had it wired to and was able to pull out of the trap.

@Huntnfishnuts I had 2 raccoons pull out too this season. Never had that happened b4. Looking forward to seeing those ideas.

@@WildAboutBeingOutdoors first time ever this season that I had coons get out of a DP trap, I have had them escape from smaller foot hold traps. The traps where next to brush that they could reach and pull themselves out. A big coon is prety strong.

Those muskrats look extra large Paul

They where all large rats Vinnie, usually I catch a mix of large and small but these where all around the same size. They averaged 15 to 16 inches from tip of the nose to the tail base on the stretcher

Nice pile of rats. We have very few rats or mink, but I’m still going to put in a few sets. Fingers crossed 🤞

The rats seem to be only in certain areas here there not everywhere but I think the mink numbers went down I used to see more of them when I would be out fishing through the year. Good luck with the rats.
